In the summer of '87, a pivotal year of my life, we were going to visit in-laws near Nashville, AR, and KXAR-FM Hope/Texarkana, which then played "urban contemporary" but usually automated, without calling the names and artists of the songs, ran this over and over on our drive there. The melody and vocals swirled around that air conditioned car like a little black Tinker Belle, but I never caught enough of the song to know what it was, save I was sure it was Patrice Rushen. When we moved to metro Atlanta 4 years later pre-internet I tried to find this song by her but was unsuccessful. ONLY after watching the excellent "Unsung" (series and) episode about Patrice tonight did I get enough of the vocals to do a lyric search, and "Voila"! I've FOUND this after a 33 year search. Thanks, Unsung, and thanks, Ms. Rushen...you uber-talented lady, you.
