I love your reaction. A perfect song for you two. Loved the joy in your eyes a faces. Thank you for sharing with us.
OH, MAN!!! LOVE THIS SONG!!! John Prine was PRICELESS!! RIP, SIR!!! LOVE this duet!! HUGS, YA'LL!!
I got to see John & Iris together in concert back in the late 80's in Seattle. They were wonderful together! So charming. Thank you for sharing this one.
Went to see Nanci Griffith/John Prine at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, MO, I knew who John Prine was but wasn't real familiar with him. It was just her and her guitar, no band. Then John Prine came on, just him with his guitar, no band. Then they sang together. Both were just fantastic but wow, John Prine exceeded anything I could think of. Small theatre and their voices/guitars soared. I'll never forget it.
@@LarsSmith-rv4ot Loved Nanci too! Saw her live many times over the years. That sounds like a wonderful concert!
John loved comic books especially the Archie series. When the characters in love looked at each other big red hearts were drawn into their eyes. I heard this in an interview of John decades ago. Always endeared Prine to me even more. ❤❤
John Prine was a jewel -- and you two are jewels as well. Your commentary and your relationship are a joy to witness.
Love Iris! A true bluegrass legend ❤
Keep smiling you two. You ain’t got nothing but big ole hearts dancing in your eyes.
Iris DeMent is a great singer-songwriter in her own right. You'd love songs like Our Town, Let the Mystery Be, and My Life.
Those smiles says everything
Yes to ketchup on scrambled or fried eggs! Oh, how John is missed….thanks for another engaging reaction!
More from Iris Dement please! Let the Mystery Be, Our Town, Momma's Opry, Wasteland of the Free...
Beat me to it. "My Life".
Half the fun of John Prine concert was his stories between his songs.
Johns pure, gentle humor has been part of his music since day 1.
You two are wonderful. Love watching you. This song is about a couple just like you. In love regardless. Thanks so much!
This love song has more truth to it than any I have ever heard!
Tobasco or hot sauce on scrambled eggs, it will change your live. Love John and Iris together. Iris is a wonderful singer and writer as well. Thanks for this.
Iris was one of John's favorite voices. When he asked her to do this song with him she said you probably couldn't get nobody else. LOL
Two of the best.. thanks.
I have a Pandora station based on this song. Love it so much and it leads to lots of other great music. :)
Love, love, love this song. Me and my Mrs' theme song, if you will, lol. John was a MONSTER songwriter and Iris is no slouch herself. Literally pretty much anything by John is gold; a true songwriter's songwriter. I was lucky enough to see him in concert a few months before he passed, and it was probably the best show I've ever seen - and I've see A LOT of live concerts.
I'd recommend Iris' "The Train Carrying Jimmy Rogers Home" or "Our Town". Her husband, Greg Brown is also a very, very good songwriter & performer. Check out his songs "Downtown" or "Canned Goods".
Thank you Troy and A&D. I was waiting for this one! 🎶🎵💚
Ketchup on almost everything!! 😉
Three other clever, funny songs of his: Dear Abby, Please Don't Bury Me, and Spanish Pipedream. I really think you'll love them all.
I love Johne Prine and Iris DeMent, and I also love ketchup on my scrambled eggs. Your reaction to this song is why I watch reaction videos. John can make laugh; make you cry and make you think.
My husband and I played this song at our wedding reception. The moment we heard it, we knew it was about us.
I went to see john Prine any chance I could get. His talking between songs was always good even if he said the same things now and then as he did the last time I saw him. It always would get to laugh or have a big smile )
Clay Pigeons, written by Blaze Foley and covered by John Prine. That song got me through the covid lock down and some awful losses.
Great song, great reaction!
Was smiling, waiting to see your reaction for this.
WOW, can't believe it...Bruce yesterday and John today, you've reacted to two of my requests THANK YOU. I feel very fortune to have seen him over 15 times in concert and have enjoyed him for over 50 years so I feel so blessed that his music has been a part of my life, WHAT A GUY....
John does a lot of sad songs (but beautiful ) but this IS NOT , one of them..........glad you enjoyed it so much ! :)
This is my husband's and my song 😊
John Prine was a lyrical magician. I miss him so.
I love this happy song. BTW, I put ketchup on scrambled eggs also!!!
Check out Iris doing ' Our Town', ' He Reached Down', ' Easy is Getting Harder' or John doing 'Jesus, The Missing Years' or ' Paradise ' These two artist have depth that doesn't end.
