The Barovia Project is a "game" released for free in accordance with the Dungeons & Dragons fan content policy. It allows players to walk around Barovia in first person and see the sights of Strahd von Zarovich's domain of dread. The version you can download right now is a demo that contains only the eastern portion of the land, but it's enough to whet our appetites and make us beg for more!

Beneos Battlemaps and that guy really should work together, Beneos has already recreated a ton of Barovian locations in Unreal Engine!

Have you seen Beneos Battlemaps? Has almost the entire CoS Campaign completed with animated maps and handouts.
Is it 3d? I see his videos look like it but no way to actually run around in it
@@TheDog951 his maps are top down verisons of those environments with clickable handouts to show first person views.

Downloaded it and spent well over an hour walking around the village of barovia with one of my players who played COS with me. He was so excited to see the places he remembered visiting specifically in the campaign!
I love that he used Travis Savoie's music for the title screen! If you haven't heard his music check out Into The Mists by him. I have been using his music for my CoS campaign since nearly the beginning. He has other campaigns that he has composed. Do yourselves a favour and check him out seriously!!!

Did this project die? I am looking at the website and it hasn't been updated in a year.
He’s been plugging away at a new version in Unreal 5 that is the entirety of Barovia. I’m on his Patreon, so I get regular updates. It looks great, but there’s nothing playable yet.
Good to know. Just an FYI your "Raising the Stakes" made our campaign 10X better. Such well thought out changes and upgrades or rethinks.
I printed the whole thing and it is in a binder.

I used the poor soul trapped in castle Ravenloft as a vision for one of my PCs. Damn awesome.
