One of the best documentary on Freddie. Thank you Alfie for making this, and your voice is beautiful. I just don't understand how anyone could say Freddie was ugly?!!! those eyes, cheekbones!!! Please?
I am so glad to have found this video. Freddie is my absolute idol. He was a fantastic looking man..I do not see how Bob Geldof can say he was not a nice looking man.
This was beautiful. in SO many ways. I sang opera in College. about the time of Live Aid. shortly after that, I was hiding from a serious problem. I never was privileged to see Freddie live. the good news is, SO many cameras were about to do so for me. and I have him, today. Choruses and even other singers try to play his songs, but they are working so herd to be perfect, the forget to feel the music. it is like the difference between human hands playing a piano or a player piano doing it via program. When you look at history, one fact always remains. no one gets out alive. in the end, everyone is but a story. it is up to each of us to make our story honest and as good as we can. Freddie Certainly did that.
After listening and seeing this I can now understand Alfie better. He is now a soul unleashed. He is free to sing and express his emotions. Thank you Freddie M and Alfie B. You both are a blessing in my life at this difficult time. I thank God for both of you. THANK YOU
Fabulous documentary! Thanks for sharing , this really needs to be screened again on mainstream TV. Alfie Boe should do a Freddie tribute album, he does the most amazing versions of his songs!! Do it Alfie!!
BEAUTIFUL , and i mean BEAUTIFUL documentary, very emotional, a very interesting point of view, loved it, best of luck Alfie 😊 and to dear bob, Freddie was beautiful darling, those eyes!!!!! , are you kidding, maybe by typical British standards he looked unusual, but dear come on!! ❤️
I'm so glad I watched this. I never heard of Alfie Boe but I don't think I'll ever forget him. This was a beautiful tribute to Freddie. To Mr Bob, some of us think Freddie was good looking throughout our soul's 💕
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the interviews of the people who knew Freddie. I visited the Queen recording studio (museum now) in Montreaux, Switzerland earlier this year (2016). When you were standing in the exact place where Freddie had sung his last words, I could sense your emotions... perhaps emotions that you had wished that you had met him..such as mine... Tears rolled down my face as I love him like you do. Thank you for this heartwarming documentary. Freddie lives!.... through all of us..
You can’t say Freddie Mercury is a good looking man? Well, Bob, you’re right, Freddie was absolutely gorgeous, not just good looking. Can fans say that about you?❤️👨🏻
"Four geezers, on stage, wall-to-wall hits, 17 minutes, thanks very much, goodbye, and it's remained in people's head for 30 years now. That performance, extraordinary!" I'm not sure whether that is a backhanded compliment or a forehanded insult, but it is a memorable quote.
Freddie and his voice and energy kept me going back in the old days. Alfie keeps me going in the new days. Beautiful tribute to a legend of beautifullness, x
Freddie has saved the life of many and continues to do so. Either with his music or his life story.Amazing, amazing human being.Loved and missed even after 28 years of his death.
FREDDIE WAS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE _AND_ OUT! HE HAD THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOFT, SENSUAL EYES WITH SUCH SOUL AND A WICKED GLEAM IN THEM! SO HE HAD AN OVER-BITE!! SO WHAT ?! THEY WERE PREFECTKY CLEAN AND HEALTHY! GELDOF IS JEALOUS OF FREDDIE`S TALENT AND SUCCESS! AND BLOODY HELL BOB! ADONIS YOU AIN`T!!!!!! RIP DARLING FREDDIE WE MISS YOU VERY MUCH.
Freddie always looked as though he washed, which is more than can be said for Mr Geldorf, Freddie also has considerable talent, amazing vocal range and ability to master a variety of musical styles
@@joannagodfrey5111 Also Geldoff is a hypocrite as while he was telling us all to give money to live aid he was busy tax dodging and not paying his taxes the mans horrible .
it was a lot of work, the interviewee shared....they had to de-thorn hundreds of roses. . . Surely never thought of THAT. Couldn't hurt himself (and I suppose those who caught them). Hmmm. Loving QUEEN. So glad I found this video.
I found myself as captivated about your journey as Freddie's. Thank you - for the glimpse into both of your souls. Please continue to make music. If you sing it, I'll buy it!
This is a beautiful documentary. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, Alfie. I also wish I could meet Freddie one day and tell him how much he inspires me.
I mus admit I never really listened to Queen until I watched the film Bohemian Rhapsody. Apparently, the actor who played Freddie took almost five years working on the part. What a beautiful person and songwriter!
Alfie I’m happy for you’re looking up to Freddie!! So many people should what disgusts me is Geldof s comments - if it weren’t for Freddie/Queen he would not have made the $$$ he did!! He should be more thankful and less critical of this brilliant man and Legend!!!
If it makes beloved Montserrat happy to have the crossover introduce and win over rock fans to opera, I wish she could hear and see the reaction videos to the 3 Barcelona performance videos. I 've been watching. Most of the blog owners knew of Freddie (though surprised by his appearance here), but most, were totally unfamiliar with opera and hadn't a clue re Montserrat; an amazing variety of mainly young people. Many wouldn't venture to pronounce her name and many put it thru a meat grinder! But to a man, the jaws dropped as soon as she opened her mouth, of course. Don't know why that makes me cry or laugh uproariously ( the guy in the dark basement [or subway tunnel! ] smoking a bong who said the chick has pipes laid me low,. And I love the ones who are touched by Freddie and Montserrat's adoring interactions..."Look how she looks at him!". Ah, Montserrat/Montsy you remain an absolute wonder. And what a heck of nice guy and stunning technician/creative musician is Mike Moran, What a trio!
I hate it when men and men only say Freddie wasn’t good looking, jealous much? He was so good looking I guesse other men couldn’t stand the competition
Brian gets forgetful. Freddie performed with Ibex in Liverpool and smile were at a different venue but they went to watch Freddie. This was 69, they had known each other since 68, Freddie went to college with Tim the lead singer of smile. Roger said they were impressed with his stage performance but wasn't sure about the singing! They did an encore with him. Roger said when Tim left they were giving up. Freddie encouraged them to start again with him
At 29:50 Did he really just say "you can not say Freddie Mercury is a good lookin man"?! And also said Johnl, Roger, and Brian an odd looking bunch of people?
Why does everyone say they had disappeared before live aid!? They didn't tour the us so the works didn't do well there. Uk it was no 2 uk album charts. Ga ga no 2 Brake free no 3 Hard life no 6 Which they toured in the uk
I never understood how Bob Geldrof could say Freddie Mercury wasn't a good looking man, I guess he was supposed to be a friend of Freddie Mercury's but obviously Bob Geldrof never looked at himself in the mirror. He never looked like he took a bath in 30 years. Bob Geldrof always had a dirty look about him, besides not having any musical talent.
He had a great idea for a great cause, lied to all the artists to get them on board.. and does not have a clue what a good looking man is. I still appreciate what he did with Live Aid.. Queen’s performance has been considered the greatest performance of all time to this day. He should thank them, and Freddie.
Freddie? Idealist. Except he was 200 years too late to save opera. It is a done cookie cutter, and that may be what drove Freddie to try to do some CPR on opera-but alas; it was already a fossil, fully long dead, whose life blood is pomp, an echo from the past, and self approval and importance. It can all be started over, for only that can save it, when the Prophet's Song becomes reality. Tell Brian that time has arrived.
"Like going to see royalty"... he was. "Great, great friendship" brings me to tears every time (and I've watched this many times).
I watched almost every interview about Freddie and Queen but I see this for the first time!! More people need to watch this!
May the angels watch over you forever Alfie

