I'm indonesian, and despite all the controversy surrounding the film, i'm so proud that this film make the world more aware of my countries early political condition. 🇮🇩🇮🇩 And so happy that the genius Peter Weir and Vangelis work on this film 🇮🇩🇮🇩
Do not forget MAURICE JARRE (1924-2009). When I was young and watched that movie for the first time on television (1984 or 1985) I could never forget it. Especially the music of Maurice Jarre and Vangelis' _"L'enfant"._ But on top I stay impressed by the locations - your country! Best wishes from Germany!

@Pianochick88 Oh, I understand you very well! I found the soundtrack on cd by chance and it makes me very glad! Enjoy it as much as you can - I will do, too!
Sometimes (maybe a lot of the time) I feel like it’s an utter shame that people don’t know so much more about Indonesia than they do. I’m often happy if people even know where on our planet the country is located. Besides its geopolitical importance, it’s just an immensely fascinating part of the planet. I’ve been obsessed with the place (and I do mean obsessed) since I was a young child. I was lucky enough to go in my early twenties, and once I got there, I didn’t leave for close to 15 years. I guess you could say the place is my life’s passion. And even though it pains me that places like Thailand and Vietnam are so much more widely known, it kind of makes Indonesia that much more special to me. There is a line in this movie where the little lady who plays a man says something like “magic still exists in places where enough people believe in it.” It was in reference to the magic in those islands. Beautiful scene about a beautiful place. It’s changing quickly because of the internet and social media (huge bummer), but there are still many places where that mystique and magic still survive. I can’t wait to get back. Once I do, I’ll never leave again.
Saw it when it came out. Still one of my favorite films and I relate to it often living here in Asia. The film is a work of art, like so many of Peter Weir's films.
The movie , for me caught a moment in time . I spent four months vacationing in Indonesia. I can relate very easily to the movie. It was actually filmed in the Philippines.
That film is a hidden gem. I’ve been looking a long for it to show up on multiple streaming platforms, but they couldn’t care less about box office sleepers a lot of the time, but it showed up on TH-cam for free recently.
The year 1982 I came to Indonesia to stay for a long period of time and this film was prohibited to watch in Indonesia, so I got to know of this movie in the beginning of the 90ees only. Great movie of a history of a great country.
Without parallel, Sigourney is the best female action star ever. She’s intelligent, looks natural, never runs after the antagonist in high heels, she doesn’t try to be a man, and she doesn’t take herself too seriously. I just loved this movie.
I don't know why I've always known her name even though I've n ever been like a huge fan or something... it just popped into my mind and I decided to look her interviews up. Didn't realize she was so tall.
Which is that other movie that she is asked about ? A comedy with Chevy Chase? Deal of the century? That was a movie by William Friedkin....I hardly remember that other film
Awww she has such a soothing lovely singing voice 🥲 The first time I heard her sing was in Heartbreakers. I could tell she has good pitch and an ear and what not. Her tone was also good of course but, singing in a fake Russian accent isn’t the best way to show off your chops. This was way different. I could go to sleep to it. Her singing voice or speaking.
My idea for an Alien5 movie is as follows: It takes place after alien4 and takes places on an earth in ruins. TheRipleyClone has transformed into an entity that is producing eggs, and a lot of humans are affected, and a war breaks out. They have to use a nuke on the swarms of xenomorphs and decidedes to travel to the planet where they think the xenomorphs orginate from. There they find there are multiple forms of xenomorphs. They manages to form a clone of a xenomorph that is able to communicate with them. And a peace is established. But as allways Weyland-Yutani has spies that want the xenomorph for their biological weapon program. And it is a surprice who the spy is. And that Weyland-Yutami has a lab on a spacestation not far from the xenomorph planet. Where they finds forms of xenomorphs that noone has seen before.
Sigourney is gorgeous! She was great in “Alien”. She deserved an Oscar for “Alien”! 👏
She Deserved an Oscar for Aliens and Working Girl
She is very elegant and she has class 👌
Her voice!!!!!💖😭💖 I adore her voice.
She does, still does have a great voice
What a beautiful woman ❤
The Year of Living Dangerously was a great movie! Both Gibson and Weaver are fantastic.

Great movie .
Mel and Sigourney are excellent, but Linda Hunt outperforms them both.
Fack you 🖕
*_The Year of Living Dangerously_** IS a great movie!*
Possibly the classiest segment ever
Underrated film. One of the best I've ever seen.

My favorite movie. Great cast, director and score. Magnificent!
Great actress. The Year Of Living Dangerously what a great film .
Gosh she's so charming
She is amazing. Very special actress IMO. I love her distinct voice.

