LOL. Holy shit. I found this through a Minnie Riperton search, because she has an amazing voice. But I am a punk rocker, and I saw EES a good 8 years ago at the Fireside Bowl. One of the best damn shows I've ever seen. This is the weirdest 'full circle' I believe I have ever happened upon. ^_^

It's always risky to do something like this with such a legendary song.
He had that Death Angel Tee the last time I saw them in SF. it was especially funny to me at the time as Death Angel was also playing the same night somewhere else. Maybe it's just his uniform, like the drummer rocks w/no pants. \\// Hope they more some more musics sometimes soon! \\//

It would have been more offensive to have tried to copy Ripperton version - this is how a cover should be - take a song into a different genre, introduce something new. Do not expect everyone to love it - but that riff is special!
That's awesome, I first saw EEL in the Melkweg as the support act of the Blood Hound Gang and I loved them. Now this clip is filmed in Amsterdam and it's great!!

Covers aren't supposed to sound exactly like the original, if it does it means you lack any creativity.

Didn't think that someone could pull Mini Riperton song into a rock strata but it was not bad. Just wish they left the La La La La La part out. That sound corny but it is part of the song I guess.

I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't enjoy this song. This is probably the best cover of one of the worst songs from the Disco era. Electric Eel Shock also do a great and different cover of Iron Man which I'm sure has gotten a similar response.
