I believe he has said he admires epileptics because of the ‘euphoric feeling’ they have before having a seizure… I think that is why in Lux Aeterna there is so many flashing lights and a theme in his movies in general because he wants to emulate the feeling
As you say, you can't monetize your videos. So it's always worth saying thank you for the work you put into these. It's truly a labor of love on your part.
Watching Climax was one of the most visceral experiences I've ever had at the movie theater... he won big bonus points for properly hiring, crediting, and compensating the dance professionals in that movie too.
I'm glad I watched Irreversible knowing exactly what was coming I like to watch movies without knowing anything But watching this kind of movie without knowing what's coming is just beyond my psychological level
I watched it randomly back in tbe file sharing days, it was on an IRC server I was blindly picking films from.. I must have been 18-19 at the time. I was not prepared, but ended up being a favorite of mine. Beautiful film.
@Felipe Araújo It's a pretty new film. Gaspar finished this movie in June i think. It had premiere in Cannes and was realesed in NH Festival as well. Dunno when and where will it be available online. Cant wait to rewatch
Noe's direction & cinematography are great pieces of cinematic arts. The use of colours, where every neon light that we see on screen represents a certain emotion that the protagonist experience & goes through in that moment. The use of music, especially the 80s inspired neo-Synthwave that grows up a feeling of nostalgia, melancholy and thrill all together. The use of camera angles from a protagonist's pov, the raw love scenes and much more. He truly is a legend! ❤️
A well crafted piece of editing as always. Noe really beats the viewer out of his comfort zone. Thats what i like about his movies. Especially "Climax" was an experience in the cinema, that you cant describe. Nobody talked a single word after this and left pretty disturbed. To me it was hilarious, because they clearly expected a light hearted and fun Party movie.
Irreversible is one of the most beautiful films I've seen. It's a visceral experience, on multiple levels. I watch it once every few years. Highly recommend for anyone up for the challenge.
Gasper Noe is perhaps the weirdest director out there. I think he's one of the rare filmmakers that are still trying to push film to its limits. Beautiful work Beauty Of! You thought about a Beauty of Wes Anderson?
I remember when this video first came out. I hadn't seen any Noe film. I wasn't familiar with the name. Because of this video, I saw Climax and it introduced me to the world of Noe and now he is one of my favorite directors. I am slowly watching his filmography (so far Irreversible, Enter the Void, and Climax). These films changed my life. Simply, thank you.
i've seen Climax, only becos i have a crush on Sofia Boutella, and that movie was crazy and wild, i loved it. i think i'm gonna watch more of his movies.
It’s hard to call a film like Irreversible one of my “favourites”, as I have no desire to ever watch it again… But I have no hesitation in calling it a masterpiece. A difficult, challenging film, and not for the faint of heart. But those who dare to experience it will be rewarded with the most beautiful and unconventional revenge movie to ever make it to screen.
Well...hardly a revenge movie but without spoiling it for those who might read this without having seen it - that's the point. It truly is a gutteral punch after a gutteral punch once it reaches the apex.
Irreversible... I was living with a friend when I was younger, and I woke up one day alone in the house, extremely hungover and couldn't eat without puking, laying on the couch feeling really emotional and depressed... And that's when I watched it... For fucks sake man. Bad choice.
Gaspar noe is a masterpiece in himself, his filmography are exceptional in almost all aspects, be it the way he uses his cinematography, the OST, the subtle way of unleashing madness that feels raw with the plot..its fucking amazing. Also, a great edit as always.!
it is very daring indeed. he took that risk and that is one of the reasons why he is considered an artist. for many people (me included) it is one of the most powerful movies ever shot.
i used to have mixed feelings about his films (loving the visuals and audio but often finding the material too tryhard and wannabe-edgy) but climax made me a convert. now THAT is a movie!
He is one of my fav directors 😍😍 I think especially Love is one of my fav films of his. Amazing Cinematography, strory and OH MY GOD the sound track is like in the top 5 sound tracks of all time.
The most shocking scenes understandably earned Irreversible a controversial reputation. But don’t be put off… It’s been 10 years since I watched it, and it remains burned into my subconscious to this day. It’s a very challenging watch, but I think it’s a masterpiece.
The Beauty of Fox’s X-Men, Robert Eggers, Jordan Peele, Safdie Brothers, Rian Johnson, Raimi Spiderman Trilogy, and just more because these videos are amazing

