The end of the Angel era right here. Summer Bay was never the same when she left. God Casey was such a bitch to Joey, and never showed any interest in him until Tiegan took a liking to him. And the whole Selina/Stevo mess.... That was some good viewing! ITV should re-air some of these mid-90s episodes they have the rights to on ITV3 or something but not the butchered versions we got back then.
That happens every few years they have a good era then when those characters leave have to rebuild again. 2004-2008 was great then not good for a few years then 2013-2016 was great and now it’s no so good again
I grew up on late 90s and 2000s era which I love but I see why Shane and Angel are adored after watching them. They should have let them leave together like Sarah and Tug. Why kill Shane off? Poor Angel
Yeah but I don't think she'll love anyone like Shane. They had such a life. They always kill off couples and make one couple almost die before. Angel's accident then Shane then him dying, Martha being sick but Jack actually dying. At least Kim and Rachel divorced, not just one of them dying.

I always pinpoint this as the last episode of Home and Away's golden era.
The next episode, the credits changed and it felt off kilter since.

I think after 96/97, the show was beginning to go downhill and probably in transition.

I think it was great until 1997/98. Only 1999 was kinda bland but not bad but HAA started to became great again form 2000 onwards
