NEW HOLLAND C362 IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST BUT DOES IT MAKE SENSE?

- Well I thought that I had a large skid steer and this thing makes mine look like a baby! This thing needs the right situation to truly shine! Once you find that this machine makes perfect sense!
Thank you Tyson for taking the time to review this unit. New Holland was generous in allowing us to move this unit around for demo and most importantly the feedback. The feedback is very important to New Holland as that is how they engineer changes to improve comfort, performance and overall customer satisfaction. Attachments of course vary depending on the application and the bucket they shipped was just a bucket they shipped. For the application that you used this in, a lo profile extended lip bucket would have been the right option. Loading tandem trucks, heavy loader work with bucket or pallet fork and with steel tracks, mulching application. Thank you again, Tyson for the review and the comments you made in this video will be forwarded to New Holland Construction. Very well done video and we appreciate the feedback, sincerely Gary
Thank you for giving me a chance to run it to day. I believe it could a very useful machine on the right situation for the right person
@@workplaytv Agreed. For the contractor using for heavy loading, salvage for automobiles, metal etc and construction/road building work. I would have liked for the noise level to be lower and I'm sure they will address that with more feedback just like what you have done hear. As always, we appreciate your feedback and your business. Thank you, sincerely Gary
We have this machine case 620b. Its an absolute beast. Run a fecon mulching head on it and its impressive, one of my favorite loaders to run. Puts the deere and cat to shame. Ride is rougher but the power and lifting capacity out weighs the ride
Awesome I’d love to see some photos! What head?
We run all fecon heads. We have 3 of them 2 go on our tv450 and 1 is on our 620b.
I own a 362. I don't believe you gave it a fair review. I demoed a 345 before buying the 362 and I still own a Kubota SVL95-2 in my fleet. I am a residential building contractor as well as a developer who owns the grading company that builds our own roads, installs our own utilities and preforms all of the grading on our new home construction.. For referanace , I have been in the construction business for 43 years and I own15 pieces of grading equipment. Excavators, dozers, tractors to pull pans, compaction equipment as well as farm tractors.
The 362 is much louder than either the 345 or the 95. but it is a beast. The 345 and the 95 have around 90 hp. The 362 has 114 and enhanced high flow delievers 41.6 gpm at 4100 psi. The gpm is similar on all 3 but the psi at 4100 and 114hp on the 362 makes an big differance when runnung our Gyrotrac mulcher. The higher psi and hp helps it recover rotor speed much faster and it mulchers larger material much more efficiently. The 362 is used for all the same tasks as the the other two except driving it on driveways due to the weight. The big diiferance is capacity. The 1.25 cy bucket makes filling garages and porches with stone much faster as well as moving larger amounts of any material. The hp makes root raking when clearing with the grapple bucket more efficient as well. I prefer rubber tracks for our use. I build every house in the neighborhood. You can't drive from lot to lot without loading it on a trailer with steel tracks. I haul it on a tandem trailer behind a Ford F550 most of the time. Rubber tracks are a personal preferance. Each size machine has its use. Every one has their own opinion on most things in life. We personally have not had good experiences trying to use a dozer blade on any CTL. You can not grade with a dozer blade on any CTL unless you can switch off self leveling. Self leveling makes the blade roll forward every time you raise up on the arms. If you need a dozer, you need to buy a dozer. not use a CTL. Make sure you have the correct machine for the job if your budget allows.
You should have taken the time to properly adjust the machine prior to operating and videoing. Your video made it look extremely jumpy. The EH controls have many settings. There are 3 presets. Slow, med, and fast. You can also customize all settings. Track reaction, boom speed, bucket curl speed, ect. You can adjust it to match the operators ability and reaction speed. These settings can be saved for each individual operator for future use. I have also saves settings for differant operations. I have a settings for bucket work, grading, muching, as well as raking bcause I want the machine speed to be differant for each operation.
Note for potential Buyers of a 362. It comes in 2 configurations. High flow plus and Enhanced high flow. Don't confuse High flow plus for Enhanced high flow. NH has done a poor job of making it clear for the consumer as well as their Dealers. High flow plus has 41.6 gpm at 3450psi and only one set of flt face connections. It does high and std flow out of the same couplers. There is a switch on the left column to change the flow. This requires make a convertor to be able to use your other low flow implements. Enhanced high flow has 41.6 gpm at 4100psi. It has an additional set of low flow couplers. They however appear to only put out 8 gpm. It is my understanding that these are for operating a door on a mulcher. I guess it might operate a 4 n 1 but I doubt it will operate other low flow attachments but I do not know that to be a fact. I stiil personally use my convertors.
