That motor does sound good. I remember those foggers in a small Kansas town from the 50s and 60s. I didn't know they used DDT.😮 I think I'd rather have gotten the skeetter bites that we got anyway. They never bothered me. I have a hard time seeing what you are doing a lot of times. Can you zoom in your camera more? See ya!
I've seen this issue many times on SBC. I once had a customer try and warranty a SBC long block because it smoked like a chimney. Turns out it was his intake install. Hmmm ... Not sure about your torque wrench setup ... I would think there are some leverage calculations at play doing it the way you did it. I hope you didn't over-torque them.

@donopp5850 Me and you both! I did sneak up on the torque setting in multiple steps though. More than 3. Nothing felt bad during the process.
Did this happen before or after you did the alignment?
before, during after.... gradual. the alignment shop is a good shop.
