There is a need for manufacturers to provide good videos of front facing installations. They are more difficult, and manufacturers don’t want to show those. Manufacturers also need to sell front facing setups. Do they really think everyone buys car seats for infants?
Jack, to schedule a car seat installation or checkup, call Stillwater Fire Department headquarters at 405.372.0516 to request assistance. If you are not in the Stillwater (Oklahoma) area, we recommend contacting your local fire department, police department, health department or hospital to see if they offer car seat checkups or have a car seat technician. There is also information at safekids.org that might be helpful. ~ MK
It’s good to see this Officer knows to put the seat behind the driver side! NOT in the center of the rear seat! It’s why clip in models on all vehicles only have the attachments on the driver side or passenger side! The only time a child seat is put in the center is with specific child seats and specific model Vans and SUV’s with a specific type of side impact airbags!
Thank you for your question. The center position does have benefits of being center of the vehicle with greater distance from an impact. Not all vehicles will allow a child restraint (car seat) in the center position. This is because of seat configuration. Some care providers prefer side position for access to the child. LATCH systems are usually on a side position and are not always in the center position. Remember to check the owner’s manual for both the vehicle and car seat. ~ MK
Usually a small button/lever under the cloth on the front center (where their feet are) of child safety seat. Push button to give slack to straps. Let go of button, pull the rope below the button downward to tighten straps, leaving only enough room to be able to slide your hand flat side through the chestplate area. This makes sure they have breathing room, but not allowing any loose wriggle room. *regardless, read your safety seat manual, as well are car manual to be safe always. Since they can vary.
The safest is rear facing and should be used for as long as possible. Often parents don't know about it as they were growing in times when even any car seats were rare thing
I’ve been trying to find the forward facing latches forever. Your video pointing out the buttons saved my sanity. Best Video Ever!!!!

Can the car seat be in the middle or should it be by the door?
This is a good question. I’ve thought about it too. I put my daughter in the middle. That’s just me though.
always put the seat in the center to avoid T bone
Thank you.
Tks to u.

Great video but shouldn’t the car seat be in the middle in case of side impact?

The most accurate video,nice
Great video very helpful
Thanks 😊
Thank you!
Is it just me or does anyone else think that is was too loose?
I thought they were all supposed to be in the middle
I thought a convict with a mad tattoo was teaching me how to 😅 install my baby seat 💺
How do you loosen the straps in the front if they’re too tight?
Usually a small button/lever under the cloth on the front center (where their feet are) of child safety seat. Push button to give slack to straps. Wouldn’t you wanna use seat belt as opposed to latch system for a child that kind of weight??
As a new mom I thought the car seat had to face the other way to prevent harm

For a newborn, they absolutely must be rear facing. This is for an older child.
That is not tight enough!
For here to
Too bad I couldn’t hear you due to the loud music
RIGHT......so damn annoying!
This video doesn’t need music. Such a good video ruined by music

Baby
Someone has to come up with something much easier ... this is ridiculous.
It's pretty easy already 🤣
That loud music in the background is very STUPID!
Damn.....wish there would've been more of a closeup!! And get rid of the annoying music!!!!
Music is too loud!
