      thanks! Though, I'm not with @ConductiveLabs I was just a friend of theirs before they started and then became their first Beta Tester... but yes, they do generally rock! And I did suggest the ability to have CV a while back. Who knows, maybe a MIDI to CV hardware attachment could be made by them at some point?

    I didn't even know the Blofeld could make all those sounds simultaneously! This is an amazing piece of kit!

    • @Genshi
      @Genshi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      bluestarorion to me, as of today, the Blofeld is actually the most powerful and deep synth currently on the market for the price. And it can actually play 16 simultaneous sounds (I have a couple of videos here on my channel showing the Octatrack driving 8 tracks of the Blofeld.) As for the NDLR, it’s been awhile since I’ve played a device that is so fun and simple to use that can bring so much musicality to your Synths. I’m actually really impressed (and I’m going to hate to give it back next week.)

    I really like the first part, very relaxing, was just sitting here at work (working) and listening to it. Looking forward to the next demos.

    Thanks for the video. Just a quick question, can you change the cord so it only affects some parts and not all? For example, when you make a cord change, can the note/s of the drone be left unchanged / unaffected? The reason I'm asking is because, for me at least, sometimes having all parts follow a cord change isn't always preferable. I hope this makes sense.

    • @Genshi
      @Genshi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! As to your question... good question actually, and honestly, I'm not sure. It's been a while since I've used the NDLR (I recently moved and still haven't unpacked everything) but I did just reach out to the Conductive Labs guys whom I'm friends with, and as soon as they let me know, I'll respond back to you with the answer.

    • @Genshi
      @Genshi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just got a reply back. This is what they said: "All the notes will change with the chord, but the drone is playing the root note so it will change depending on the root." I suggested that they might investigate if they can possibly add an option to change this behavior...

    • @sandkipper1
      @sandkipper1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for clarifying this. Yes, a firmware update to enable this option would be welcomed. @@Genshi

    Awesome, and very professional video. Only remark from me would be that all the sounds are rather lush and fill the spectrum, masking each other somewhat.
    This would be my way of working for compositions, ideas and live performance!
    The 2nd part is even more crazy and plain fun, stressing the bandwidth of the midi output without crashes or hanging notes. The NDLR allows you to dynamically and interactively play with musical theory and patterns in a professional way!

    • @Genshi
      @Genshi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it. And I completely agree that the sounds I chose were a bit too much; a bit overwhelming. On my next demo I'm going to pay more attention (hopefully) to the sound design; it will be the NDLR playing the Korg Minilogue and three Moog Mother-32s. Thanks again for watching and for the comment!

    Is it easy to set up the Blofeld to play multiple simultaneous sounds? Does it involve complex MIDI settings within Blofeld? Just purchased a NDLR and will also be getting a Blofeld soon.

    • @Genshi
      @Genshi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not too hard. You just go into Multi mode on the Blofeld and then assign each part its own Sound and MIDI Channel and that's it. I used to use my Blofeld with my Octatrack where the Octatrack can sequence 8 Tracks of MIDI on the Blofeld (the Blofeld can actually handle 16 Parts.)

    How does this fantastic device work in conjunction with inbuilt sequencers or midi lines from a DAW? Does it transpose or overwrite or mix up the sequence (assuming its on the same midi channel)?

    • @Genshi
      @Genshi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, though I haven't tried it yet, my understanding is that it can accept external sequences from either hardware or DAW to do things like transpose the keys, or switch patterns. This is explained more in depth on their Kickstarter page (link is at the top of my video's description.)

    How do you sequence chord changes?

    • @Genshi
      @Genshi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You'll want to send control changes from your external sequencer to the NDLR. Here is a video that explains it in detail (not my video.) fb.watch/3nMARl-L6A/

      Dude, read up on what this box can do. It's seriously more capable than $125 - many half decent effects pedals cost WAY more than that. Worth checking out some of the TH-cam videos too, it's a unique piece of hardware with some very original thinking behind it.
