Ofc he is fearless. He can one shot each of them, have a fast hands, mastered fast reload, have a wide 3rd POV, can turn his head like an owl, and even turn his entire body at instant. And all those monster look like they are in slow mo, lol. . On a serious side this might be a dream so the kid's capabilities might be dream-enhanced.
Makes you think where are his parents and what are they doing that the kid is left by himself, being sleep deprived _supposedly_ by playing toys 3 nights in a row

Judging by the information in the text about the Sleepy Ones, the room will likely start shifting in later nights. Since it pretty much outright tells you that you're fighting in your dreams. Which does explain some things. Like why you can't lock the windows. But given that it outright tells you that a bright enough light can 'wake them up', and thus end them... There's probably going to be other monsters. Possibly having to do with whatever is causing everything to make noise, more than just having it hide the sound cues. I can imagine the Sleepy Ones ending up being a 'support' role, in having them use the spores in something that has a mechanical effect. Rather than just a background detail.
I was about to write off the game until that happened. Wish there was a little more variety to the enemies though. It's just tall boys and "Nightmare Boy".
This game would be trivialized if the protag just turned his room's light switch on and put on an eye mask to go to sleep. But no... horror things gotta do some horror shit. 🤣

The sound design is nice. You can hear where a monster is coming, some like the door have distinct sounds too. There's a lot of distraction sounds, I like the random toilet flush as well. Some dog and a car etc. The window looks like it provides an extra barrier they need a few seconds on. They seem to have the pace down, new little tasks are added every night. The protag has that early FPS flashlight with minutes of charge.
6:02am, as the boy's mother and father are hastily removing their scary masks and black leotards and putting on regular pajamas: "Darling, are we good parents?"
_When your room is almost too neat_ You need lots of plushies on your bed, and multiple nightlights and flashlights to keep monsters away, I enjoyed the FNAF-esque style premise of this, because monsters at the window that look like giant tree branches and others under your bed from long weird shadows - and ones in your bathroom? - are always scary to little kids. The difficulty built a bit too slowly, but even with the last night, the nights seem too long. There was an older game called Night Blights that I thought was also clever. Everything with little kids having to thwart monsters makes for a cool game.
The scariest monsters are those that use the toilet. If you only have one toilet in the house then a single monster playing at shenanigans can really damper your spirits. Fun game. I like how monsters have all come to the agreement that at 6 AM they need to go home and get some sleep before their next spook shift starts. Good thing the lad has a flashlight charger in his room for his 20 second flashlight!
Hmm, the night light never falls off again in Manly's 2nd run of the 3rd night. Is that luck, or a feature? (Like a difficulty reduction after losing once?) I think having to put the night light back is the most dangerous thing, as you have to leave the most safe and defensible position (much like when you need to close the windows). Personally I think they should have some scenes between nights, as a reward for the player, that hints at the lore or something. I mean, I suppose people could enjoy it as an arcade game, but... even for FNAF, the new lore every night is the reward, right? If there's some sort of story/lore development every day, I think that could motivate the players more. (Just add a skip button for those who rather skip the cutscenes.) I think the nights probably could be cut shorter too, especially for the first two nights where not much happens. But, well, maybe I'm just not the intended audience. I wouldn't play this type of games either way.
Management horrors are always kind of cool, this felt a bit like a slow burn then bang at the end. It was cool a new mechanic was added each night. Maybe have some mechanics disappear and others appear, like how papers please the rules changed daily

I would've bet further development could go after the battery economy more directly, but that's actually already handled well by the hiding threats that demand more frequent attention or even block your charging.
I think you'll have to hide in the cardboard castle, run from the toy T-Rex/use the other dinosaur to save yourself, silence and/or talk on the telephone somehow, read the alphabet blocks either for warnings (i.e., it might say "run now!" or "behind you") and/or scramble words before they spell out an unalive threat, remove the Freddy mask from the innocent teddy bear before it turns into Freddy, and so on. Lots of potential. I'm looking forward to the finished game!
idk if Manly ever played Night Blights but looking for it I couldn't find anything. This game remnided me of that game some how and I haven't thought of that game in years lol
Its a great concept, but has two serious design flaws that trivialize it. The first is just how fast and efficient the torch is combined with how fast it recharges. The second is you can see everything from one room. My suggestion would be to give the torch a finite battery, then remove the recharge station. Then, make a second room, one with windows that cant be seen from the first room, preventing the player simply sitting on the recharge station all game.
