Great hunt. I had the same situation with fire a few years ago except the fire started closer to our truck and we had to call it in then wait it out with plan B being a 12 mile hike out the opposite direction.

I was hunting when I noticed a couple trees on fire off in the distance. Turned into a pretty good fire for my area here in Colorado. I don’t want to give any info away on where either of us were hunting but was that central Colorado?

Hi Jack, it's a Tight Spot quiver that has a quick release lever bracket so you can put it on the bow or you can pop it off and just strap it to the side of your pack.

How did you find a butcher to process your meat? We are headed to Southwest Colorado.
There are plenty of places you can take big game to be processed! We suggest searching "big game processing colorado" and you'll find a bunch.
That is why I no longer use water bladders, sucks when they drench your gear. Never had a nalgene leak, but you pay weight penalty

Yup that is exactly why i do not use bladders anymore. Two floods and two frozen lines- f that.

I'am curious, i see you hunting with full packs miles from your vehicle and when you get an elk you only pack out the antlers.Why don't you show the carcass and all the meat that you leave to waste.

As you can see in the video, they took the front and back quarters along with the backstraps, rib and neck meat. And of course the whole hide and head/horns.
