Was fortunate to have seen Doug in concert in the mid-70’s at an all- night bluegrass festival that took place at the University of Montana field house in Missoula . Earl Scruggs played, Lester Flatt and his band (Marty Stuart in Flatt’s band playing mandolin-just a young whippersnapper then). Doug Kershaw came on stage wearing a bright blue velvety suit which he later threw off and proceeded to mow through a handful of bows. His energy, his fiddle playing, his singing….I was spellbound. I’ll never forget it!!
Wow, Dale!! What a thrill. I've loved Doug's music since I first saw him on Hee Haw back in the late 60s. I had several of his albums on vinyl. Great interview. He's so down to earth.
I would love to see Doug perform with his cousin Sammy..I know they have different styles but they can make it work..Doug has collaborated with Hank jr and Roger Miller
What an awesome entertainer. He has brought such joy to people through his music.

Wonderful tune and playing. Captured the life and values of the Cajun people. Very wonderful for people. Diggy Liggy Lo is my favorite.

Just one thing June Carter Cash wrote Ring of Fire.
It usually turns up as co-written: Carter/Kilgore.
(Sometimes people mention only one OR the other...)
Next time ask Doug to play something for us
That's probably why it was mentioned he finds playing fiddle alone is "awkward"...
