Also, they have heroes(only Blademasters and Farseers, but still), so that's another thing to be aware of
I don't know if it was a bug but I know that in the blackrock & roll mission it was possible to destroy gold mines. I don't know how to make the mine destructible (maybe long gameplay or a bug when loading the mission).
I honestly wish they kept some of the more disturbing imagery in the game. It really sells the point of why those moments (like stratholme) are so brutal i love it.
I am confused throughout your explanation of the exodus of the horde because i remembered that i played the mission with all of these ULD and Ghost instead of Naga 😵
Fun fact: The Pandaren were originally planned to be the Alliance Race added in The Burning Crusade, before someone pointed out that the Pandaren lacked any motivation to fight the Horde. Thus, the redesigned Draenei.
I always wondered if “Strahnbrad“ was a reference to “Strong Bad” and it wasn’t till I played SC remastered that I noticed the Marine armor shop doodads are also called “Tracey’s armoury”

Eternity's End (RoC NE) 6. The Scourge of Lordaeron (RoC Hu) 5. Path of the Damned (Roc UD) 4. Curse of the Bloodelves (FT Hu) 3. The Invasion of Kalimdor (RoC Orc) 2. Terror of the Tides (FT NE) 1. Legacy of the Damned (FT UD)

I miss the days when Blizzard were like this, the amount of extra funny shit in each of their games from way back when shows the effort that went into them beyond just the superficial
37:00 The awakening of Stormrage, you can make a tree of life near to goblin shop and use a teleport directed to the ghoul area, and kill them so now you dont have time limit to finish that mission. You could try to kill undead base, but there is Tichondrius with his divine armor
39:15 I can explain this one. Those abilities are from a function added later in the editor’s history. (Reforged I believe?) If you use the unit in game, it’ll only have the spell immunity. My hunch is that parameter was going to be used for unit/ability skins (per the name given in the editor.) Older maps opened will have the abilities set to their default abilities for the base unit in the ability skin spot. (Hell before frozen throne, the editor had way less functionalities.)
I'm sure you got corrected on these already but Chaos Space Orcs are a reference to Warhammer 40k, not Warhammer Fantasy. Though Chaos is a shared element between the two franchises, Chaos Space Marines exist in 40k only. Also A Song of Ice and Fire isn't the first book of the Game of Thrones series, it's the other way around. The TV series used Game of Thrones as its title because... well let's be honest it's way more catch
9:20 There's a total of 3 of these... - (shown)The northwest corner of Operation: Chrono Storm(Final Allied mission set in Moscow. Easily accessible using Chrono Legionnaires or Nighthawks, but SpySat makes it easy to find(damn Allies and their map reveal tech in RA1 and RA2)) - An island near the southeast corner of Operation: Red Dawn(First Soviet mission set in DC. Accessible once the airport is captured, just be lucky with where to Paradrop) - Near the southeast corner of Operation: Red Revolution(Second to last Soviet mission set in Moscow. Just get a Flak Track with an Engineer onboard to it, you're capturing the airport next to it anyway...)
In the last night elves quest called, stormrage brothers, you forgot that for Malfurion's side, near some trees where his beloved Tyrande is, you can find healing wards hidden in the trees. You forgot a secret, champ.
I wonder if 12:50 was gonna be a tutorial on using the Altar of Kings? If I'm remembering correctly, resurrecting hero characters was a somewhat new concept at the time, so it'd make sense the team might want a way to introduce it to players
1:13:14 i gotta admit, my first thought was that it was a reference to the 4th mission of Starcraft which is called "The Jacobs Installation" which was a top secret place where the Confederates experimented on the zerg, hence the "reject" because it was a failed experiment.
I played WC3 15 years ago, which I got from some random public computers. I play it again recently on Reforged. At first I was confused when I saw that the Sea Witch in Prologue Campaign become Naga and not some ghost like before but I only thought it was only changed in Reforged, not because of Demo version. Anyway, what about the Reforged campaign's Easter Eggs? Because some of the map were very different than the original, like the culling of Stratholme and the destruction of Silvermoon
I began playing this game as a demo on my dad's laptop ! It was a revelation ! I still remember the Ghost, I was so afraid that she would destroy me before the 30 minutes that I never realized it was a naga now
In Warcraft 3 Reforged, on chapter one Enemies at the Gate the developers of the game fixed the issue where you can see Shandris's reforged modal instead of the Classic Night elf Archer modal they changed it in Classic Rain of Chaos.....
Night elf last mission (Furion, Illidan) you can give the Shadow Orb to Illidan. Just sneak behind the downside undead base with Furion, cut down trees, and go really close to gap and drop the item.
At 35:36, I think devs changed Shandris's model to a normal archer to fit in better in the cinematic. The Shandris's model looks comically large relatively to Tyrande's which would've made the cinematic shot look awkward especially at such a close angle.
Will you check out the Re-Reforged campaign for WC3 Reforged? Madlad is remaking the Reforged campaign the way it was supposed to be, with new cinematic cutscenes and re-done levels that fit in with the new post WC3 lore (including books from what I've seen).
35:50 Looking at the stats of Shandris in the actual editor, I'm guessing the reason for her change here is that she has slightly greater stats than the average archer, and the devs didn't want the player to start off with a slightly more powerful archer
In March of the Scourge you can/could start with Arthas at lvl 6 IF Jaina never went past lvl 1. I'm pretty sure this was a bug way back when at Reign of Chaos but I'm not sure if it persisted to the disc version of Frozen Throne.

