Fun story to anyone who knows what shifting is. So I was just listening to this trying to sleep and like 10 minutes later I woke up in the compound and he was reading me this exact story
Feels like it's been a million years since I watched The Night Manager so the fact I recognized what was being read surprised me three nights ago when I hadn't fallen asleep before that segment for once! The breathing is a nice touch, since it's not snoring for once lol. Some snoring tracks are hit and miss for me lol.
In reality, It's 1:45 am. I'm having a rough time sleeping, and am also coming down with a cough. I put some Vaporub on my chest, as well as my feet. I'm sucking on a honey flavored cough drop. I'm covered with my blanket. I cover my eyes, shielding them from my light that radiates from the string of Christmas lights right next to my bed. I'm scared of the dark, so I have to have some sort of light on while I sleep. I'm feeling lonely. I often feel lonely when I'm sick. I turn on this video. It's soothing. In my mind, I'm laying in my bed in Avengers tower. I still am coming down with cough, even in this world. Bruce examined me earlier, and told me to get some rest, and he'll see me again in the morning. I'm laying in bed, wondering what prompted this tickle in my throat. I sigh, upset that I'm missing game night with the rest of the Avengers. I would be kicking ass at *CLUE* right about now. It's boring in my room. I attempted to watch some TV, but nothing seemed interesting. I'm feeling lonely. Suddenly, there is a knock at my door. "Come in!" I cough, my voice raspy. Thinking it must be Bruce, checking on me, or Wanda, bringing me some tea. It's neither of whom I expected. Loki stands in the doorway, holding a book. I smile, immediately understanding what he's doing. Often, he has nightmares. His room is right next to mine, and I can hear him screaming when they happen. When this occurs, I go into his room, sit by his bed, and read to him. My voice soothes him, though, I often wonder why. There's nothing special about my voice. At least, not to me. Loki has spoken of reading to me before. "Repaying you", as he puts it. The opportunity never seemed to arise. Until now. He closes my door, and crosses over to my desk, which is right next to my bed. He situates himself on the chair, opens the book, and begins to read. His voice is as smooth as velvet. As beautiful as wind chimes. As elegant as a palace. When he finishes a poem, he sometimes takes a moment to flick through the pages of the book until he falls on one he thinks I will like. Little does he know, I adore anything and everything he reads to me. His voice is heaven. I slowly drift off into sleep. I know this is like super long and no one is ever going to read it, but I just wanted to write idk akaksnsn

last night was a really rough night for me. i was dealing with a migraine plus a cluster headache and i kept waking up to throw up. i made it so this video stays on loop along with other videos similar to this and i felt safe and comforted every time i woke up

It’s like our car is broken down by the side of the highway, phones dead, and all we have for entertainment are some books and a flashlight until the tow truck comes. It’s kind of charming.
