      Stuart P Yes I know. It is easy to get caught up in self pity which I don't think I do. As I have told those around me repeatedly, it could be soooo much worse. And clearly you have illustrated that for me and others. Good luck in your efforts!

    Great video. I used the Nanoskin AutoScrub Fine Grade Wash Mitt on my fiance's 07 Avalanche today.This is the first time her truck has ever been clayed. I liked the way it worked. I had no issues with skid marks. The worst area was the tailgate,it felt like sandpaper in the beginning. I used Optimum No Rinse wash in a bucket to soak the mitt and a stronger mix of Optimum No Rinse as a lubricating spray. Thank you for sharing your video's,looking forward to see what is next. Sorry about your bicep,hope you heal quickly. Happy 4th of July!

    I always use the blue nanoskin sponges when claying. I also always have a wet microfiber (rinseless solution) towel over it. Never had a problem with it in direct sunlight black or dark vehicles. Thanks for the great videos!!

    A local detailer I met doesn't clay! For "efficiency" sake he uses a clean old rupes pad with some compound to quickly clean and decontaminate and goes right into a one step or AIO. I was shocked but his results were great... Have you ever done this?

  • @tomtom255
    @tomtom255 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I recently picked up the medium and fine grade speedy prep sponges and for doing a car quickly and picking up the majority of contaminants I'd say they do an excellent job. However there are still some instances when the prep sponges won't remove certain things and I use the clay bar.

    Just got the fiancé a new to us car. 2012 optima with only 14k miles so it really is essentially brand new. Problem is someone did a hack job of paint touch up on one of the rear quarter panels.
    Is my best bet to just wet sand the area and touch up any spots that need it. Then wetsand and buff?

    Darren did I hear you right you have a clay bar that's years old? i been throwing them away after one use! how do you maintain them and keep them in working order!

    • @marcain123
      @marcain123 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those clay bars are black and he said they were originally red. So he's being cheap because he does this for a living. I understand that, but you really don't want to be using a clay bar that is too dirty. You'll just end up damaging your paint.

    • @4G12
      @4G12 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeschitown
      Personally, I throw them away when I cannot get a reasonably clean surface i.e. no visible specs of embedded dirt no matter how I kneed and turn it after U have manually removed what I could see. Throwing away clay bars after just one use is just needlessly wasteful IMHO unless you have worked on paint so bad your clay bar gets clogged up with contaminants after just one use.

    hey brow !! I want to remove wolfgang deep gloss 3.0(sealant) of my paint, I´ve applied make some 2 weeks, do you know a good way to remove that sealant of my paint propely? Do you think that Iron-x can do this job? hugs !!

    Why claybar desintegrates whem I use water with soap, during the process of claying my car ? Whem I use quick detailer the clay just be fine, just don´t desintegrates. Hugs!!!

    • @JACKSchannel1100

      use a light one and if it takes a lot of rubbing to smooth the surface then a more aggressive one would cut the time down

    I, one of your viewers and a possible.. "ignorant clients" as you state in you video, do not appreciate this kind of talking down you present online. Why is it that your presentations have to include proud contempt of others?
    Please stop “bigging yourself up” in your videos. They seem only to serve making undue claims in an overbearing manner.
    What about the video:
    "Car paint scratch:You can't fix what you don't understand!"....best auto detailing tips...really! Please come down from your car detail pedestal.
    For starters improve your overall video experience and stop making your self better than you are. In one video, it almost sounded like you disliked this client of the Audi just because of his social status and because he lived in a upscale and maybe, for you unreachable area of town.
    -why do I need that info? Where does social status tie into car detailing? Stay focused please.
    Want to improve your channel views?...watch and learn from CHRISFIX and, AMMONYC. No talking down there. Just great well filmed, no arrogance advice.
    You mention the power of NO. Just remember that TH-cam viewers we also have the power to say NO!!
