I just so badly want Pokken and original Pokemon gameplay to be put together. IV's and EV training affecting your personal 'fighter' stats. Items influencing the matchups. Switching. Every pokemon having their basic attacks but also having a move set from which 4 specials could be selected the way you would choose each pokemon's moveset. I always had a problem with turn based fighting, but I want all the other bits of effort in the original title games to be influencers on personal competitive teams and PVE. Yes there would be some pokemon who are just as useless in this mashup as they are in regular games Yes there will be meta teams, builds and strageties But at least it would be a more fast paced and actiony competition to play and watch than press 2-3 buttons and wait for it to be your turn again.
These games are already incredibly unbalanced without variable stats and builds. Just look at how unbalanced Pokemon is in its viable competitive characters and strategies. Yet it still remains a popular globally competitive franchise.
You know what else is a horrible idea? A game with 150 playable characters but only about 30 are competitively viable and run on invisible stats not discussed in the gameplay, run by algorithms your average player could never know just by playing the game.
