    I'd say Wordsworth's description of the field and simply the fact that he is telling us that it is possible to feel joy allows us to fin a similar joy he feels or to pursue it so he is in fact not making it private. I think that 'London' can also (easily) be interpreted through Marxism.

      Thanks for the feedback. I like the idea that the poem is a kind of sharing with the general public. The video is not meant to exhaust all possible readings, so I'm sure there's much more that can be said.

    Thanks a lot. Turns out super utilitarian in times of quarantine.

    Respected Up-loader,
    Great lecture. Doubtlessly, what you are doing is highly appreciable.
    However I request you to develop a series of contextual interpretations on a particular artifact. For example this poem must also be interpreted with reference to 'Power-Knowledge' nexus (Michele Foucault), Deconstructionism, Freudian perspective and empiricists' versions as well.
    I hope that with the help of these series of interpretations, the listeners will be able to develop their analysis that would not be fallible contextually.
    It will also be good if you leave questions to answer or aspects of thinking at the end of you lessons.
    These are humble suggestions. The possibilities of disagreement are always there.
    With high regards!

      Hi Syed, thanks for your thoughtful reply. If you look in the description of the video you'll see that I have provided a few other interpretations of the same poem. However, I'm happy to do more contextual interpretations of other texts in the future. It's just a matter of finding the time!

    what makes a marxist interpretation different from a more normative interpretation?

    • @thenatureofwriting9222
      @thenatureofwriting9222  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends what you mean by "normative." If one believes that literature in some way reflects or interacts with economic realities in history, then a Marxist interpretation seems normative. It may not capture everything in the text, but it provides an important angle.

    Thanks for your explanation, but it was no Marxist analysis of the poem and you seem to be naively associating the theory with a piece of literary work that doesn't fit. Thanks, however.

      So Marxist theory only fits certain literary works?

    Fascinated look. Although I would still side that the poem is capitalist all in all 😂

      Thanks for watching the video! The interpretation sampled in the video is just one possible reading.
