I’m not a big fan of the looks, but the tech and features are soooo good. It’s no wonder Europe and America are so terrified.
They have this thing called National Insecurity.. Gotta respect that.
@@micevolution6824it is a car.. the obvious reason western car company unable to compete price wise.
I was in China recently and I was shocked at how many car brands that I have never seen or heard of before, the majority of the cars on the road where Chinese only brands. They were almost exclusively electric and by the look it, only a handle full on years old or newer. Personally I would be interested in the Zeekr 001 model but if 9 brands are coming there will be a lot of good competition for the model segments that are popular around the world. Other than utes/pick up trucks, no one in Chinese cities drives a ute. Tesla and the other major car manufactures are going to have to step up or they will be overtaken.
Also you don't buy a car from showroom in China, you get it from a 'shop' in a shopping mall.
The interior quality of this is way better than the Volvo EX30 which uses the same platform. Strange this that the Chinese brands are just offering better materials on the interior at better prices.
Did they show you the "pet mode", which transform the rear seat setting into a pet friendly space? It is a very clever design. I reckon it looks far better than a Tesla.
That is only on the 4 seat version, where the rear center console can be removed and the two seat bottoms fold upwards to create space for a pet. His test car has a rear bench that seats 3, which does not fold.
Please advise them to bring the Zeekr 001 FR I want a replacement to my Mercedes E53 AMG. With 15-day visa free travel for Australian passport holders just do a walk around, look at the cars and explore.
@amjedali5164 - are you planning to goto CHN soon for a 2 week visit to look at the Zeekr LHD cars? was hard to understand the way you typed your sentences.
Great idea, maybe I should run a car shopper/ enthusiast tour of some sort.
@@linket definitely there is a market for it bruzzy, just make sure you get back into Australia on Day 14 (if date you leave Australia is Day 01). Do your research where all the bEV brands open to the public viewing shops/showrooms are and book some decent hotels [4 star, 5 star] closeby and take them to lunch and dinner (book a hotel that has free buffett breakfast). and make sure the money you charge covers the return airfare + hotel stay + hire van transport + lunches + dinners + your personal profit amount
@@_Sensei_8 international licenses are not recognised in China currently, (maybe track day/ closed circuit would be possible.) Otherwise it'd be great to offer test driving experiences.
The CMA platform was headlined by a bunch of ex-SAAB engineers. In a way some of the Lync & Co and Zeekr cars are as close as a modern day Saab you'd get.
I just miss SAAB so much 🥲
@@brennuscarolus During the great recession both GM and Ford were on the verge of going under and looking to divest some of their European brands. Geely reached out to Ford offering to buy Volvo and I believe BAIC reached out to GM looking to buy Saab. But in order for these Chinese automakers to have a go at taking over this pair of ailing Swedish brands, they needed two things. First the American owners of the platform/engine etc must be willing to license that tech to the future Chinese owner, to tide them over while they invest in new platforms/tech for these brands. Secondly the Swedish owners of the BRAND itself, Volvo AG, and Saab AG, must be willing to let the new Chinese owners continue to sell these cars using their well known brands and logos.
Both Ford and Volvo AG were willing to do these two things, and even sold Volvo to Geely at a fairly low price. But neither GM nor Saab AG were willing to do the same for Saab. Thus 15 years on, Volvo is still around, and about to become a fully electric brand, while Saab has long been defunct.
Oh gosh I drove a Lync and Co in Italy last year and it was absolute garbage.
9 brands from China. That alot of entries. Feels like quite a squeeze
More compiattor, less increased price tag for other brands, not too bad.
@@davidliang7855 problem is that more doesn’t mean better. Zeekr is one of the more refined brands coming in. Imho.. omoda should withdraw.. hopefully trumpchi (maybe with rebrand) .. gwm is going great.. the rest think isn’t really suitable for the market. Think it just slices the market too thin.
watch out for the Japanese car prices to drop like a bad stock market day
@@mymingyenChina is changing up the car market,,, no more bs basic variants, everything is premium . We’ve been tricked to think that leather seats is soo much better than non leather etc