Hey please mention the times of the movies😬
Great vid but how tf is this not age-restricted yo!??
@@Noproblem396 because it's art
@@naydendagoat8261 🤔 Point!😮Makes sense💯 ...as long as it's "art" it's fine I guess🤡
Gaspar Noé is one of the living examples of the phrase: ''call me everything you consider bad, but don't call me conventional''.
Lmao perfect
I firmly believe that epilepsy doesn't exist in Gasper Noe's world
I think he just hates people with epilepsy
I believe he has said he admires epileptics because of the ‘euphoric feeling’ they have before having a seizure… I think that is why in Lux Aeterna there is so many flashing lights and a theme in his movies in general because he wants to emulate the feeling
Nah. He just doesn’t care that the damage to them might be Irreversible.
@@Acheron93 I see what you did there

Can't wait to watch his new film Vortex
Its modern masterpiece. Cried 3 times during screening. Would never expect sth like that from Gaspar

vortex is the worst film from Noé, i saw the premiered in Cannes
@@noe3587 well it differs from his previous films but it touched me as well. Not the best Noe's movie but its also not a disappointment
Gasper Noe and Lars von trier change my whole perception on cinema.. Much love

Watch them all!
Gasper is definitely of the most visionary directors working today. Beautiful video mate.
exactly, and I wish if he starts to branch into creating Sci-Fi. I mean he heated the psychedelics things to death already
this is the example that the cinema goes beyond a simple plot, noè’s movies are a true experiences.Amazing director

Gaspar Noé not making a movie, he definitely making a masterpiece!!!!!
Wow I'm so glad I found this video. I absolutely love his movies. They are so unique. He's the master of directing camera work.
You never disappoint. Love your work man
Gran cineasta..de esos extremos que dió el cine y pocas veces sabemos reconocer
Mesmerizing..
@Joseph Wilson don't talk stuff about something when u don't know who they are.

Perfect song choice omg
You should do one on "Bernardo Bertolucci" the conformist is probably one of the most visually appealing cinematic masterpiece.
One of the most Underrated Filmmaker
Gaspar noe is a masterpiece in himself, his filmography are exceptional in almost all aspects, be it the way he uses his cinematography, the OST, the subtle way of unleashing madness that feels raw with the plot..its fucking amazing.
Also, a great edit as always.!
Gaspar Noé is lucky to still be active after "Irreversible"
Movies like that are usually a career suicide
he dont give a fuck lol like lars von trier
it is very daring indeed. he took that risk and that is one of the reasons why he is considered an artist. for many people (me included) it is one of the most powerful movies ever shot.
Its also because Gaspar has such a strong vision of his own and know exactly what to do.
2:56 First time noticing it's Gaspar himself dancing to the left of the screen
Wow i never noticed that you got sharp eyes
Edgy as always drugging the youth 😂
Il apparaît aussi dans irreversible dans la scène de la descente dans la boîte...
On le voit en train de se m******* face à l'écran 😂
Absolute genius all his films are raw human essence through ridiculous photography
i used to have mixed feelings about his films (loving the visuals and audio but often finding the material too tryhard and wannabe-edgy) but climax made me a convert. now THAT is a movie!
I always waited for you to make this video and it didn’t disappoint, excellent music choice and the scenes too, it’s amazing, thank you!

Gaspar Noe once mistook a record player for a tripod and the rest is history
The Beauty Of Minari, would be good
Think what you will about Gaspar Noé but the soundtracks and the credits are always fire if you like him or not!
Outstanding work. Do one of Tony Scott's movies. It's simply amazing how you edited the entire video. It's breathtaking
Love was a perspective changing film for myself.
The Beauty of Sons of Anarchy. *PLEASE*
You should look at some of Jim Sheridan’s work. As a aspiring filmmaker in Ireland myself, his films are incredible
Thomas Bangalter !
If anyone is curious about the song -- Climax theme, is an edit of Supernature by Cerrone which is sort of similar to Daft Punk's Giorgio by Moroder
