Amazing chemistry? All Shahid and Kareena films were flop and panned. Only hit was Jab We Met that too after breakup. Chemistry my ass.
They have zero chemistry onscreen...mainly because Kareena's acting in her early career is Meh. They finally had a good film with Jab We Met, but they are praised individually as characters Geet and Aditya more than as couple onscreen. I liked him better with Amrita Rao as On screen couple even if they are just friends.
A movie doesn't have to be a hit to prove that two people have good chemistry. That's not the only factor. And definitely not the most important one.

2. There were also rumours that Shahid and Priyanka dated for 2 years.
3. The movie "Milenge Milenge" was released in 2010, however, it was made years before.
4. "Udta Punjab" was special because this was the first time that Shahid and Kareena would make a comeback on screen after their breakup.
5. "Rangoon" was also special as it has Shahid and Saif (Kareena's husband) sharing screen together.
Milenge milenge was delayed because of that MMS scandal came out which had both of'em that was also a reason for their breakup.

Shahid has made the most movies with Amrita Rao and they definitely make the best couple on screen.
Actually, that's a really good point. But, I think that was so early on in his career, that while it definitely showed his interest in diverse roles and stories, I think Kaminey marked his shift towards movie choices that showcased his real range of acting and potential.

When I was in school Shahid Kapoor was favorite of every girl in my class. He was actually heartthrob of all the girls with his chocolate boy image. JAB WE MET and Kaminey was like his kick start for the stardom.

Shahid Kapoor started his career as a background dancer but finally when he debuted as an actor, he instantly became the hearthrobe of the nation. In his initial days, he wasn't a great actor but he worked a lot on his skills. He dated Kareena Kapoor Khan and they break up in a very dramatic and bad way which affected him very negativity. He was the only actor in his days who gave 11 back to back flop films. Because of his "chocolate boy" looks, he was never offered serious roles and the entire break-up with Kareena scandal affected his career badly. Director of Haider, Vishal Bhardwaj helped him to revive his career by offering him his life changing role in Kaminey, where Shahid Kapoor found his love for dark roles n flexed his range as an actor....you can see his physical appearance change gradually so that he fits into darker roles...honestly I guess his second phase as an actor suits him more and with every film he is becoming better and better....

I think that breaking point in terms of a relationship that could have potentially changed the track of his career could have been his break-up with Kareena Kapoor, because immediately after Jab We Met (during the shooting of which it was rumoured that they had broken up) his roles starting diversifying.
Most of these songs are super famous, super hits in India... I became so nostalgic while watching, we used to dance to these on our school programs

Shahid Kapoor is one my top 5 favourite bollywood actors. Kaminney , chup chup ke , Jab we met ,Udta Punjab , Haider,Padmavat and Kabir Singh are such great movies and he acted so perfectly in all of them. He deserves more attention and recognition.

The fact that Jaby acknowledged that something about him changed after 2013-14 is very true. I am a true Shahid Kapoor fan and in many of his interview he did mention that after 2013 his career path took a turn. Be it his 2 bad relationships with Kareena and Priyanka or his choice of doing more mature and experimental roles. He has faced more ups and downs than any other Bollywood personality and I can definitely say that today he is one of the best and most successful Bollywood Superstar.
Shahid's career graph changed since Vivah, Jab We Met, Kaminey. He started experimenting more. All movies till Vivah he has played the guy next door/chocolate boy!
And Shahid-Kareena were a thing back in the day, hence so many movies! They spilt up during Jab We Met and then he was the talk of the town for a few years.

But I completely aggree that Shahid had it in him and hence he still in the industry after 17 years. His step brother also got a chance to star with shahid but couldn't shine as much. Not many know about him. I don't think his brother struggled to get roles too lol.

Just came be to revisit these reactions. They're still fun to rewatch. Also, it seems no one filled Jaby in on why Shahid's look accelerated. Spot on Jaby for guessing that his break up probably caused him to look dramatically different because that was it. He had a pretty bad break up with Kareen Kapoor whom he dated the longest during his unmarried life, to a point where they just would not talk about each other anymore. I think Shahid dated Priyanka to get over Kareena which also ended up not working out then he was convinced that dating a female costar was the worst idea... (he said it during an interview)

He did a movie called mausam. He didn't sign any other project while working on that movie and that time worked as a break kind of thing and he started looking more mature. He did play a role of indian air force officer in that movie
Shahid was at the top of his fame and game around 2009-10 but He rejected many movies to dedicate his time for Mausam and gave more than 1and half for it and it's failure took a toll on him and also his personal relationship (he broke up with Priyanka around same time) those 2-3 years was very low period of his life and that aged him faster.
