Bono really gives this song justice. He respects Pavarotti and Pavarotti respected him and his craft. This song basically signifys Bono as the new generation and Pavarotti calmy seeing that maybe their will never be a singer as good as him ever again. I hope not. But Pavarotti was one of the greats and Bono knew this. its just wonderful seeing that on stage and them singing together. Rest in Peace and God Bless Pavarotti.
Sometimes you hear a song do often it becomes boring; not so with this collaboration. Brought me to my knees in tears, praying forgiveness. Have heard Ave Maria over 80 yrs however ; never like this. Thank you Pavarotti & Bono.
I think Bono just did his own thing; this wasn't a competition about who's is the better Ave Maria, but individual interpretations. They're two very different people, coming together to express the same love, and it's beautiful.
It's awesome that Pavaratti would partner up with singers with such different style and ability, and to do it with being humble shows what a great guy he was.
I thought Bono was brilliant.. he was who he is, a rock musician, who puts amazing feeling into his music...two different styles... the vocal technique feeling and brilliance of Pavarotti will also live on forever
A união faz a força para vencer as dificuldades que a vida apresenta, ouço cantar PAVAROTTI VOZ imortal do melhor tenor do mundo do insuperável coração bondoso e Bono neste hino de louvor a NOSSA SENHORA MÃE DE JESUS CRISTO, me fortalece, gratidão a DEUS e Santíssima Mãe de JESUS CRISTO, pela vida , pela família...
Pavarotti wanted to bring Opera to everyone, not just the rich. He accomplished this by singing with some of the most well-known singers. He was also a great man and a great friend. I miss you Pavarotti!
"Where is the justice in this world? The wicked make so much noise, mother The righteous stay oddly still With no wisdom, all of the riches in the world leave us poor tonight. And strength is not without humility It is weakness, an untreatable disease And war is always the choice Of the chosen who will not have to fight." Good Message from Bono. Pavarotti Forever. We miss you. RIP
Imagine standing next to arguably the greatest and most famous opera singer in history and saying "I got this, I'll sing the song you're most famous for, but I'll do it in English and with my own lyrics." You can never accuse Bono of humility lol
You know--I think this is pretty much my new favorite version of this haunting melody. Bono offered his own lyrics--his own heartfelt prayer to the Mother while Pavarotti backed it up with the more traditional Latin--and the two sang in harmony at the last part...Pavarotti, your mission has been accomplished: you bridged the worlds of pop and opera and it allowed the pop world to reach deep and offer their own creative juice...see what harmony between people music can bring? Magnifico!
Até me arrepio toda!!! Lindo! Adorei
Never thouht to see Bono on the staghe whit Pavarotti. And Ave Maria is a song fot manny people how had last some one the loved. A great song together. Lot of love frome me Sylvia from Holland.
Beautiful, I love this song when Pavarotti sings it anyway, but when Bono sings about the Government choosing to go to war, when they're not the ones having to fight, is just heart breaking.
Bono seemed nervous standing next to such an iconic presence. Not only standing but singing! You can completely tell the difference in emotion and power when you hear both of them sing.
Holy crap, thank you for educating me. You're absolutely RIGHT! I was not aware that Schubert didn't craft this beautiful melody specifically for "Ave Maria." And I was a frikkin music major! You have to admit, though, it fits well. :)
Pavarotti was, and always will be surpreme in opera, as Bono is supreme in rock. Blending two very different voices when both are equals in their own arenas is in itself a masterpiece. Shame Pavarotti did not sing with Beyonce and others who are equally as good as these two. I am sure Blessed Mother Mary loves it. It is a song where for a mere 4:02 length of time, we all sit and listen.
Those words are Italian, and my curiousity got me. "about elected representatives who do not have to fight". Yes, that's true. Who starts wars? They do, not the front line soldiers.
Pavarotti is brilliant, Bono is great. Pavarotti who I saw has the whole audience entranced. A special gift. Also view Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe in Barcelona. Mercury is sensational. All the great singers have passed away. RIP
Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. I'm so sure you know better about these things than 2 of the most massively successful singers in the history of the planet, right? Wrong. They wanted to sing together and knew it would be unique, extraordinary, phenomenal & hugely welcome by the entire world. And it was! Perfection.
no,pavaroti eto realnii ,tol'ko on ni kto drugo' ne smozhet ispolnit' etu pesnyu kak on,kogda ya slushayu etu melodiyu u menya ozhivaet vse. spasibo vam ,za vash golos ,za vashu dushu, zavse!!!!!!!!
When Pavarotti starts singing the voice doesn't seem to be coming from him, but straight from heaven. How come a human being sing so divinely? Bono did a dog's dinner of the song, but let's give him credits for trying.

