I definitely do not know when yugi got black luster soilder envoy of the beginning.. If gx started 10 yrs later then im guessing he got it in between those 10 yrs.. The show should've explained how he got it.
I know that this is based on the Grand Championship season but it feels wrong a Kaiba anime based deck without Polymerization w/ Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Vorse Raider (his go to Lv4 monster) and Crush Card Virus (his main trap card).

It was on display in his grandpas card shop during the series. Safe to say he got yugi got it from him.