I like the look of it, interior looks good, exterior looks good, I think Tommy had an in-ear speaker, the boss said get that crazy saucy guy back into the pits right now before he crashes it 🤣🤣😂😂
Because Australian car testers are always crashing cars at events like this.
Tesla is in BIG TROUBLE! Great review.
I dont think so
WHY? Less range, less room, less charging infrastructure, at a higher price.
I’d buy a Model Y anyday over this for a comparable price.s
People who will buy a Tesla will always buy a Tesla....Same for people who buy Apple and any top Brand. No, Tesla is not in trouble....legacy car manufacturers.....OH YES!!! GM, Stelantis, Honda, and many of the other big companies will be the first to collapse. Tesla will take 25% of the global market, the Chinese with 50% and the last 25% divided among all the other brands. Its going to be a blood bath......
Once the Model Y gets its facelift in the next 12 months, it’ll have the nicer interior, better range, better comfort all at an unbeatable price.
I bet it's got all those very annoying features. All reviewers turn them off before the review, but just go and test any new car, and they nag you nonstop! We recently test drove the new Kia EV5 AWD, and we will be keeping our EV6! No nag looking away from the front even for a few seconds no nag going over the posted speed limit by 1kph! Sure, you can turn them off once you get through several menu's, but each and every time the car is switched off its all back on!
OMG THE ACCIDENTAL DOORCLOSE ON UR CAMERA WAS SO FUNNY🤣, I ACC LOL'D OUTLOUD
Simply an incredibly sweet video, I expect more from you!💗💗
tommy seems like a really smart and kind kid, can trust him no problem! you are in the right hands mate!
It's funny that this car doesn't even compete on sales in China but ......... wait for it!...... it will kill the MY in Australia..... like the Volvo EX30, Polestar 2, EV6, Ioniq 5, BMWs etc... all were supposed to do!
Add it to the list!😂😅
The Chinese words says ‘Extreme Nitrogen’ which is the Zeekr battery manufacturer company.
Mine translated it as ‘Very Kryptonian’ 😂
🤣
the start price needs below 45k,otherwise its too expensive for current aus family
Yes, 45k is the ideal price for most people, albeit the car in China only sales for 35k.
I miss cars being less than $30k.. Camry was less than 25k….. let’s have higher expectation please
Too many very expensive cars now
What rock do you live under
What about Volkswagen T-Roc, Citroën C3 Aircross, Toyota Raize, And Seat Arona?
Shits on all those. Way more features and performance for the money

The point being it murders them before it gets NEAR Tesla.

Hey Matt, may I translate this video into Chinese and re-post it on a Chinese video platform?
In the event that something happens to Daddy Jacob, God forbid i hope not, BUTTT hear me out, if it doesss, pls, fly Tommy out to Australia, marry him, which allows him to stay in the country, then divorce him, and then we have a new dadsy😍😍😭😭🤣🤣. My plan is flawless.
Why do all the Chinese cars have seat designs without adjustable headrests?
What happened to your mate Jacob who also reviews cars ? He keeps your enthusiasm in check… 😂
60k starting alot for quite a small SUV?
Interesting.
I like my Atto 3 more in terms of interior style and size, but surely Volvo are going to lose sales to this if it's priced cheaper than the 30. With the Atto 3 going to $47k now, I guess sales of this are going to depend on if the 'hot hatch' crowd take to it.
Australians are most likely to follow USA and impose tax and putting barriers to Chinese EVs. Even though China is Australia's biggest export market with about 122 billion US $, and USA with 13,5 billion. !
I doubt it. There is a simple reason places like the US, EU, India, and Canada are looking to impose tariffs. All these places have major auto manufacturing industries, so they must look to protect those jobs or else the Chinese will flood their market with cheap EVs and drive their domestic carmakers into bankruptcy.
Australia used to do this too to protect its major domestic auto manufacturing (Holden, Ford, Toyota, Mitsubishi), but all that have gone away for a good 10 years now, and Australia no longer has a domestic auto manufacturing sector to protect, so they don't particularly care who is coming in selling cars in their market.
I very much doubt that, Australia's key and single buyer of it's lucrative export goods like wine, lobsters, wheat and iron ore is China. Whereas it has no local automotive industry to protect. Australia has much more to lose from a trade war with China than the other way around.
I can't quite put my finger on it but there's something different about Jacob this week. Haircut?
Less muscles?
So good looking
The man in his passenger seat? Ikr.🥵. Love the way he said of course🤣
@@ezy.from.now.on. not that man in his passenger seat. I mean this car is very good looking. Lol
@@anselono2835 I know that, was obviously joking, but not about Tommy🤭
@@ezy.from.now.on. I think Matt he is quite cute through. Lol
i think it is unsafe because there are no door handles on the outside of the car, which can be a problem in accidents or electronic failures.
I'm not sure why you keep comparing it to the much larger Model Y? It's more Atto 3 sized isn't it? If it's $60K that's too much even given the luxury inclusions. I'd rather have the RWD Model Y with more space and range. But any way - each to his own.
It's a nice design. Distinctive without trying too hard like the Koreans these days. Yet still manages to look clean. But the thing with Chinese cars are, yes the lack of physical door handles and flush door handles do look cool and high tech, but safety wise, they posed a hazard. Still needs mechanical overrights.
Incredible acceleration, but unfortunately to me its design is ugly. BYD does it better.
Gonna review 007?
Yes pls
The doors (lack of door handles) are a no-go in my book.
Better interior space packaging than the Volvo EX30
Model Y is bigger than zeekr X , however its interior is superb.
still LFP loaded on the thing?
No reviews with company sales people on board pliz!😅😊
People who knows even a little about drive dynamics knows byd would not be able to compete with tesla in near future
Tesla is designed to be driven by computer, not human. But we human still want to drive a car, not being driven by a computer as we still trust a human driver more than a computer. China does have cars driven by computer but they are mostly used as driverless taxi in some area!
Look at how many accidents by human drivers yet we still trust our reactions more than that of a computer.
@3:34 - the badge seems to translate in English to "Extreme Nitrogen" or even "Very Kryptonian"?? Strange!
That's the brand's Chinese name. It's named after a gas that "lights up when electrified". Zeekr sounds similar to the Chinese pronunciation.
@@antihypocrisy8978 That's interesting to know! Thanks for clarifying.
like the virus?
Looks odd.... key looks like something you would easily drop too.
it is damm great news we are getting many EV brands without idiotic tariff like EU. But if this car start from $60k not sure if people would buy Tesla instead?
That’s why Tesla are dropping prices drastically
yes new brands need some time to earn trust.
but at least in China, Tesla is known for its lower price, less equipment and inhuman ergonomics, its more a budget choice now.
but like Apple, there are a lot of crazy Tesla fans in China too, no matter what they will buy Tesla.
Tesla are known in China for reliability compared to other models

