I retired from the Army and decided to start a business in real estate video and photography and I picked up my Sony A7r 4 and 3 different lenses. I've had other cameras in the pass but needed the upgrade, its been a passion I've had for many years and now I want to take it to the next level. Your video was great, it help me a lot to navigate through the menu. Thanks!

That's a great common sense guide to setting up the camera for real world photography - rather than the settings for negligible improvements that no one will ever notice. Thanks!

A Huge Thumbs up Chris!!! I was determined to shoot in manual mode only, but after watching this tutorial I think i'll be shooting in aperture priority mode more often now. Thank you!!! It's really cool while back button focusing, you can half press the shutter to see what ISO is being used before you take the shot when auto ISO is selected in Aperture Priority mode.

Hey Chris, just a massive thank you for your Sony tutorials especially the set up videos as the menu is so different from Nikon. I made the switch to Sony (A7iii) and did my first wedding over the weekend with it (with a Nikon D750 as back up) and was blown away by the ease of use, eye tracking and the EVF when in bright sunlight. I will be getting another one to replace the Nikon's. Love the videos, keep them up.

    Hi,
In regard to the frame rates it is always best to set them based on the power grid in your area. For example I live in Mesa, Arizona, USA; and our power grid cycles at 60 Hertz. So, I set my frame rate to 30, 60, or 120 fps. If I lived in Europe then I would set my frame rate to 25, 50, or 100 fps; because their power grid cycles at 50 Hertz. This also makes the math easy when shooting slow motion; 50 or 60 fps gives me 50% speed, and 100 or 120 gives me 25% speed.
    Talk to you later,
    Mathew

Hi, I have the Sony A7RV. When I use the sensor cleaning function (dust) and run the command, the sensor does not vibrate like in the Sony A7IV, but remains still and only a slight tick tick is heard. People told me that it is normal of this sensor do not vibrate why Sony A7RV uses new generation ultrasound. This is true ?

Thanks for this video, super helpful and informative. I'm looking to jump into Sony from nikon soon. I noticed you skipped AF micro adjust. Is it true that mirrorless cameras don't need to have each lens calibrated for focus? This is one of the major reasons why I want to move to mirrorless.

I do know that it plays less important role than for DSLRs, but I guess there is a real reason for Sony to have it available for A7R4. Any clue?

Hey Chris, just found your channel as I'm in the process of moving to Sony. In regards to colour space, the reason you probably didn't see any difference between sRGB and Adobe RGB is that it should only apply to JPEG files. You'll see a big difference if you print a test image containing saturated tones. When using raw, you won't clip any colours (by using sRGB for example) until you export/compress the file from your editing software. They should make it clearer that the setting doesn't really apply to raw ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