If you live in Asia, even Straya...it matters
You're very sensitive man Mister, I agree with you totally.
Dignified and gorgeous.
Vangelis was the master of mood-evoking scores.
Do not forget MAURICE JARRE (1924-2009).
He made the fantastic score...
@@whistleblower5734 though this piece was made by Vangelis but not iincluded in the original soundrack album.
@@goodgood9955 Of course, you are right!

Bitte schön! You are welcome!
Sigourney wears almost no makeup so frequently, that it is a shock to see how gorgeous she looks dolled up like this (especially 1980s dolled-up)
Women generally looked better in the 80's as did the men.
She was so perfect in The Ice Storm.
Style and tall and an highly defined personality, very attractive woman then and now.
.....Don't be so tragic: nowdays there are Lindsay Lohan and Milly Cyrus.
One of my favorites.❤
Great film! Weaver and Gibson were such an interesting leading cast.
The bbc should start showing old films again like they did yrs ago.The year of living dangerously would be a good start😀👍
Ths movie and the music is just wonderful. My favorite!
Same!!! And ONE of my favorites!
Great actress!
Great film!
Great musical score!
This is the look that made me a fan of well done makeup. Oh, how I love it.
What a stunning beauty!
just saw the movie on video full lenth...ah the power of love..lovely soundtrack as well..very Peter Weir movie
The movie , for me caught a moment in time . I spent four months vacationing in Indonesia. I can relate very easily to the movie. It was actually filmed in the Philippines.
I love her smile!
Wow, she really is beautiful.
A classy, talented actress and a really great movie also.

She speaks in such a noble american way....I love her.
Aaron Michaels I think she is partly influenced by her mother who was British.
@@seamusin1697 you right , there is a British conection there. She probably went to private school. Well educated.
@trha2222 oh do fuck off. Gangster culture has been a thing since the late 1800s in America.
@joseph adel in a reality where the Dead Rabbit Riots happened , and the peaky blinders were around in Birmingham.
I love her
Cried when I saw Peter Allen seated there. Cheers from Australia.

Great actress and great movie!
She is like her name, absolutely unique
WOW!
I LOVE Sigourney Weaver !!!
era semplicemente bellissima e con stile. Raro oggigiorno
she is the best!!!
She is a great AMERICAN actress. Has a beautiful face. And speaks with such intelligence that it is beautiful to hear her speak. CLASSY LADY.
Great movie, Sigourney is all around awesome.
so smooth of an interview, contrary to the contemporary stature.
fantastic movie
Biggest crush on this woman.
She's so intelligent and classy!
Good channel ruby
Here in Iowa, we have a city called Sigourney, but the emphasis is upon the first syllable, not the second...
She reminds me of Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Woo hoo! Big Sig! Six feet of gorgeousness!
She has a lovely accent. :)
She is such a patrician, cool beauty.
Weaver looks beautiful.
The rumor is that when she was a teen, she became somehow involved with Tonight band leader Skitch Henderson, which led to his leaving the show.
The name Sigourney is primarily a gender-neutral name of French origin that means The Conqueror.
Afantastic film
They should have made a real life couple. Two of the greatest! Beautiful film!
February 23 1982
Amazing lady.
Omg what a woman
I don't know why I've always known her name even though I've n ever been like a huge fan or something... it just popped into my mind and I decided to look her interviews up. Didn't realize she was so tall.
From Feb 1983
She was the breakout (by far) star of Alien (1979). But it was these types of serious, politico-dramas that made Hollywood really take notice.
Carson's next guest was John Moschitta, who became well known for speaking fast in FedEx commercials of the 1980s.
Wow
Which is that other movie that she is asked about ? A comedy with Chevy Chase? Deal of the century? That was a movie by William Friedkin....I hardly remember that other film
Sigorni is Serbian. It means confident, assured, reliable. It doesn't mean Gypsy.
If you are on stage with King Carson, you will always be the second-sharpest tool in the shed. Hit wit could cut light in half.
He was great ! That's why he was the King of Late Night.
i used to have a crush on her when i was 5
Great haircut. Funny how both her and Kathleen Turner became breakout actresses of the 1980s and both had unusually deep voices for a woman.
Awww she has such a soothing lovely singing voice 🥲

Sigourney, The name Sigourney is girl's name of French origin meaning "daring king".
Woo Hoo! Big Sig!
Back when there was no death and everyone was happy
After killing aliens to political fights, this woman does not rest!
Sigourney Weaver - the thinking man's bit of crumpet - then and still even now !
clip is broken at 8:12 - video stops
theme:
vangelis
bad assed!
What a Sutton Place Goddess
at 1:44 I almost thought she said "Mathesar"!
One fine woman there!
Sigourney aged better.
at least she is my height and I can look her in the eyes and she will kiss me before I wake up.
So, when is Alien 2 coming out, Sigourney?
What's the name of the song 4:16?
“L’enfant” by Vangelis.
Mel gets the woman at the end and loses an eye
Row, row, row your boat. .
Total package
Susan beatifull name :)
