Good list, and great video. I love these Amiga gems videos you make. Growing up in the USA and never having an Amiga it's good to find some good, less talked about, games. Happy to see some RPGs on the list too.
Oh man Drip and Dog fight are a blast from the past, I had forgotten about those. Drip is one of those games that just makes the time disappear. Excellent video!
Hahaha, as soon as I saw the You Tube preview I thought "there will definitely be Dragon Breath." I NEVER understood how it was played (maybe I should have bought it original...ehmmm) but it had amazing atmosphere and crazy music. Dogfight reminds me of Sky Kid, Namco's obscure arcade. I would also add Druid II: Enlightenment, Darkmere: The Nightmare's Begun, and Core Design's Dragonstone, which I don't recall being very popular at the time of their release. Great video series!
Im currently doing a longplay of Dragon Wars. Basically its a much more structured Bards tale adventure. Difficult game, just as many were in the Amiga years.
Amiga Bang's Hidden Hidden Gems: - Dr. Plummet's House of Flux (gravity game) - Donk! (Might be good in simultaneous 2-player mode at least.) - Doom II / DoomAttack (Good luck getting it working though) - Death Mask (Did have some fun with it back in the day) - DragonStone (Great Zelda-like game. Sequel to Darkmere.) - Dr. Mario (PD game. Some of the magazines liked this, I remember.) - Dithell in Space (PD game. May be fun in 2-player.)
Ive done a longplay of Dragon strike with Brass and Silver Dragons. Still need to do the Gold Dragon stream. I really enjoyed the story telling in between missions and the feature where you obtain equipment that you actually use in the game.

I played on a stock A500 7mhz 1mb total ram, a system most people had. Ive tried faster processors via an emulator but it dosnt seem to improve framerate. Later in game you get about 3fps and it makes it very difficult.
I'm not sure if these are sufficiently obscure to count as hidden, but "Damocles" and "Deuteros" come to mind. Damocles was a sequel to Mercenary and had a similar open-world exploration approach. Deuteros was the sequel to Millennium 2.2, and involved recolonising the solar system after it had been abandoned, in the face of opposition from the mutated humans now living on the other planets. Eventually you would build up to sending out interstellar spacecraft to colonise other solar systems. In some ways I preferred M2.2, but Deuteros was one of my all-time favourites on the Amiga, and probably the game I most commonly fire up on an emulator.
I was expecting to see Deuteros on the list as well. As far as I know, it wasn't very well known. It was definitely unique and certainly not for everyone, but if you happened to like that sort of gameplay I think it did what it did very well. And one thing in particular that it did extremely well was to periodically introduce new manual game mechanics, and then, just as you were getting tired of doing the same thing manually over and over again, it gave you a way to automate it.
Played Damage before, mad one that! , sure I played Diggers bitd? looks interesting, Dragon Strike looked ok apart from the small playing area. Never heard of the rest apart from Dragons Breath. I remember bitd at the Amiga 'swapping' club, kids used to come over and ask 'Have you got Dragons breath?' lol, another was 'Have you got Skid marks?' Anyway, another nice list of Amiga goodness, keep em coming m8
I feel like Dragonstrike was well known in the USA, but I really don't know. One interesting Amiga PD game was Dragon Cave. Dungeon Master came out on the Atari ST first, and it was really tough not having it on the Amiga. Dragon Cave to the rescue! Kinda. Dragon Cave is actually a Sokoban clone, but with graphics ripped off from Dungeon Master. Seriously, Dragon Cave was a fun game, but a very funny disappointment for someone hoping for a Dungeon Master clone.
You defo need the manual, you can download it .... without it you will just get frustrated. The A500 mini had a few games on like that which is a bit stupid
Off topic but have you played Vampire Survivor on PC? I'm totally addicted to it, Gauntlet meets Smash TV meets kinda bullet hell on steroids...only a price of a pint too.
@@oldstylegaming please do so, I know you like your old-school games, this is simple as fuck at first but then you realize it has incredible depth to it. A better comparison would be Smash TV meets Gain Ground. I think it would be right up your street.
@@oldstylegaming Lol, same with me! 80% of my mates think I'm a nerd coz I don't like their football/rugby shite. So I keep it to myself, kate tagged me on FB at Play, I got some major piss take for that, I'm now a super feckin nerd! 🙄 feck em!

Thanks mate, Ill keep them coming... E has some absolute class games in
I had no clue Deja Vu 2 even existed. That’s cool.
I own it on the Game Boy Colour and Windows, but I had no idea that it was ported to Amiga...
Woah! Gotta try out Damage. Never heard of it. Looks so cool!
it is very cool

Dragon's Breath! Wow, I'd completely forgotten about that one. It was excellent.

Thanks mate...yeah you need a manual for Dragons Breath or it would be a nightmare
Dragon’s breath was awesome! So many hours sunk into that!
Thank you! I was wracking my brain trying to remember the name of a strategy game I’d played that involved mixing potions. Dragon’s Breath is it.
I would love to see a remake of Blue Max with Dogfight's graphics and more variety in terrain and enemies. That would be grand.
Im currently doing a longplay of Dragon Wars. Basically its a much more structured Bards tale adventure. Difficult game, just as many were in the Amiga years.
Here I am watching/listening with headphones on. I wasn't expecting that amazing music in Dragons Breath. Wow!
Yeah its epic

@@oldstylegaming Maybe also Day of the Tentacle in ScummVM though perhaps it's cheating to include Doom and this; idk

Its a bit hard to get into but eventually becomes fun
I had fun with it, installed it on my Evercade flash cart and played it on the handheld...
OMG, I loved Drip - fantastic game. Spent many an hour playing that
Oh man, Dogfight! Me and my brother used to play that one, good stuff!
Its a class 2 player game mate
