I disagree with TIP -- I don't treat people the way I want to be treated and don't want others to treat me how they want to be treated. I treat folks how THEY want to be treated and want people to treat me how I want to be treated. There's a major difference and what I've described requires getting to know people enough to know what they want so you're not assuming that they want what you do, which is problematic. Life keeps teaching me that everyone doesn't want to be treated like I do and when I treat them like I want to be treated, someone, often both of us, end up hurt, angry, disappointed or something unpleasant. That "Golden Rule" stuff is oppressive and traumatic af.
Treating others how you want to be treated is THE GOLDEN RULE for a reason.