Finally, I paid $ 114,000 for my 362 in mid December 2022. It is a nice machine and it is a beast, but it is not perfect. I have not found a machine that does everthing the way I prefer. Thats I own differant size as well as brands of machines. Most of the time my equipment manufacture of choice is based on Dealer support. Every piece of equipment will need support. Make sure you have a good Dealer for when that time comes.
Great grading work. Love the New Holland
Hello my friend, very interesting video as always, great machines, hope you have a great weekend 😊👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
great video, bigger is not always better, This 620 is very specific and i was almost about to buy one but realized its not as versatile.
I loved the reversible fans on their wheel loaders when we were loading fertilizer all day. It’s almost a must
Have feature in dusty conditions. We’d still clog up the rads with urea dust, but not as quickly.
The C362 I would use for clearing property. That’s why they make smaller skids for yard and landscaping jobs
Take care. Thanks for sharing✌️🇺🇸❤️
Definitely a beast of a machine...it would have been great to see your smaller bucket on there..and the new mulching machine...but one day isn't enough time...since it's a work in progress situation...it'll be interesting to see how the new mulcher...works out on the 345...Great video!
a low profile long bottom bucket is a must for that 362 it sucks not being able to see the cutting edge. they put that tall bucket on the 362 to skew the breakout force to make it have better breakout
Actually that is not true. The bucket breakout was achieved with the 84" extended lip bucket, not the bucket in this video.
Could you eventually put a pintle hitch on the dump that way show up with the dump and skid-steer? Your gen-y torsion has a nice slide in pintle lock 🔐 I've used it and I'm happy with it! That machine is a beast!
Absolutely
That's a nice peice of machinery. I have been debating on buying that exact machine or the Cat 299 D3 XE land management. The other option was the Deer 333g. I have a New Holland and Deer dealer local. The primary use will be mulching, but at times would be loading trucks and pushing dirt along with moving large round bales. This C362 just seems like such a beast. The price Tag is very steep, put it to work though and it could make sense. Thanks for the Video and keep them coming.
Good video brother. That thing is similar to the Case DL550 Minotaur
Identical lol
I am getting to know more about your equipment! COOL
Marie from Denver Colorado US@
I’m surprised you didn’t swap over to the bucket for your 345. That way you could feel like you’re being more productive with a more familiar bucket🤷♂️
Time was tight!
@@workplaytv Yeah that’s a bummer they only gave you one day to operate the machine and put it through its paces. It would be interesting to see you run the mulcher on that.
@@workplaytvyou have the low profile bucket on your 345. You’d get used to material bucket by watching top edge.
Beastly machinery and vehicles....and tools.... ALWAYS make sense 🤣
Very informative video, my bigger question is about the 345, has it been bulletproof?
No
@@workplaytv so you'll be switching to another manufacturer next time around?
Need to try out the case minotaur
I was quoted the case 620b, same thing for $115k us dollars just a few months ago
If it had a camera on the roof near the lights would you be able to see what you can't from the driver's seat ?
Yeah maybe
I need one!!!
Good review... definitely a beast... but not too agile
Good video! But as you say, that particular job didn't showcase the machine well. Also, are you sure your 345 is 100hp? Mine is 90hp... Maybe different up there?
Your right
I can only think.this would be a great muching land clearing machine but thats about it.
With steel tracks
What is the retail price of the 362 ?
114k
I’d like to see you get your hands on a Case Minotaur 550 lol
Same machine basically
Minus the dozer C-frame and ripper
Are the hydros really that super loud or is that your camera picking it up. Seems super loud and whiney and I know that is one of the only things I didn’t like about the case I had on demo. We actually just switched from ASV to Deere due to dealer support and I’ll say I miss my ASV. Little hydro noise and super smooth but just doesn’t have the capacity we need
Oh yeah they are loud!
I would use a machine with graded control with its size and inability to see the cutting edge
Monster. At some point the machine is so big it would be hard to crown a driveway, spin sideways and scoop out a ditch line in a driveway, back up a slope, etc.... would probably be better off with a small regular track loader. A 299 size cat is even too big for most jobs. 289 is about right for a larger CTL.