SPLENDIDI!! DUE COLOSSI DELLA MUSICA MONDIALE!!❤❤❤
I think Bono just did his own thing; this wasn't a competition about who's is the better Ave Maria, but individual interpretations. They're two very different people, coming together to express the same love, and it's beautiful.
With Bono, it's the message. With Pavarotti, it's the passion. Always....
Pavarotti shuts down all those who sing with him. Omg what a presence
I love Pavarotti's face while Bono is singing :)
It's awesome that Pavaratti would partner up with singers with such different style and ability, and to do it with being humble shows what a great guy he was.
This is beautiful. A symphony of love, a harmony of genre's, a prayer of hope.
This should be released now ..such a reflection of the world right now this minute in time .
Who is listening to this today? So awesome! Thank you from Switzerland!
Two Geniuses, Two great singers, two messages that are true now and forever.
what can one say -the brilliance of Pavarotti never ceased and bono was very good as well
War is the choice of the chosen who will not have to fight. What a poignant lyrics. Bravo
Good lyrics
Great duo. Bono's soul and Pavarotti's marvellous voice !
no one can hold up to Pavarotti... in this age now..... he was and is a great singer..... he stands alone ... no one yet, can sound like him
This video is awesome because it shows two different styles of music coming together which shows music is truly the universal language!!
Bono with the soul and the message, Pavarotti with his incredible voice!
It takes guts to sing with a legend like Pavarotti.
Pavarotti was such a great singer. He is definitely missed.
goosebumps as soon as Pavarotti's voice sent a chill down my spine that strangely melts my heart.
they both did a lovely job. different styles. r.i.p. the magnificent Pavoratti
Pavarotti wanted to bring Opera to everyone, not just the rich. He accomplished this by singing with some of the most well-known singers. He was also a great man and a great friend. I miss you Pavarotti!
Beauty at it's finest turned into music by the beautiful voice of the best ones

Bono wrote the lyrics he is singing. He's done a magnificent job as always. Beautifully done for our time.
i would say, they both sang gracefully!!!!!!!!!! and i love Pavaroti and friends::::
He is emotive. It seems he wrote the lyrics. Wonderful words!
Inigualavel.
Maria is rolling in eternity. What a drag of a duet.
I really love it! I love all the emotions in Bono's redention and the angelic voice of Pavarotti.
" . . . and war is alway's the choose, of the choses who will NOT have to fight."
A very true and profound statement!
"Where is the justice in this world?
The wicked make so much noise, mother
The righteous stay oddly still
With no wisdom, all of the riches in the world leave us poor tonight.
And strength is not without humility
It is weakness, an untreatable disease
And war is always the choice
Of the chosen who will not have to fight."
Good Message from Bono.
Pavarotti Forever. We miss you. RIP
Souls, hearts, voices, exquisite and powerful ❤Incredible duo

terrific. Pavarotti and the young singers of today, what a stupendous achievement for them all.
I listen to Pavarotti for his amazing, wonderful voice, I listen to Bono for his words.

Pavarotti was a gift....he was truly amazing. I would have loved to have had Mario Lanza live in these days, just to have done his recordings justice.
It was very original concert! Thanks!!!
the music is one selection that will be played at my mom's funeral. Beauty and message.
great song, two great singers i love it.
BEAUTIFUL SONG LOVE IT
Beautiful, I love this song when Pavarotti sings it anyway, but when Bono sings about the Government choosing to go to war, when they're not the ones having to fight, is just heart breaking.
I have never heard this song in english. And I dont know Italian. So I was pleased to hear this. Thankyou
I feel so bad for Bono seeing him sing this. Pavarotti so out shines him.
The pianist's tone improves so drastically every time Pavarotti starts singing...
Bono seemed nervous standing next to such an iconic presence. Not only standing but singing! You can completely tell the difference in emotion and power when you hear both of them sing.
Love 💘 jackylou
Thanx

MARAVILHOSO...
"Where is the justice in this world?" Bono joins the master, Pavarati, to sing of love and helping others. Lovely.
Those words are Italian, and my curiousity got me. "about elected representatives who do not have to fight". Yes, that's true. Who starts wars? They do, not the front line soldiers.
Bono was brave.
+juie anderson these words were made up by Bono. This liberal garbage of his has nothing to do with this song.
+juie anderson ....esatto , agree with you Juie.....all other comments make non sense....:)
Ave Maria- spiritual song..
Bono....with a message..
Pavarotti....R.I.P.........Singer from high...

"UNGLAUBLICHE LEGENDEN"
A MIS HERMANOS CAIDOS EN MONTERREY MEXICO 52 DIOS LOS GUARDE EN SU SANTA GLORIA
Das Bono so etwas so gut rüber bringen würde... Einfach klasse.

Ciekawe połączenie i wyszło super.
Haha, I understand. I love both of them but Pavarotti is my fav!
Actually, the real hero here is the pianist, turning his own pages on a masterpiece.
