    I think my favorite commentary on Mrazek's performance in that game against the Kraken came from The Hockey Guy: "Here's where Mrazek made his save of the night. I don't mean like a big save like HIS SAVE OF THE NIGHT. I mean just his save. For the night"

    that falcon punch ... as a Hurricanes fan I think about how Rod has repeatedly complained about officials and believes an official should come off the ice and instead be in the stands or watching the live TV feed, because the game is too fast. That being said, there's a point where an official is standing right there and staring at someone getting punched in the face a foot away ... that's not a miss ... that's a deliberate decision to not make a call to influence the game. We'll never know if the official gets reprimanded, but I hope he did.

      @@LiqdPT they were already on the PP too. This would have allowed them to go 6 on 3 with the net empty. 6 on 4 they almost managed, but they had Lazar on the ice instead of Garland because Garland's helmet was busted after that punch, and Lazar couldn't lift it over Vasi's pad. I'm fairly convinced the Canucks tie that up if they call a penalty. Now, do they win it in OT? Who knows. Is losing in regulation better for them given the season they're having? Yeah, probably. Thanks for bringing up the common "soft" rebuttal. I'm in Europe and as such probably look at it with much "softer" eyes than most, but it blows my mind that some fans expect players to fight now and then if they play physical hockey, that players are "enforcers" on the ice, that players are celebrated for being rats when it's for *your* team. It's like there's a subset of fans that watch hockey like some fans watch NASCAR-they're there to see blood, not great feats of sport. Surely, the referees are there to adjudicate the game, the teams are not supposed to police eachother-and if they do, something has gone very very wrong .. . right?

    • @Hackattack7
      @Hackattack7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'd say your both right and wrong in your assesment, are the refs there to make sure the game is clean, yes, but there is a lot of gray area in sports, especially in fast sports. Look at any professional field and its the 'job' of your peers to police up stupid things that go on. Do people take it too far, absolutely, especially when emotions run hot and its a team/player you particularly hate.

      Meanwhile, if anyone else does something, no matter how awful or even dangerous, they get 5000 fine out of their millions a year paycheck 🙄.
      This sergachev dang it reminds me of that Tom Wilson one a couple years ago where he deliberately attempted to injure Panarin (to the head too). Pretty sure he got 5000 for that too. It’s ridiculous.
      (On a completely different note, do any Avs fans find Garland throwing his helmet after that ironically amusing?)

    I watched that Darcy Kemper one near the end, and I couldn't help but notice the #8 on his team just.... randomly skates off the half way while the attacking player who scores the goal just casually skates into the open area for a free shot on an open net...... Like, didn't even look like the dude knew there was a hockey game on, just "weeeeeeee" off he goes the wrong way..... LMFAO. No hint of a hustle back at any point, just... doing his own thing.

    Also, you’re asking where you draw the line? Simple, every hockey fan will tell you that you draw the line just before other players do it to your guys. Duh! 😂

    19:30 first game of the 2021-22 season for the red wings Larkin gets hit into the boards with the intent of hitting his upper body, larkin then threw a punch toward the Lightning player which resulted in a 5 minute major being assesed to the wings and larkin being ejected. This lead to 2 tampa goals and for the wings to fall 6-7 in OT after previously being up 2 goals
