  • This video walks through the design and analysis of an NPN BJT Emitter Follower / Common Collector Circuit. I calculate the input and output impedances of the circuit using equations derived in part 1. The choice of bias resistor and RE resistor is walked through.
    I use LTSpice to model the circuit that's designed and show the currents and expected biasing to be as expected.
    I also demonstrate why the amplifier has a voltage gain of almost unity and how both the source impedance and load both play a role in defining the Zin and Zout values of the amplifier.
