The wait was worth it! Had to wait long enuf to get the studio execs to agree with a "superhero movie" with an "R" rating was a must and wouldn't have been the same without it. Great movies., Deadpool 1 and 2
As a Canadian who lives in Vancouver, I can tell you that production was no secret. I drove past the filming of the bridge sequence for a week, traffic was a pain in the butt, but Ryan's a local kid that was making sure there was work for us folk out there, so we cut them some slack. This sort of thing is kind of hard to keep a lid on, especially when you can see it from every building. Deadpool 2's scooter sequence was filmed across the street from my office so again, not much of a secret, but as a city used to this, we didn't rubberneck or get in the way ( but it was kind of cool to be that close to a location).
My neice worked at this expensive grocery store that was attached to this expensive hotel that a lot of famous people stay at. She told me that Ryan had come to the store, and so grabbed a basket of items to go back on the shelves, someone tried to take the basket from her, but she was like "I already have it." So she went an stalked him around the store. And then during that visit, she saw him talking to the deli meats guy for some meat. And she said that she went to talk with another employee and both of them were like "HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HIM!" I laughed at the story and told her to stop stalking famous people...but I feel I would have done the same. XD
Its so frustratining when studio execs are involved. I remember hearing back in the 80s, George Lucas. Steven Speilberg, etc made films THEY wanted to see. And those are some of the best films. Studio heads ruined Batman 3 because they wanted to sell toys. TMNT was ruined because they wanted to sell toys. Hell, some of the greatest songs on the radio had to fought by the band to play because studio heads "no one will want to hear that". Studio execs are so out of touch they are the reason their companies lose money.
I really hope they don't screw everything up with Deadpool 3 with the MCU crossover finally happening! But I don't think they will. As long as Ryan Reynolds is still involved with how the character is written and portrayed I think it'll be fine. He knows exactly how to play Deadpool
Thank You Ryan Reynolds & crew for fighting to give us the Deadpool Franchise we always wanted on the big screen. Can’t think of anyone else that could have pulled the character off & made it as fun as you all have done so far.
You realize that Logan was a future version of wolverine right? It takes place the same time as the days of future past timeline but an alternate version of it. Besides that it's actually an alternate alternate version of wolverine in the next Deadpool, not necessarily the Fox timeline.
Ryan definitely leaked the footage himself. He's a marketing genius. "If I knew that would happen, I would've..." is just his sarcastic way of saying "I knew that would happen, so I did".
That was a HUGE gamble though, to be fair. The studio saw it and passed and it was a big gamble to leak it to the public, who could've just as easily passed on it. It was a 50/50 shot though so he really lucked out, if he was the leaker. Regardless, I'm glad it leaked and led to it being made as-is.
@@BigDaddyJinxI feel he knew it would be more on the good side of the 50/50 because of the Deadpool fans out there. But agree, there's always a chance it could have gone south.

No one is more perfect or could have made Deadpool as successful as Ryan Reynolds especially as in the comics Deadpool was a cross between Ryan Reynolds and a sharpei.
I was happy that Ryan Reynolds was able to redeem Deadpool after X-Men Origins Wolverine. The jokes were funny, the action was Bloody hilarious, and Colossus was my favorite character.
Colossus as a big boy scout was a great straight man to Deadpool's act. His reaction to a female opponent's wardrobe malfunction was hilarious, if unrealistic.
This film deserves all the praise it can get. So much was riding against it, but it shines through. I really hope its heart doesn't get watered down in the MCU.
Shows that studio executives are so clueless as to what makes a good movie. And now they want to use computers to replace the people who actually know what they are doing.

Deadpool is in my top 10 movies. Partially because of how hard so many people that really loved the comic worked to get the movie made and how spot on Ryan is as Mr pool.
Deadpool will always have a special place with me. It was the first comics series my dad got me collecting and my best friend of 35+ years died a couple years ago. He gave me his copy of New mutants 98 a couple years before he died.
Before seeing Deadpool, the only Ryan Reynolds role I was familiar with was his part in Woman in Gold. To say the least, I was pretty blown away by his performance here. Then, subsequent to watching it, my brother and I were in transit together on a tram bus from Paramus to New York City and heard “Careless Whisper” over the bus’s dashboard. When I remarked about the song’s usage in Deadpool, my brother told me he would forever associate the song with the movie. And, we were both in single digits when Wham! was together and making records.
