- This video tells the viewers all about Dev Anand's secret wedding that happened on the sets of his movie Taxi Driver (1954). Dev Anand secretly married Kalpana Kartik, his costar from the movie Taxi Driver (1954). The real name of Dev Anand's wife Kalpana Kartik is Mona Singha and she was discovered in Shimla by Dev Anand's elder brother Chetan Anand. Kalpana Kartik and Dev Anand met on the sets of Navketan Film's Baazi (1951) when Dev Anand was coming out of his love affair with actress Suraiya. Kalpana Kartik and Dev Anand acted in many movies together starting from Baazi (1951), Aandhiyan (1952), Humsafar (1953), Taxi Driver (1954), House No. 44 (1954) and Nau Do Gyarah (1957). This video shows exclusive photos of Dev Anand and also tells the viewers about the 4 witnesses who were present at Dev Anand's secret wedding.

Great fan of Devsaab. As a kid used to love him. Reason? His films never had a sad ending like Dilipsaab😊 You named Phani Muzumdar. We used to stay in khar surrounded by Film stars and all those connected with films. He was one of them, though never saw him. He was a good friend of my dad!! Always used to give passes for films mostly screened at Apsara theatre!!

Hi Rahoul , Chetan Anand's wife, Uma Anand's mother and Mona Singha were cousins and it was her idea that Mona Singha i.e. Kalpana Kartik would work in movies and thus became the part of Navketan Films and got married on 3rd jan 1954 to Dharamdev Devdutt Anand, Devanand's real name, and interstingly Dharamendra deol also got married to Prakash kaur in the same year in 1954 at the age of just 19 years in his hometown..punjab.
