- In this project, we are going to design a Fingerprint Sensor Based Biometric Attendance System using Arduino. Simply we will be interfacing fingerprint sensor with Arduino, LCD Display & RTC Module to design the desired project. In this project, we used the R305 fingerprint Module and Arduino to take and keep attendance data and records.
Biometric Attendance systems are commonly used systems to mark the presence in offices and schools. This project has a wide application in school, college, business organization, offices where marking of attendance is required accurately with time. By using a fingerprint sensor, the system will become more secure for the users.

i have the same project somehow. Do you have any idea why when my project is powered supplied form a external source (not from laptop usb to arduino) the lcd i2c display doens't show any text / data? it just light up and doesn't show like on usb connection. Do you have any idea what could be the issue?

Is the fingerprint data being stored in the EEPROM memory of the arduino? If so, is there a way to transfer the data to an external storage, such as an SD card?

Yes there is a method to transfer. But program and circuit are different for that.

The output is shown on Arduino Window, i.e Serial Monitor. The data can be downloaded by pressing Reset button of Arduino + First push button on bread board together.

Bro lcd screen not working ,only showing arrow marks but the connections are correct ,should i alter the code to work it propely.
Check lcd connection with arduino and also recheck with program code. Also use 10k potentiometer at pin 3 of lcd to adjust the contrast.

hello, please help me. I want to make an automatic attendance system using a keypad, touch sensor, Arduino UNO, LCD 16*2. the student has to touch sensor then he has to enter his id no and his attendance will be taken automatically and the class teacher will get a message about who is absent.

Only tx and rx are used. And vcc and gnd. Leave other wires.

Additional number of i/p & o/p pins are required for gsm connection and i think there are no pins left for extra connection. So use arduino mega and read the example of gsm connection and merge with the orginal code

You can't increase. You have to change and upgrade the fingerprint sensor.

Yes you can use. R307 & R305 have nearly same configuration.

You mean compilation error.
Plz add all necessary library first.
Then compile with latest version of Arduino IDE, i.e 1.8 version. Earlier version had array compilation issue.

Place the finger properly and in full contact with glass. Also only use dry and clean finger.

Attendance taken with date and time can be downloaded. The final data is displayed on serial monitor. Copy the data and export it to excel.

Probably you are using wrong DS3231 library. Add correct library or some other DS3231 library

Compile with the latest version of Arduino IDE, either 1.6 or after that. The earlier version of Arduino has an array compilation issue
