To this day that “I like my raps extra-prolific, since freestlyn on lunch tables & park benches & I won’t mention my 10,000 hours of training while juggling gang banging my balancing was tremendous” Is one of the hardest shit I ever heard
Don’t be clowning Cole, he had nothing to do with this beef. This has always been between drake and Kendrick and it was personal. And Cole did not apologize goofy he said he just wanted to say he was a better rapper not end anyone’s career, it was never that personal for him. Stop acting like he’s a punk
"but even the valley peakin me is not validation." Kung Fu Kenny the GOAT. This verse is so underappreciated, most of the words don't get digested because we get distracted by the magnificent cadences but when you listen Kendrick's music, something else pops up each time that you didn't hear or get on the previous listen. He's such an amazing poet.
You here this beat and you know it’s tale of two cities..but damn hearing Kendrick spit on this beat and hearing the 2 different styles of these to great artists. Mind blowing to me. My favorite 2 rappers of my time .
I've probably listened to black friday more than the original, but I always get the "father forgive me for my childish ways" part from j cole's stuck in my head from hearing the instrumental
Just so people know the 10,000 hours in training is referring to being a master of hip hop. They say it takes approximately 10,000 hours to master a craft. I think it’s safe to say that King Kendrick has mastered his craft
"You racing against the tortoise, I pace myself, its important" after Dj AK and Ovhoes were doing their countdown is just funny asf lol. He told yall he takes his time and moves at his pace. And well... he did lol
Also worthy to note that as an athlete we are told if we train for 10,000 hours we can become masters of our craft. There’s actually a book written about how training 10,000 hours for something can make you increase your capabilities 100 fold. All the greats swear by this work ethic and I thought that was dope of him to add that verse. It speaks volumes to his dedication and it shows
Tyre marks tyre Mark's, finish line with the tyre Mark's, when the relay starts I'm a runaway slave, Walking on water running on waves, God MC, I'm an odyssey, I'm a block away!
This is why Drake and Cole are scared of getting on a song with Kendrick I love all of them but Kendrick is on another level u helped me to understand more bars from this song that I didn't get at first
What I remember happening was J. Cole dropped a freestyle with the name Black Friday by taking the beat from Alright by Kendrick. Then K.Dot replied in the same day by eating the beat to A Tale of 2 Cities. In general, To Pimp a Butterfly and 2014 Forest Hills Drive were their latest albums at the time. Personally, I prefer the A Tale of 2 Cities beat more. BTW, I think Crooked on Drum Murder is one of the hardest verses when it comes to rap.
I like J Cole. He's good, grounded, and doing it all for right reasons. Full disclosure, I'm a Kendrick Stan. I've listened to this song 1000 times and after the first verse I have to stop listening or restart. This is maybe the best Kendrick cadence in existence; running circles around the instrumental, which is dope (props to J Cole on that and in general he's got dope instrumentals).
DMT is also what makes you dream when you are asleep. It releases is molecular doses (very very very small) and when you die it all releases at once. What a trip!
Bro at 12:57 if you listen real closely he actually says "I'm David *Blaming* all you hoes" which is crazy. By switching that one word, it adds a whole new message into the bar, basically saying 'it's all of these wack ass rappers fault I had to come and flex on them with the jazz fusion and rock music'. At least that's my interpretation. 🤜🤛
@@pt9373 well thats just wrong lol, everybody does that thing when they repeat the last word in every line but rhyme all of the second to last or third to last words, not fair to say he rhymed everything with 1 thing (kendrick still won tho i dont even think it was a fair fight lol)
Bruh everytime I hear these tracks I get depressed as fuck, when these dropped everyone was expecting a J Cole/K Dot collab album and it never happened!!!! That would have been the greatest album ever made man 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yoooo you the GOAT, this was fire. I know there ain't much Kendrick on this channel but if u ever get a chance React to "Rapper Shit" by Kendrick Lamar & AB soul... yo reaction to all those bars🤯 would be priceless 🤣 💀🔥
his rhyme 'was tremendous, and park _ benches' was is what rhymes with park. trem didnt have to rhyme with the blank pause after park. and then the endous rhymes with benches. it was part of his whole rhymescheme. he wrote that to fit the quatrain that way to fit it where it had be. 4/16ths notes of syllables or rest in the bar

This is such a crazy song. I always forget about this one and coles and when I remember them it’s like finding $50 in your pocket
Lol fr
Very accurate it’s been a couple years 😂 I found that 50
They needed to do a full album like this where they swap beats with each other
I dream of Kendrick on fire squad
They were supposed to do a collab but it fell through I guess 😞
Naw the public just can handle a whole album from them
@@shainebabjeck9403 yeah it’s one fo those things like Dre Detox lol people keep talking, we’re still waiting, but nothing lol

What does that mean ?
Kendrick is so good
I can't tell anything more than that
One of the GOATs with no arguement
Damn one more “dmt” and you’d have summoned Joe Rogan for a hell of a conversation.
Also, it’s an old saying it takes 10,000 hours of training to master something.
Lol came here after j Cole's apology
Here in 2024 y’all better understand this is why J. Cole didn’t want no problems. Drake had to learn the hard way.🤷🏽♂️
Cole can hang with dot lyrically this isn't 2016 no more
Perfect title for perfect day
How in all that's good on this earth have I missed this! 🤯 Hot damn Stevie, BIG thanks!
