My most recent POH for my 1947 35, says flaps up for short, soft and even 10,000’ runways. I have heard, that flap usage was taken out of the manuals for all bonanzas and Barons Nonetheless, USING 1/3-1/2 flaps for short and/or soft field takeoffs, does make a big difference!!!
Great information in all your videos, thanks for the effort. What app are you using on your phone that shows the aircraft performance, i.e. take-off roll?
Question: My A36 (1997) POH says lift off with APPRCH flap is 67 kts, transitioning to 77kts by 50ft. So you say rotate at 5 kts less? So that for me makes it rotate at 62kts, which will achieve lift-off by 67? confirm? I have been rotating at 67 for my short field takeoffs. But if it gets you off the earth quicker, and safely, then all good.
Good information and demonstration. Thanks for take-two of the short-field take-off.
Thanks for doing this series.
You should Do a video on your door coming unlatched after takeoff ! It’s disconcerting, but manageable, if you just fly and come back and land
