How can a province that receives billions of dollars in welfare subsidies from their peers in federation and continuously voices concerns about climate change not do more to prepare for this inevitable situation. This is only going to continue to get worse. Shame on the provincial government for not doing more to help the municipalities prepare.
$13.3 billion dollars last year alone, which is also a similar average they have received over the past several years based on the info reported by the government of Canada. It's very shameful that this was not forseen and plans made to help prevent the amount of destruction being reported.

Even so, China still won more gold medals than the United States, with mainland China 40, Hong Kong 2 and Taiwan Province 2, totally 44, and one race won the most gold medals.
The Olympics is supposed to be a place for countries to compete in friendly matches without the involvement of politics. This has been a terrible Olympics all around for that reason, but also for the reasons you mentioned. I'm not sure that they should boycott, though, that's admitting defeat.
