  • How to take a realistic subject and turn it into an abstract. Developing your shapes by using what is in the image and making a fabulous abstract design. This was filmed in Taos, NM during a Abstracts That Glow workshop by Gwen Fox.

    What is art?...... A: What isn't art? (Picasso)
    I made a small sketch once, two different people saw the sketch...one loved it.... One thought it was trash. Art is subjective. Once an art dealer told me I couldn't paint. Now my art hangs in offices and peoples homes. I'm invited to shows, and it goes on. Its a blessing to create.

    I like this process as it is a racional method applied to an abstract style. Love it !!!

    I enjoyed watching your abstraction video. Have you by chance produced a video on how to mix with colours of your palette. I am taking your workshop on Abstraction and since I have never painted before I would love to know how you mix your paints. (all of them). Thank you. Shirley Wood

    This teacher isn't instructing on anything other than how to come up with an abstract design to practice a component of abstract work such as technical skill. No way she is saying that making a few arbitrary deviations from realism is how to convey a concept. I hope.

    Using an Andrew Wyeth drawing is self-deluding,weak and unnecessary. To plagiarize or borrow another's art will only make you codependent, regardless of how well you hide it. Create your own original sources without fooling yourself!

      @GwenFoxArtist  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Rick....thank you for your comment. I understand your viewpoint but this video was taking and "idea" and making it into an abstract design. It is merely a taking off point...it is to give the artist ideas on the "how" to take a realistic subject and turn it into an abstract. I appreciate your comment but this does not in any way make one codependent.