It is true. He's never called Deadpool in the movie. Same shtick, however. And he already has mutant powers for the most part (slicing bullets and whatnot) Making things all the more meta in a way. Modern DP has the luxury of poking fun at his previous iteration...which he of course, does.
When it comes to actual marvel comics it's Ghost Rider for me. But when it comes to marvel movies Deadpool is definitely at the top of my list number one unless they finally release an r-rated Ghost Rider movie which is what Ghost Rider movies should be rated then we'll drop to number two
The only problem I have with Deadpool is that the character is literally immortal and nothing can physically hurt him. He doesn't need to cover or avoid bullets and such. He has nothing to fear. It makes his battles uninteresting. Even superman has a weakness.
Nice video Minty! Love the DP series thus far, 2 was awesome with Juggernauts best depiction to date, not sure if he's in DP3 but did see him climb out of that electrified pool in DP2..Time will tell, patiently await your DP2 review, love the Marvel videos!
Ryan Reynolds is not only a great human, he was born to play that role. I can’t imagine anyone else playing Deadpool that well. I’m not a big comic book guy (though I’ll watch most of the movies), but this is by far my favorite. Unfortunately, my 7 year old really wants to watch it… yeah maybe in like 8 years buddy. Lol
Reynolds Ryan is a really good guy and genuine. I saw him the first one in the theater and I was blown away. What he did for that kid is phenomenal. Thanks mentee I never knew that. STILL on of my favorites, and this is also one of my favorite Minty videos!😅
I love that Mario hoodie
On my top 10 list of best comic book movies of all time
I love the way cover everything Minty - careless whisper on a boombox
When it comes to actual marvel comics it's Ghost Rider for me. But when it comes to marvel movies Deadpool is definitely at the top of my list number one unless they finally release an r-rated Ghost Rider movie which is what Ghost Rider movies should be rated then we'll drop to number two
Minty is the only youtuber that can make “modern movie” video feel like it came out in the 80’s
Thanks once again Minty! Another banger of an episode, as per usual. Btw, you also win the 'hoodie of the decade' award. Cheers from California.
i live in vancouver and remember passing by on the over pass during filming of those car chase fight scenes. kinda fun hollywood north stuff.
Great video Minty
I remember being surprised how funny the movie was as a whole since basically all the commercials only ever seemed to show the same highway scene.
Great job. It sucks that the beef killed blade but I’m glad DP was there.
With you all the way!
Hey Minty, please do @10 Things you didn’t know about DeadPool 2.”
The only problem I have with Deadpool is that the character is literally immortal and nothing can physically hurt him.
He doesn't need to cover or avoid bullets and such.
He has nothing to fear.
It makes his battles uninteresting.
Even superman has a weakness.
I love that Juice Newton’s Angel of the Morning video is full of Deadpool comments!
Nice video Minty! Love the DP series thus far, 2 was awesome with Juggernauts best depiction to date, not sure if he's in DP3 but did see him climb out of that electrified pool in DP2..Time will tell, patiently await your DP2 review, love the Marvel videos!
I think the green lantern movie is as good as dadpoop. Easily both are great ❤😂
Ryan Reynolds is not only a great human, he was born to play that role. I can’t imagine anyone else playing Deadpool that well. I’m not a big comic book guy (though I’ll watch most of the movies), but this is by far my favorite. Unfortunately, my 7 year old really wants to watch it… yeah maybe in like 8 years buddy. Lol
it's always nice when hollywood gets it right (vis a vis casting)
Ryan Reynolds is brilliant as Wade/Deadpool. 😀👍
Reynolds Ryan is a really good guy and genuine. I saw him the first one in the theater and I was blown away. What he did for that kid is phenomenal. Thanks mentee I never knew that. He is one of the really good genuine Hollywood actors that is a genuine human man. I also didn’t know that he chipped in to take care of two people of the crew and pay them out of his own pocket. A decent man.
If you mix Snake eyes with spider man you get Deadpool
Love your channel and content! Would love for a 10 things you didn’t know about Can’t Buy Me Love and Just One Of The Guys. A couple of 80s cult classics.
