Measured the IF22A I'm currently reviewing to only 1600 lumens, that's why the Turbo run is decent. If it was actually running to spec it would be much shorter. The spring isn't able to carry the current, should of used a dual spring setup.
Sofirn has some great lights. I also bought the IF22a, perfect fit for my hand. Wish they had some 5000k version of the led. Also got some Wurkkos lights from the Sofirn store , nice build quality and design
Honestly my go to floody thrower is the Sofirn SD09L. More of a flooder with a decent hotspot but extremely versatile especially since it’s primarily a diving light. For having 10kmAH dual 21700 light it’s very lightweight and compact. And only $45 on sale right now so that definitely helps.
Very good video, thanks for it. Is only one question left. How the difference is by a walk with the light in front of the feet. Clearly is the 22 there better than the 22a. But is it ok too with the 22a? Or is it only good in long beam? Wich one do u use more? Greetings 🖖🏻
I like them both. Its hard to choose. The 22 does have brighter 'spill' but the 22a isn' far behind and that beam profile (of the a) is really nice. Setting aside the 'look' of the beam I'd have to say the 22 is a better choice in particular due it better handling of the heat
Ordering direct from Sofirn (not sub-sellers) here www.sofirnlight.com/ has always been fine for me, otherwise they will be on Amazon UK in about two weeks. Sofirn have a UK facebook page. The Sofirn reps answer stuff and offer discount codes real quick on there!
I skimmed past a video yesterday thinking it was a miss-spell of the IF25A. But both good lights these, I've got the aatrolux EAO1 with a tir optics which is a good light, think I might get the 22 in 5000k if possible.
Out of the two, I prefer the beam profile of the a version but if we set that aside I would go for the standard 22 on the basis of better heat dissapation...
It has electronic lockout, 4 clicks from off/stdby ,4 clicks to unlock.. (i dont know wether it directly turn on to the last used mode from off after unlocking.. like my sp35 21700) Cheers TH*
The tir model doesn't make for a better long light stream...it does pound for pound for how much smaller it is ...but the if22 will be slightly bigger but it will have a slight longer And smoother range.i don't know what ever body is talking the tir is smoother longer that's the opposite
The Sofirn C8G is just a slightly overgrown If22. You can buy it at way less cost than the 22. Same size except the lens. The advantage is the spill which really lights up everything, instead of just flashing with a small spot.
Love that tir lens. Especially for a thrower. That beam is just lovely. Good video as always.
gets so hot you will want to throw it away!
I saw the TIR version, and immediately wanted it the other day. Wallet says too many lights recently haha. Great review, keep it up.
your wallet saved you a lot of grief. The a model will fry your hand like a slab of bacon....
Best review I have seen of those 2 as compared to each other.
Thanks!
Great footage! Thank you for the awsome comparison. My if22a shuld arrove tomorrow. Cant wait! Greetings from Germany
Thank you very much - its a great light, you won't regret the purchase!!
Excellent informative review as always. I definitely prefer the beam on the TIR plus it’s a bit easier to pocket. 👍
just wait till you fry your hand.....
@@caroltenge5147 Have used it several times and not managed to fry anything so far 😵💫

@Piercing The Darkness would one be able to perform a spring bypass on the If22a?
@@A-Fern You can do that, yes. I personally won't bother since I quite enjoy the longer duration of Turbo as is
should have got another flash light.
Спасибо, помогли определиться! Себе выбрала IF22A.

Love the Reflector version for range and generaly useful beam pattern
windy but clear weather i presume..
Cheers 🥃☕
Good to see you back, fella.
Thanks m8ty - dark nights closing in so some more reviews to come shortly :)
Sofirn did some newer testing and according to them the beam distance from the If22a is 697m and the If22 683m.
Nothing really in it then. I found the a version seemed nicer at range and when I say range as far as my eyes could differentiate.....
Excellent review I love both of them 😂
Thanks for watching!
I've got one but I have no click feedback at all on the button. It still works but no click. It's brand new and very irritating. Is mine faulty?
Nice review, the 22A reminds me of the old/original malkoff M60 with the TIR lens. thanks for the review
Thanks for watching!
Very good video, thanks for it.

@@flashlightsuk1422 Anything is better. After just a few minutes the heat becomes annoying.
IF22A better throw!
Cheers for this video!
Helped me decide between the two. IF22A it is :D
I couldn;t choose (as you could tell!)
Very good video comparison, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Definitely want the 'a', but having trouble finding somewhere to get it in the uk (apart from one overpriced site). Any suggestions?

Stands up to the Acebeam w30 pretty well.
Sir which do you think is better for all around use? Thank you

Does the if22 have the power bank function as well?
Thanks!
In a forrest the If22 for longshots the I22a
Sooo... i have to buy both of them 😫🤣
just what
i was thinking.....
Wow i like 22a. throwy and floody
Beautiful spot. Wish this was designed to where it wouldn’t activate in a jacket pocket

Almost any model would have that issue with just a side switch. I do find this type to be a little worse off though
Simply go nude. Problem solved
Уважаемый автор видео, скажи что лучше, аф 22 или аф 22а. Ничего не понятно голупчик

If you cant comfortably hold it, theres no reason to buy either of them.
I find most of the smallish high output lights warm up quite quickly!