Oh wow!! I haven’t heard this song in a minute. Love it and appreciate your reaction!! 🙌
John Prine's "Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian"
😊 The perfect song written about the perfect couple for each other. Things my personal favorite from Prine. Have a great weekend! Thank you for sharing!!! ❤
Quite possibly he’s arguably the best songwriter bar none.
Dylans favourite singer.
So he covered a song called Clay Pigeons by Blaze Foley .
Blaze wrote a song called “If I Could only fly “ and its a must to do a reaction to it guarantee you will love it 😊
Brings a smile to your faces
We're not the jet set off the same album is amazing. John prine wrote a lot of really great stuff. This is an amazing album. He could write an album like this but he also wrote Angel from Montgomery. Check out Bonnie Raitt's version of it.
This Christmas, when you sit around your tree and are all cozy in the dark, play his Christmas Album. It is soooooooooo good and more than just Christmas!!!!!!!!!
Loved John❤❤
That concert is good for just about any Prine song.
I've with you Andrei, I put ketchup on my scrambled eggs too.
And I love this song.
My wife and I sing this song to each other all the time it's "our" song.
One of the great tragedies of COVID is that it took the Great John Prine from us
John is an absolute legend & just passed away 2 yrs ago at age 73, he has many many great songs! You 2 should sing this song to each other ✌💖☮
When he says it makes him Opie’s step brother he is referring to Ron Howard who as a child actor played the son of a small town sheriff in 1960s TV show called The Andy Griffith show. The actor who played the sheriff was actually Andy Griffith and John says he and Billy Bob played his sons in some film. The Andy Griffith show was a huge much beloved tv program that still shows in reruns to this day.
Exactly, LOL! Anyone in the Anglosphere that was born in the 1950s or was around in the 1960s knows "The Andy Griffith Show." It may not have been shown in Europe or eastern Europe, I don't know. I have heard that the 1970s detective movie series "Colombo" with Peter Falk was popular in at least one eastern European country during the Soviet era. Maybe Andrei or Domenika can tell us which country it was?
Thank you for explaining 😊
@@MerchantOfAlba I think it was either Bulgaria or Hungary where "Columbo" was popular and allowed in by the communist-era government. Have you heard of this Andrei or Domenika?
Against all odds, baby we're the big door prize
I love this song.
Enjoy your reactions. If you haven't done a Boston song yet, anything from their first album is great. I especially like "Something About You.".
More John Prine please.
Love them both! ♥
I ❤John Prine! Convict movies are like crimes shows, aren't they. 🙂 Thanks A&D! ☮💙🎶
John Prine is a national treasure . I don't put ketchup on anything , we don't even have a bottle of it in the house .
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick did a great cover of this from their home !!
This was a fun video and I loved the song 😀
Look for John Prine and Nanci Griffith signing Prine's Speed of the Sound of Loneliness -- the official Nanci Griffith video.
Hot sauce on those eggs! Love it.
Iris has a song called “Jesus May Love You, But I Don’t” that you’ll love!
Awesomeness 👌
great song. Ketchup on fried eggs yes. Try it on fried chicken. Please do Ambrosia Holdin on to Yesterday
I used to put ketchup on my scrambled eggs, but then I grew up. 😀 Now I use hot sauce.
This is perfect for you two!
Only cheese or grits go on scrambled eggs. 🙂
Yes to cheese 😀👍
Hahaha - I don't put ketchup on my scrambled eggs, but it's a common enough thing in the USA, at least. 🙂
My family has been in search of foods ketchup does not go with. So far ice cream is the only thing we’ve found.
hey you :) i'm missing the video of Lindemann NSL and all the new videos of Nightwish😢
I love john Prine but please check out Iris Dement on her own. "Living in the Waste Land of the Free", and "Let the Mystery be".
Btw if you put ketchup on scrambled eggs you’re in league with Satan 😂
Andrei, YES, most people put ketchup on scrambled eggs! YUMM!
"Fried Eggs", not so much!
🍳😂
😁💚
Excellent, as are you 2. The Viagra Boys and Amy Taylor have done a great cover version - check it out.
You two doing this song. lol
I'd bet good money that the two of you did not know what John Prine meant when he said that he was now Opie's step-brother :) @1:33
Okay I must admit that I have on occasion had ketchup on scrambled eggs. Sometimes take bread and make a sandwich out of it.
👍😁
I like ketchup on my scrambled eggs
Great reaction & analysis, guys. I went to a wedding once and the couple ended the ceremony with this wonderful tune. Perfect!
So happy you appreciate John Prine. What a brilliant artist. May he rest in peace. Iris Dement is quite talented and perfect for this song with John, as you said.
I don’t use catsup/ketchup on my eggs, but many people do.
Check out the movie daddy and them it is funny and you will understand the song more
