My favorite band since 1983. It’s what I was known for in high school. Being the biggest U2 fan growing up in New England. And on a cold winter night while doing social studies I predicted U2 would be massively successful. Very proud of these four men. ❤
My auntie and godmother Gloria took me to see U2 when I was 12 at Sun Devil stadium What an experience! Bono's ethereal voice, the Edge's cutting guitar, Adam's bass embodying the soul, and Larry's beat that touched every emotion of every song! An enlightening! Four men that can encapsulate so many souls with their music and voice astounds me! I've been a fan almost in my years living, these fellas never disappoint! 😺❤❤❤
All my life U2 have accompanied me, there is not a day that I do not hear the music of U2. I get goose bumps at some songs, again and again, in some places I get emotional and get tears in my eyes, popular as you are and I hope we get to hear some more songs from you, I (we) would wish it. I love that Larry was sitting closest to the president during the reception at the White House. It is a true testament to the leader qnd founder of this band. As someone who grew up in the Seattle area who is fourth generation, Irish I couldn’t be more proud to see these four get this award and see Eddie sing that night. As a fan of U2, since I was a preteen, just feels full circle in many ways…
It's hard when you have been a fan since the early 80's and you remember them as young men. I kind of expect them to look the same as i remember but I don't look the same either. I didn't even recognize Adam Clayton. I thought he was someone hanging out with the band

Their worst album is better than most bands best album The volume and the quality of their work is second to none AB to me is the best album any band ever put out. You listen to it now almost 32 years later and its still current but same time one of a kind.

@@ScottH. Aside from Tania Leon and Gladys, every recipient is either 61 or 62. Adam, Bono and Amy are 62 and George, The Edge and Larry are 61. From oldest to youngest. But yeah.....Larry looks younger for sure and Bono's age has showed more the past few years.
u2 is a different animal when i idolized these gents back in the mid to late 80s. not so much anymore. just like most in the secular entertainment industry, they have chosen to float downstream with the current, instead of swim against it. highly ironic for me to say adam is now the most handsome of the four.
Ok, the band members behave a tad on the complacent side in this video, which often gives a reverse effect to the occasional viewer. But look beyond that: they deserve to be honored (all over the world) thanks to their entire career.
U2's music is so enjoyable, but not on this night. Whoever produced it for the award's show should be fired. Compare it to the production of Led Zeppelin's award night. Zep's night blew you away. Sorry U2, you were cheated on this one.
I, too, was underwhelmed by the different artists' versions of their songs. I did enjoy the bio aspect. They've had some good ones, though. McCartney, Joel, and Zeps, I enjoyed. Steve Martin was pretty funny with Paul Simon's tribute.
Agreed. As a massive fan it was definitely a hugely missed opportunity and frankly, somewhat offensive. Poor choice of songs. Elevation is not a good example of their passion and power. One was decent, but not transcendent, and Walk On was a poor closer - felt flat. And how was the Borat bit relevant in any way - cringeworthy!
I watched a few videos about this ceremony and I was like: Who’s that bearded guy? Some sort of American writer? And where is Adam Clayton? Is he sick or something? And then……. (He looks good by the way).
“Walk On” tribute was horrible. They weren’t even singing the correct words. This was a night to pay tribute to U2, not make a political statement and change the lyrics of the song. Excessive singing, etc. Eddie Vedder that a phenomenal job of “one.”
He's aging on the inside 😟 He said if the band tours in 2023....he won't be with them because of back and neck problems. Hopefully he gets that taken care of this year and they tour in 2024.

Saw U2 in 1982 at Rock Werchter, Belgium. Saw all these girls on the first row fainting, after waiting for hours, when Bono came up. Saw Pearl Jam in 1992 in our little concert-hall in Utrecht, The Netherlands and a day later on Pinkpop, the Netherlands. Saw an poster of U2 playing at The Effenaar in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in 1979 on the street for that evening; Always regretted I didn't get in. My friends didn't want to go. I still love Eddie Vedder dearly. I really dislike Bono. I think Bono turned evil around the late 90's and sold his soul to the devil. He is a horrible evil guy in my opinion. Almost as horrible as Biden 🙂
