What you're doing to improve your trailer will pay back in pride and value both. You are saving a TON of money by doing it all yourself! Not many folks can or will do what you are doing, Dan. We all admire what you can do - and all of us wish we could do the same! My best!

My husband and I drove team van several years ago and then he did some gas field hauling in the north east. We plan to retire back into a truck & have enjoyed watching many of your videos.
Curious if you are aware that reptile metabolism is much slower than mammals and they do not die for quite some time after decapitation. The most humane thing to do is to crush their skull and kill them quickly, if they absolutely must be killed. I know a lot of people are not aware of this and I'm sure no one wants a living being to suffer unnecessarily.

Like your channel. No sugar coating.
I pull a flat in NC. Sixteen years. This video is before you purchased your new trailer. I had a 2000 model flat that I worked on almost as much as my truck. I purchased a new one last year so now I just have to deal with the truck. It pulls better because the top of the trailer is firmly secured. The old one was not. The extra rigidity makes a big difference. The guy that welded the old one for me many times told me it was worn out so I finally listened.
On the battery. You probably know this but if you smell sulfur or "rotten eggs ", you have a bad battery and you just need to touch them to know which one. It will be hot. Replace asap. But I have overtightened the nuts on them and pulled it loose of the battery. Those nuts are always backing off so I have to tighten them at least once a week.
    out

Holy Crap!!!!! Been watching your "down time posts over the past week and I've been doing a lot of wish full thinking, seeing how nice your weather is and dry/warm your yard is, as I try to get some things done up here in eastern Ontario Canada. I just came in from outside, cussing at the snow squall and 34 degree temperature that forced me to stop what I was working on until it passed. Then I saw this post with the freaking rattler!!!!! Damn son.......I'll take the freaking snow over a venomous snake!!!! I've found the motivation to "suck it up" and I'm going back out to finish what I started. The biting cold isn't that much of an issue, compared to a biting snake. Stay safe brother. Oh, a few posts ago, the one where you sharpened your snake shovel. I thought to myself, "I wonder if or how often you actually need a SNAKE KILLEN SHOVEL!" Asked & answered.

I highly recommend a S&W "Governor". This is a very lightweight .45 revolver which should loads, for snakes, with a .410 shotshell. I would not live/walk around on property like yours with one ... I'm not a "gun nut", I don't even like gins much, but frequent snake encounters demand something more than just a shovel. In Arizona, I am sure you can "open carry" without much in the way of permits and another legal mumbo jumbo... The best snake is a dead snake, IMO.

You should carry a 22 with snake shot... Also, a long stick with a y at the end it is great to pin them down and dispatch them… I have rattlesnakes and cotton mouths along with copper heads... My Jack Russel was fearless and saved me one day and attacked a copper head as it would have gotten me, He went to the vet and is okay but now has nerve damage and effects him more now that he is old... I have never been scared of snakes caught them when I was a kid used a long stick with a y at the end to pin them down behind the head and just chop the head right off... I have a fear of spiders and do not like messing with them but snakes let me at them LOL! Thanks for your shows keep them coming, WWG1WGA!

Must be the year of snakes! I've encountered 2 in my business already. I've seen several in the roads around here! I hate snakes period! Even a dead snake bothers me!
I used rust- o- leum with a hardner for shine and Japan dryer! Dries in about a hour. And a nice slick shinny finish that dirt won't stick.

A good old coon tailed rattling worm, they are about as common as fleas on a dog where Dan and Teresa live. Most of the time they let you know when you're too close or they just move away from you. Humans are not a preferred food source for them. Dan handled it very well, he has obviously had plenty of practice.

If you have vehicles that sit more then a few days, even every day drivers, I'd seriously think about putting battery tenders on the battery. A tender will not under or over-charge the battery and will extend a battery's life two fold or longer. I have five from Tractor Supply. I have mine wired up so I can just plug in what ever vehicle or law equipment I used via ' pig tails' that comes with the units. They will pay you back in battery life and battery security in no time at all. I know I kid a lot about Tractor Supply, however I'm very serious. Take care Dan, guess you are having oven baked snake tonight for dinner LOL.....
