It is somewhat strange how Freddie Mercury's Barcelona album is almost never mentioned in these documentaries. It is actually some of his best work, it is a great album.
This is about Queen Works and not about his works out of Queen. Just that. Of course the Barcelona album with Montserrat is a masterpiece. Different of everything that haver made. Is like a unique precious and different ruby... Is the work of a life
My dad turned me onto the band back in the summer of 1980 by bringing home the album "The Game". Been a big fan ever since. I can't help why this documentary didn't start out with that album, its like they literally didn't even mention it to start with, it was the first album of the 80's by the band after all...
They were ahead of there time, they experimented with different genres and they made generational songs. They were all really smart talented musicians and there music holds up very nicely today,if you look around or listen you can hear “We Are the champions or we will rock you” even the song “The Miracle” still has lyrics that hold up today because we’re still looking for a miracle. So they definitely we’re in for the long run
I love both them songs. I heard them on the radio 2 days ago. Freddy was so talented and he made a mistake with his life or he'd still be here. It is very sad.
British media still talking rubbish about the great Freddie mercury. Bowie was a legend in his own right, but I can guarantee that Freddie mercury had no fear of Bowie, and was certainly not in awe of him, in fact, Freddie mercury's vocals on that track kind of carried David Bowie, at least to a extent he did. Freddie's vocal range makes that song special, while Bowie does a fine job, he doesn't exactly do anything that's hard to pull off.
My favorite song is These Are The Days Of Our Lives. Because this is the last song Freddie sang to us. And he was telling us goodbye and that through everything He still loved us. Then it was over.
I really dint think Fredie ever wrote songs about his illness. Was it all worth it was about all the work the band put out, don't you think;)❤❤❤ Freddie Forever❤❤❤❤
Enjoyed 1:06 of this...right up to the discussion of "These Are the Days of Our Lives" Come On....these interviewers know full well Roger wrote it about being a father. I've seen all these people in other documentaries...a bit disappointed in them. Otherwise, great retrospective
I think it's important that Roger wrote it, but he himself has talked about the song in relation to Freddie too. Twinned with the video I think it's hard not to think of his passing when listening to the song
Every Queen documentary has had mistakes from contributors who don't have great knowledge. Best to just shrug it all off as ignorance, and their personal opinions only.
" These are the Days of Our Lives " was written by Roger about his family and kids ❤💙 Roger did say the song came to a new meaning when Freddie's illness was known and song it being so ill.
Your analogy is just stupid. Most people couldn't give a shit about Queen Elizabeth of England. Her death affected nobodies life. She didn't give anything to her people, she only took. She also paid off the sex abuse victim of her son. If you think that's a good person, says a lot about you.
@@nancyblumberg4612 I've never forget John Deacon. I added him into my comment. And I'm truly sorry Nancy. The video was focused with Brian and Roger and Adam starting their tour here in Chicago. Its weird hearing a chronological review of this period of queen because as a millennial, Queen has always been an eclectic band. My mom had mostly Queen best of albums so for me they were always this kind of easy going tongue in check band that just did whatever they felt like.
I wasn't a Queen fan because I am Christian so I stayed away from rock but I watched the movie about his life and songs just touched my heart. Even though I am against that kind of life he lived because if he didn't ,he would still be alive . That part is very sad. He was brilliant and the guys in the band were also brilliant. They all wrote music and their playing was just incredible. I am going to order DVD's of Queen. I love their music and the live aid concert was absolutely epic. Someone of that kind of talent will be missed and the band Queen will never be copied. They were their own style and that's what made them so great.
@@cyberia7080 It's more out there now as artists admit to a lot of dark things that don't have a place in a person's life if you live a Christian life, which I do. Artists worshiping satan, saying they sold their souls to the devil, witchcraft, and more. Satan is the enemy. I hope this helps a bit. I am not judgmental of others' beliefs, that is why God gave us freewill to make our own decisions, choices about our lives. I hope you a good life and explore your own beliefs. That's my answer with respect.
I too am Christian and I question the music I listen to. Satan uses it to ensnare us. There are songs I won't listen too. I too can't approve of his choices but all of us make mistakes, wrong choices. I've made some that my like should have been extinguished. I have terminal illness now , not from choices. I don't judge. Freddie did have immense talent, a great frontman and a kind beautiful man. I don't know if you have seen any of the documentaries talking about why his voice was what it was. Many documentaries. God's blessings surround you. From a Christian sister.❤🙏
OMG, how dare 4 musicians do an album like Hot Space? How dare they experiment with different things? They should stick to what 'critics' like, right? Fluff that. No one talks about critics, but more generations will talk and listen to Queen albums. Including Hot Space. Get over it. FFS
In physics and on the light spectrum, black is the absence of color. So black is the absence of all colors, while white is the presence of all colors. This means that when all the colors of the spectrum are combined, we see white, while the absence of all colors is black. Queen was diverse, innovative; Freddie Mercury performed different genres, dressed in a variety of outfits, Queen and Freddie were definitely the presence of all colors.
Fried chicken was an inside baseball type joke. By, for, & about. The band's experience of writing the song / creating the video. Not necessarily an irony laden philosophical question mark. The fact that it functions as one. ( though a happy accident ) Was probably not missed upon reflection. Lending itself very neatly to Fred's personal philosophy regarding song writing. He wanted you to interpret the music for yourself. Find your own meaning. Well done. Fred would be happy!

He had enough ambition for the others. I wonder how far any of them would have gone without the others. A lightening strike for sure.
I'm so tired of hearing the music on Hot Space referred to as disco. There is no disco on that album. There is funk and R&B. There's a difference!
