I was worried this was just going to be a political circle jerk convo, but it was actually a pretty mature, impartial conversation. Well done!

I ceased investing in Canadian real estate in 2021 and have no plans to allocate further funds to the country. Instead, I relocated with my wife and children to Mexico, where there is a more supportive environment for entrepreneurs and investors, offering superior returns and cash flow, not to mention a higher quality of life.
Feels like Canada's going downhill fast, huh? Good luck to everyone still riding that sinking ship.

1989 in Canada the housing market dropped off a cliff. I personally know a person that held 2 underwater, cash flow negative condos outside of maple leaf gardens for a decade before they got their principal back. Hopefully people are cashed up to be able to hold.

Listen to Jim Rohn, you cant change government, can't change taxes!! What are you doing for yourself. If you are selling real estate and were good at it, you made a ton of money in Commissions. What did you do with this money. Yes trudeau and his mineon Freeland both know nothing. Capital gains increase hurts people like me who has owned real estate for years and now have to pay a larger capital gains tax. On financial assets, it hurts if i sell and make a higher gain than $250K. People who bought real estate made tons of money. Whereever yoy go they have other issues. pick your poison

Condomageddon. GTA edition. Everywhere I drive around the GTA has a condo building going up. My little town has two of them going on. Along with one that just finished and a purpose rental. To say we over built is an absolute understatement. Canada is so screwed.
