You all need to take a class on what a mature buck looks like. Are deer population doesn't have a chance anymore little more help from Montana fish and game would be nice. Look at what Wyoming has done too protect its big game. These guys should be ashamed of themselves. Good old days are gone and lost forever

Wow, Montana sure is high class. The hiliday inn has a pool and water slide. Here in crappy ny if you want to get wet at the holiday Inn you have to go in the parking lot and jump in the mud puddles, lol. Glad you all had action and fun, good luck in the future.
Well, I can’t speak much for quality, but there’s definitely not a quantity issue. Deer everywhere out there, and a good amount of mature bucks. We talked to a game warden who was satisfied with the deer numbers in the area. In the end it’s about hunting and having a good time, and if the deer population is healthy then we’ll take what we can get.
@rowancarey4803 if we had a real FWP that actually gave a shit about a resource and not about making money we wouldn't be in the position we're in. There's better deer in Idaho and it's a lot closer for you. Maybe you should hunt there. I don't care to hunt Washington it sucks.
@@jonasmt8588 well, I don’t know what to tell you. We saw more deer than we could count on this trip. Plenty of nice bucks. Hopefully your state isn’t issuing more tags than they can handle. The game warden we met and talked to didn’t think there was a population issue.
Its really sad what FWP is doing, they are legally supposed to only sell 17k non-resedent general tags but found a work around and are selling around 70k each year now via combo licenses. Non res hunters far outnumber residents in SE montana and washington is at least half of those nonres hunters down there, and since they are forking out $800 at least for a tag they arent willing to pass on immature deer. Last year in one day late season I counted 7 seperate washington plates and 1 montana plate not including ours in a few hours in one area. I dont blame you guys, its 100% FWPs fault and its not your fault you want to make the most of your tag and are being realistic about going home empty handed if you are picky. That being said, its really sad for the locals that the once abundant quality in our area is being shot to hell because people are willing to pay $1k to come shoot a forky and then brag about how great it was, its the same people that used to come fill pickups with 10+ muley does when FWP was stupid enough to sell 6 tags to each non resident. Enjoy it while you can because soon you will turn hunting here into the same quality as the hunting you are running from in washington.

Montana residents are very protective of their land. Rightfully so, it’s an amazing place. At the end of the day, we want to have as much fun as we can and wait for the best deer that we can, while still coming home with meat and not eating our $800 tags. I’m glad you liked the video!

I don’t think any of us got our meat tested. We stopped at the inspection station and they said they weren’t concerned with deer from the unit we were hunting. Sent us on our way. Yeah we were lucky to draw two years in a row. This time we drew as a group of 5, plus 1 that hit the alternate list. The year before we didn’t draw as a group, but 3 of us hit the alternate list and 2 had doe tags.
Also, the old guy looked annoyed and questioning how he ended up there. But smoked a buck with a classic rifle with a scope older than 5 of the 6 bros in camp.
Super cool vid, those are some awesome bucks! Love the cinematic shots and music too. It was neat to see the terrain and landscape there, as I'm planning a hunt this fall north of the border in Alberta for Whitetails (or Mulies if I can get drawn tag). Are the tags in Montana on a lottery draw?

Once the smaller 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 years old are cleaned out good it will only returns is the units are spciecla draw. In West Montana, there are places where I have talked to fafrmers and they say, "They are all gone. I never see the big ones anymore." It's really sad.