Quite the machine, but I would not like not being able to see the bottom of the bucket. Steel tracks would be my choice as well. Its a piece of equipment you would have to use constantly, to justify the high price. Good review for the limited time you had it Tyson.
I'm a pictuo County fell nice machine's I live in truro now matts icf and home constuction
Having run New Holland loaders for years it sounds and acts like the high speed is engaged. If that’s the case that would explain your issue on the hill.
No it was in turtle
It does look like a nice piece of equipment but if it doesn't exactly fit the work you do, you're better off with the one you have I guess.
I assume you wear hearing protection? Other than that, damn nice machine.
I would be in this
You have to just put a lower profile bucket on it
What a behemoth 😲For us CTLs are for landscaping you'd never be able to use that 362 for that you've got a bull in a china shop you'd destroy a yard it wouldn't fit any where. That machine has a place it sure isn't residential jobs. I wouldn't buy a machine that size if I needed a CTL, the company I worked for previously has a Kubota SVL75 the company I work for now a Cat 359 both similar size machines anything bigger it just doesn't work for what we do. Not sure if the camera amplified the operating noise, man that 362 is noisy inside the cab. LOL I know what you mean about not seeing the leading edge of the bucket, my old boss bought what we called the manure bucket it was a 1 yard bucket you could not see anything. It was a bitch to grade with I eventually got used to it. We had a 4 in 1 bucket which I preferred I took that bucket to jobs to my bosses chagrin.
that 362 is high and low flow they just run high and low out of the same lines actually most manufactuers do that you just flip a switch in the cab to select high flow
All other videos I watch they have them on opposite sides
@@workplaytv only one I know of that has ports on the opposite side is the case minotaur because it has the dedicated dozer blade and has extra lines for that but most machines have all hoses one one-sided and only 3 connections and run high and low flow off the same lines there only a few that have separate hookups for high and low flow new holland being one of them
@@windzer yeah this machine and that one are like brothers
th-cam.com/video/euDnuSgh8k4/w-d-xo.html
@@workplaytv nope I stand corrected they do have hoses tucked away on the opposite side on some c362 maybe that has to do with the enhanced high-low option idk what enhanced high flow is but I did see that listed separate from regular high flow maybe that runs a higher pressure for mulchers or something
where did you learn to run a skid steer? haha maybe you should take some lessons from letsdig18
Okie dookie
Change the buckets
I thought the 345 was 90hp.
That machine Moans like a 50 year old lot lizard !
I personally have no use for one of those or the Minotaur. Seems like a class of machine nobody asked for 😂
I’d rather have a 12k machine or a dozer. And no gooseneck needed, I’d haul a 16k skid on my 25k pintle trailer with one of the 5500’s 😊
Yeah you could definitely do that.
There decent for farm or something but for all day everyday Machine junk our company used them every day and they spent more time broke down then time in the field. Switched to cat. Cats have held up to the abuse better.
No issues with my 345
True. I've always noticed that about the New Holland machines. Not sure why. Weird leaks. Cracks in welds and structure. There seems to be some kind of design difference mentality for a farm grade machine vs fleet for heavy use. Power or size isn't always the most important.
Definitely steel tracks
The only way this machine makes sense is in a forestry application with steel tracks with a mulcher or a buncher head…those rubber belts will never stand up to what that loader will bring to the table and the average operator will never respect the power of that machine and those belts will just blow the frigg off!!..and I can only imagine it’s running around $150k…you would have to have a very specific need for that machine…
Can't see the bucket edge is lame.
Lots of machines you can't see the cutting edge and doesn't matter.
Wow, that thing is loud. It sounds like my old 86 Thomas 233. Horrible noise
362 makes 114 hp. The 345 makes 90. 24 hp difference. Not 14.
A mulcher
Those final drives sound terrible.I have a T870 Bobcat and it’s far quieter.
Guess I should have said drive motors not final drives.
It's to nosie
Look at your bucket compare to the other, you won’t be able to see the edge of your bucket.
So basically, buy a tl12
That bucket is totally crap!!!
6000 pounds more and only a 14: horsepower difference. Nah its a big pig . Lol
Ugh
I think I'll stick to my TL12V2
