    I don’t think I’m confident enough to take on a project like this ... you have to be good at measuring! I’ve only just mastered using an electric drill .. and put up a curtain pole! Took me 3 hours!!
    Well done, the doors are amazing - I’m inspired! 👍🏼🤗

      Thank you! And you will definitely improve as you do more projects. I wouldn't have had the confidence to try this a few years ago either but I've slowly built my skills and my confidence!

    I love this!!! Really, good job girl, I can’t believe you did it by yourself.
    You gave confidence to start my own project alone, my husband is the clumsiest man ever rsrs I love him, but I’m doing this all by myself like you did it! Whoa😳

    I'm late to the game since I see you did this 3 years ago. You did an amazing job. Wow! I can't stand my sliding doors that are almost exactly the same. I have one question for now. If I'm not going to cover my doors with a wood design, how do I cover or fill in the two round areas that I have to open the doors with? I can't stand these doors the way they are. They are always coming off the track. Such a pain. I'm grateful to know that I can change them without buying new folding doors! That is what I thought I was stuck with before I saw your video. They come off the track too! Doors like yours don't. YaY!

    I like your videos. They are something most people can relate to. No shade to anyone but those people with mansions and a weird notion of " on budget" are nice to look at but as relatable as "Architecture Digest".
    The instructions are clear and while I wish you plenty of sponsorship opportunities, I like that you're not constantly trying to sell us something. I look forward to your next videos.
    BTW...if I may suggest ...if you could just slow down just a tiny bit when you talk because while English-speaking people understand you fine , the people whose primary language isn't English may have to" pause and rewind " a few time not to miss a thing.
    Thanks and good luck

    Great video!!! I have the same sliding doors in the home I rent. I was looking at ways to decorate them to make them look nicer, and found your video. If I owned the home I would be immediately running to a hardware store to do this project, it turned out amazing and I really wish I could see my whole closet at once :/

    • @jboudie
      @jboudie ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in a rental too! I'm planning on doing this to my main coat closet as the doors are driving me nuts, and my partner and I always find ourselves getting them to come off the track somehow while opening and closing (super old doors, old building, etc.). I'm going to ask my landlord for permission first, but I don't see why he'd say no, as this will be a huge improvement to the unit!

    I built this over the weekend. Building this would be very painful if you don’t have a table saw. Being able to set the fence to 4 inches and just rip everything to the correct width makes everything move quickly. Also underpayment is a great way to go on this project, be careful letting the big box stores the sheeting into smaller sections for you, they generally do a poor job and you’ll have rough edges to fix.
    Overall awesome project and I love the look of my new closet doors. Keep posting the great projects!

    • @LovelyEtc
      @LovelyEtc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing that you built it! I always love to hear that. And yes, it's really convenient having the store cut down the underlayment but I have found they often aren't as careful as I would like with the measurements.

    This is exactly what I was hoping to find…I have 4 bedrooms full of these ridiculous doors. One question, I’m assuming you cut the edge off of the door which would face towards the wall itself and not in center. Did you experience any issues doing this? Any splintering or hollow edges?

    Were these hollow core doors? If yes, how much can you trim without compromising the door? Thanks

    • @LovelyEtc
      @LovelyEtc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they were! I don't know for sure how much you can trim because all doors may be slightly different. For my doors, I cut 3/16" from one side of each door and it worked perfectly. There should be at least 1/2" (8/16") of solid material on the edge of each door but I would keep my cuts well below that just to be safe.

    • @futbol1972

      @@LovelyEtc I just cut them to size but they are hollow on the sides so I don't know how pit hinges now since there is no place to screw them in? I guess I can use other side of door for hinges but how would I cover the hole on the side where I trimmed the door?