Looks more like a Tesla model 3 competitor than a model y in my opinion.
It is way smaller than a Y. and even smaller than a Model 3. Really more of a MG4 competitor, except far more luxurious.

@@julianchung9215 Is that an offer?
Isnt that dangerous for it to unlock the passenger door with one button on the touchscreen? What if you do it accidentally in a parking lot? Will it hit another car?
Door has sensor to stop before it hits any obstacle in its way, in fact people in china are complaining that its TOO sensitive so sometimes even a person standing in front of it it will refuse to open, it good and bad thing i guess

The mrs would love this to replace her 4 yr old Honda HRV. I'm holding out for the BYD Shark to replace my 2016 Amarok
I got a couple translations with google translate… “extreme nitrogen” “very kryptonian” “extremely chlorine”
The 2 Chinese characters at the back (left), when pronounced in Putonghua/Mandarin, sounds like Zeekr in English.
word to word, its extreme kryotnian. I think superman will hate the brand.
On one hand, I do love how high tech and cool these new EVs coming out of China are, but on the other, after driving the new Suzuki Swift it highlights how incredibly good the Japanese still are at building cars that do everything well.
Before CCP money: Chinese cars are garbage
After that sweet CCP cheque clears: This is the best car ever!
Ever since the Chinese company Geely bought Volvo, it has been expanding and releasing some amazing cars... I reckon Geely should just bring in the Geely coolray sport(binyue), azkarra (boyue) and okavango (haoyue) here in Australia, they are doing so well in Asia
I wonder from all these new brands coming to Australia how many will last the distance or how many customers will be left with a dud car
Geely is a massive company, they own Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, London Electric Vehicle Company, Farizon, RADAR, and Cao Cao Mobility as well as a number of other local brands, the number of manufacturers is thinning out there locally as they go bust, so these bigger companies will be fine as they have the other big brands behind them
@@-PORK-CHOP- @theodociocozanitis5437 - that's life, just like Bonza Airlines, and Tritium went el-busto
@@-PORK-CHOP- Massive company or not, Polestar has been found to be rubbish and we don't know how good Zeekr is in the area of build quality. If you don't believe me JC (Auto Expert) has just made a video about how EV's and Polestar in particular are worse than most ICE cars according to US research. It appears China has not shaken the junk title as yet. I say this while I own a BYD Atto3, and may have jumped too soon. I got a trade value on my 2023 EV with 34,000 kms and it was $23,000. Had I bought an equivalent value Camry it would be nearly double that.
@@_Sensei_8 too many manufacturers supplying cars to a very small market . If sales ( profits) are not what companies expect they will pack up and leave
@@theodociocozanitis5437 I dont you how about it in Australia, but in China by law a manufacture need to stock different quantity of spare parts for after sale service for any car you want to sell before getting the government license. so even if the company bankrupt, the spare parts can support maintenance or repair requirement for at least 8-10 years.