Also, they have heroes(only Blademasters and Farseers, but still), so that's another thing to be aware of
Do you mean Blackroll and Roll, too?
@@gartoll yeep
I don't know if it was a bug but I know that in the blackrock & roll mission it was possible to destroy gold mines. I don't know how to make the mine destructible (maybe long gameplay or a bug when loading the mission).
56:20 Nooooooo, he cuts the Cello's solo !!! The greatest part of this music :'(
Awesome video, loves the diferent photos you took for dave
Everything good to you and the Abelhawl family
I honestly wish they kept some of the more disturbing imagery in the game. It really sells the point of why those moments (like stratholme) are so brutal i love it.
That bridge trick on Key to the Three Moons is amazing I wonder if you can do that in other missions
YASSS! This was a blast!
Thanks for creating this gem!
I am confused throughout your explanation of the exodus of the horde because i remembered that i played the mission with all of these ULD and Ghost instead of Naga 😵
Mayhaps Jaina dying was supposed to be like a mini tutorial for the player on learning how hero revival worked?
this is brilliant thank you for all your hard work
24:03 YOU COULD FUCKING DO THAT?!
Fun fact: The Pandaren were originally planned to be the Alliance Race added in The Burning Crusade, before someone pointed out that the Pandaren lacked any motivation to fight the Horde. Thus, the redesigned Draenei.
I always wondered if “Strahnbrad“ was a reference to “Strong Bad” and it wasn’t till I played SC remastered that I noticed the Marine armor shop doodads are also called “Tracey’s armoury”
jaina dying in wc3 only further supports her really being a dreadlord.
18:37 the un used dialogue is actually used in the Spanish version of the game and was translated
man i had a blast watching this very good vid man
1:01:35 This is the map that created a whole ganre. Amazing.
No it's not. Aeon of Strife existed already before that.
Damn, W3 campaign is honestly one of the biggest impact on my childhood.
Here is the ranking of chapters based on my personal preference (Exodus of the Horde and Founding of Durotar are excluded due to their deviate characteristics.)
From least favourite to favourite:
7. Eternity's End (RoC NE)
6. The Scourge of Lordaeron (RoC Hu)
5. Path of the Damned (Roc UD)
4. Curse of the Bloodelves (FT Hu)
3. The Invasion of Kalimdor (RoC Orc)
2. Terror of the Tides (FT NE)
1. Legacy of the Damned (FT UD)
31:32 for some reason during my playthrough the lizards ai broke and he wouldn't move after eating a couple of trees.
Did you know that you can resurrect those Spellbreakers that die in the starting cutscene should you bring a Scroll of Resurrection(right?) to The Black Citadel
18:10 Wait! There's more! There is a Frost Revenant, hidden behind the trees by the Laboratory! He drops a...Mana Stone? I don't remember...
42:07 Ain't there a renamed Forest Wolf in one of the cells? What's his deal?
I miss the days when Blizzard were like this, the amount of extra funny shit in each of their games from way back when shows the effort that went into them beyond just the superficial
One more thing to watch every year next to Lotr series
37:00 The awakening of Stormrage, you can make a tree of life near to goblin shop and use a teleport directed to the ghoul area, and kill them so now you dont have time limit to finish that mission. You could try to kill undead base, but there is Tichondrius with his divine armor
43:28 Fitting considering how Archimonde thinks of mortals compared to the demonic race.
Easily accessible using Chrono Legionnaires or Nighthawks, but SpySat makes it easy to find(damn Allies and their map reveal tech in RA1 and RA2))
- An island near the southeast corner of Operation: Red Dawn(First Soviet mission set in DC. Accessible once the airport is captured, just be lucky with where to Paradrop)
- Near the southeast corner of Operation: Red Revolution(Second to last Soviet mission set in Moscow. Just get a Flak Track with an Engineer onboard to it, you're capturing the airport next to it anyway...)
Where Wyverns dare is a reference to The Misfits song, Where Eagles Dare.
I feel old. I didn’t know they changed the Sea Witch from a ghost to a naga or the plethora of other changes
It was to make it more in line with WoW lore, for better or worse
In the last night elves quest called, stormrage brothers, you forgot that for Malfurion's side, near some trees where his beloved Tyrande is, you can find healing wards hidden in the trees. You forgot a secret, champ.
I wonder if 12:50 was gonna be a tutorial on using the Altar of Kings? If I'm remembering correctly, resurrecting hero characters was a somewhat new concept at the time, so it'd make sense the team might want a way to introduce it to players
Why tf I missed your video?! TH-cam sucks! Love your video remake of all easter egg. Great job
The Shandris's model looks comically large relatively to Tyrande's which would've made the cinematic shot look awkward especially at such a close angle.
the date is on april 1st
i dont trust this 👀
Same...
You can trust it.
That children's storybook he just released, on the other hand...
Will you check out the Re-Reforged campaign for WC3 Reforged? Madlad is remaking the Reforged campaign the way it was supposed to be, with new cinematic cutscenes and re-done levels that fit in with the new post WC3 lore (including books from what I've seen).
I most likely will when I have time. I've heard good things about it.
I missed this channel
35:50 Looking at the stats of Shandris in the actual editor, I'm guessing the reason for her change here is that she has slightly greater stats than the average archer, and the devs didn't want the player to start off with a slightly more powerful archer
Epic!
Cant believe they hinted at the Jailer all the way back in Wc3 * *Wears pants of Immolation +5*
what
In March of the Scourge you can/could start with Arthas at lvl 6 IF Jaina never went past lvl 1. I'm pretty sure this was a bug way back when at Reign of Chaos but I'm not sure if it persisted to the disc version of Frozen Throne.
If Timmy is named after Tim Campbell, it's strange that the little innocent Timmy met such a dark fate.
You missed one secret in bonus campaign in orgrimmar Tunnels, there is one more tome of strength at the begining. :)
Huh I distinctly remember being able to possess the peons on Blackrock & Roll and being able to build Orc structures, pig farms included.
