- Hello and welcome back to another Camp!
Today we're Camping in a Emergency survival bivvy. It was an interesting night that's for sure lets just say I got very wet and only had 2 hours sleep!
Thanks for watching and all your support!

Awesome adventure.
Thank you for sharing.
KEEP ADVENTURING
GOD BLESS YOU
A quality Bivvy bag was my next purchase and It has been my companion for the last 25 years. I wash it with Nikwax every 2nd adventure and it is a life saver not to mention the cumfort it brings. I am now 62 and would not go into the woods or hills without it. 😅
Failure is by far the best way to learn, been there and learned a great deal. How can you forget your jacket. Kit list preb everytime.😅
Very true! I know I know, it was the last thing I was meant to grab before I left, but alas I didn’t haha.
@@CampingwithCraigyikes 😬 😳
Fantastic effort! Thank you for sharing as you learn.
Haha thanks! Couldn’t get much worse!
@@CampingwithCraig It did look like an ordeal, you poor thing! But your cheerful outlook and determination to see it through are admirable.
Congratulations 🙌 on the success of your channel ❤
Thanks!!
Excellent viewing, always enjoy your videos from start to finish, good to see the comfy chair.
Maybe when the weather gets warmer you could do a camp with Nicola and Benson.would that ever happen😬😬😬
Thanks. That chair has become my favourite piece of equipment now, something so simple too! I think a camp with Nicola will happen, but I couldn’t do a stealth camp with his lordship, he’s too highly strung and would howl at the slightest noise. That said we have considered doing some regular campsite camping and benson could join us for that!
@@CampingwithCraig so pleased to hear this, Nicola is a great sport ,can't wait to hear your unique take on any campsites you may visit.
Benny will love it.,as long as he doesn't fall in any lakes.😂😂😂
Very amazing video well done and keep up the great work
Thanks for saying so, if it wasn’t for the sheer amount of rain it could have been filmed better but hey it is what it is! 😬
great videos , your first year has been awesome to see and because I've been here from the beginning. Congrats again on 1000 subscribers . 😋👍
Thanks for saying so! Here’s to many more hopefully… although a few more videos like this and I’ll be in early retirement!
Craig , fyi , when wearing an emergency bivi , you need to cut a hole in the bottom and the end two corners off it .
Then you put it over your head and wear it like a massive skirt .
This lets you move about at night and not trap wet air in the EB .
WELL DONE getting through this . Ive seen a lad survive perfectly in a black sack once .
Ahh good to know… makes sense in hindsight. Let’s hope I’m never in a situation where I actually need to use it eh! Thanks for taking the time to comment! 👍
you gave it a good try there Craig 👍 but better luck next time init mate👍😊👍
Thanks! I really hope there isn’t a next time in that thing!! Haha
@@CampingwithCraigI'm sorry you went through all that but I'm kinda glad you showed us that it doesn't work as they say. I'm going to remove it from my shopping cart
Thank you 😊
👍👍👍
One must see those 'Survival' Bivvies for what they are .. inter alia, water / wind / air proof reflective barriers .. cheap, better than nothing and NEVER to be relied upon as a stand-alone.
Insulation .. only against Heat Radiation. Condensation and Heat Loss via Conduction will always be an issue.
Those 'Emergency' Rain Ponchos. Not to be scoffed at. I bought a heap some years back that were going on special, and each, together with a Mylar 'Space Blanket' and in selected combinations, other odds and sods, don't take up much space in a jacket pocket, bag or pack. More than once, one of these has kept me dry during an unexpected downpour.
A slit hole cut into the Mylar Sheet (they are disposable as once out of their packaging, they are NEVER going back in 😁) .. hole cut for the head to go through and the slit ends sealed with Duct Tape to prevent further 'running' / tearing. Topped with the Plastic Poncho, this makes for a reasonable 'ersatz' protective option. I tried it and it keeps one protected from wind and rain and warm. Some Cordage used as a belt reducing everything flapping about too much.
There are You Tube Posts out there .. Mylar Sheet over the head, topped with a Poncho, sitting on one's pack, knees-up against a tree and a lit candle between the knees, apparently makes for a reasonable 'get-one-through' the night if need be. I haven't gone that far .. yet 😏 .. but perhaps worth a try.
Thanks for sharing .. take care ..
HI, yeah I don't think I'l be relying on one of these again anytime soon haha. I'm glad I had the poncho had a spare one laying around since or last trip to florida...must grab another!
The candle idea sounds horrific but I'd never rule anyting out haha.
Thanks for taking the time to comment! take care.
I just subscribed. I think you're funny. I'm from Smyrna Georgia USA. 😅
Thanks for joining! Glad to have you along! I’ve been to Florida which I guess isn’t too far from Georgia in the grand scheme of things!
You bought a waterproof non-breathable bivy. SOL makes an ESCAPE BIVY that is breathable and heat reflective. You might want to look into it.
I’ve had a look at them, looks good I’ve added it to my forever expanding list of items to buy haha
I think you made the right decision, why practice misery, try try again
Eventually! I’d say most of my decisions leading to this video were bad haha.
well done for giving it a go. few would have
Cheers! And now I know why people don’t! haha
good vid m8 keep smiling😂😂
Thanks! At least I can see the funny side at 3am haha.
That looked a Nightmare Mate.
I’ve had better nights that’s for sure 😬
Found the light. I lost a thermometer friday .
Found it
those are death traps
I know that…. Now haha