Definitely the greatest Rock Star a complete one off
He saved my life, too. Great documentary, Alfie. Thank you.
I knew it was you as soon as I saw you, and had to look up this video. I believe Freddie Mercury would be happy to be part of your journey.

That's what jealousy produces, Patricia ....
Lol, Coming from Geldof. In all Geldoff's music videos back in the day, I always looked away!

Probably can't get past the teeth. But who really cares about his g.d. teeth? Also, let's face it -- Freddie had an enormous...gift.
@@Barbara-dq2fy how can you say that? Did you see it? Is there any video or picture where that is evident? His gift?

Thank you Alfie for recording this video, such an amazing insight to Freddie’s life
why had I never seen this documentary before ? It was simply amazing and super interesting ! Thank you Alfie Boe ☺️
Thx very much! Still smiling. Specially after hearing Alfie singing 'The Show Must Go On':) Freddie just had it all.
This is a beautiful documentary. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, Alfie. I also wish I could meet Freddie one day and tell him how much he inspires me.
Amazing story Alfie I never knew the talent of Queen and Freddie’s talented passion.

Freddie Mercury was beyond incredible.

small world So nice to know Alfie Boe liked Freddie who was a genius
FANTASTIC !!!
Freddie Mercury is my favorite singer I'm 44 and first heard his voice when I was 6
scratch that I was 8 the song was another one bites the dust
Montsarat cabelle explained how disciplined opera was but Freddie taught her how to enjoy music and sing in a way she hadn't before
I hate it when men and men only say Freddie wasn’t good looking, jealous much? He was so good looking I guesse other men couldn’t stand the competition

I prefer Michael and Alfie to Queen!! Alfie...you are a MASTER!
Sad because it is blocked in Canada due to copywrite :( is there a way to watch this elsewhere? Or unblocked?
That's strange Jennifer, I uploaded it and I live in Canada and know others from Canada have viewed it also....
RIght now, several other people have uploaded the whole show. Have you tried them too?
There are a couple of links with foreign subtitles found here. Maybe they'll work for you. Hope so :)
PS, yes, Freddie WAQS beautiful!
Why does everyone say they had disappeared before live aid!?
They didn't tour the us so the works didn't do well there.
Uk it was no 2 uk album charts.
Ga ga no 2
Brake free no 3

Blame the movie.
