Creepy things is that the Thin Man is the most human character in Little Nightmares world, he's just too normal in a strange way.
And also the Geisha lady on the Maw

I read somewhere that the doctor actually really did care about his patients, but they kept dying and he desperately tried to replace their dying body parts with mannequin parts. The only patient left still truly alive is the one that we took the life support off of, and he cares so much about this one patient and is almost always trying to save his life. The reason why he was chasing mono and six around was because he was afraid they would disturb the patients' rest, and they eventually did by turning off the life support.
That does make sense, and I do feel bad for him a bit.
In other words we actually killed the only good man in the game.

Something I noticed about thin man's attacks and boss battles is how he doesn't hurt Mono while all the other monsters try to kill him (shooting, biting, etc.) Thin man just picks him up when Mono is caught, and during the boss battle he just reaches out towards him. That probably hints at them being the same person before the game actually tells you.

One theory about The Hunter that I find interesting is from NitroRad’s review of the game. He speculates that maybe The Hunter lost his family to the broadcast systems in the city, and moved out to the forest in order to escape the radio waves, wearing a sack over his head for protection. However, he likely ended up going insane anyway from paranoia and isolation.

That makes sense, there were makeshift humans that were eating in the hunter's chapter, maybe symbolizing his family that he misses and to help him cope he made those?, therefore supporting this theory.

While the Teacher is able to expend her neck to unnaturally lengths, it would also be nice to know that she never blinks, which also adds to the scariness of her.

7:29 something I find disturbing is that at first glance, it looks like the corpse is normal. But a closer inspection shows that hands and feet are reversed even though the body appears to be laying on its back if you just judge it by the clothes. I’m willing to bet that this chef’s body had reversed arms and legs.

That scene where the Teacher is chasing you through the vents has got to be the most horrifying experience I've had in any game or movie. Afterwards I literally just stared down the screen with the most vicerol terror I've felt in a long time, just catching my breath for what must've been at least 5 minutes.
I think the reason that part works so well is because throughout both games the vents have always been a safe space and having such a feeling of claustrophobic panic as that safe space is ripped away from you is just the best culmination of fear I've ever experienced.
The Patients probably freeze because the doctor wants them to stay still when he's operating on them so he uses the lights

I think that's a likely idea. Few of them actually have eyes to see in front of them so they might be conditioned to staying as still as possible. Alternately, they are officially stated to have went to the doctor out of boredom, so I don't think it's so much trauma or fear because they don't cower from the light. They just stop in place and their poses almost look like they are trying to stay still, rather than they actually have too. They don't flinch or panic from it, so my own idea, is that it's essentially just them playing freeze tag and in their minds stopping when the light shines on them is just part of the rules. They don't look especially bothered, so I dunno. Just my own little theory is that it's more or less, just another game to them. Just my own thoughts based on what we actually know for sure. I can't say if that's actually right or not, of course.

I actually feel awful for Monster Six. She just wants to be left with her box, then her friend smashes it with an axe. She sounds like she’s in agony, poor thing. It is super creepy that Six in her normal form uses the burning doctor to warm herself up tho.
And why can’t Thin Boi show some gratitude. He is finally freed and then attempts so kill his saviours.
She gotta make due with her warmth, since it seems kinda limited in that city

@@SirCavasShe's not evil OR crazy in II. It's heavily implied that when Mono and Thin man were pulling her, she lost her soul. We play as only her body in the og game, hence the hunger. It's due to the emptiness

Something I always found interesting that I don't see brought up often is that, you don't have to kill the Doctor. I went out of my way to get all of the achievements and one of them is once you close the door on the Doctor, you can just leave. He won't follow you, won't break through, you can just go. A lot of our first instincts was to pull the level and burn the Doctor alive, but you don't have to at all. I always thought that was interesting.
I think my favorite part about this detail is that the achievement calls it *crueler* than killing him outright. At first it seems like you're showing him mercy, but, in reality, you're dooming him to a slow death by starvation/dehydration stuck in a tiny, cramped room.
Don't forget, he also suffers as a deformed human and is stuck in pain.
I think it's eerie when the teacher plays the piano as it shows that she's still human and has a passion and it just makes this game feel that much realer

The way six just warms herself as the Doctor burns alive. Her later betrayal. She really is The Little Nightmare in this world.

The thing in the little nightmares world is that everyone has their own nightmare for example the hunter, teacher, doctor ect all have the same nightmare... six. They all fear six because of what she can become. But for mono, his nightmare is different. His nightmare is losing six but six already is lost. Because her nightmare is herself (this is just my theory)
I think the teacher being a pianist is so interesting and adds complexity to her character. Before we see her play, she's a rigid, authoritarian figure who eats whoever makes her angry and disrupts her class. But then in her downtime, alone and not in front of her students, she reveals an artistic side, one that she will never share or teach to the school's children. She then gets enraged when we witness her playing and chases us relentlessly until we get out. The piano playing is her secret, and one that doesn't match at all her disciplinary teachings.
Yea and it seems like she's the only one doing something else other than just one task. the Hunter only hunts, the Doctor only "treats" patients, the Villagers only watch the broadcast, but the Teacher doesn't just teach, she plays the piano in her free time, it's like there's still a part of her humane enough to think about doing something other than just teaching

Regarding the Hunter, I personally think that he took his family into the woods to try and escape the broadcast, failing this his family became distorted and he felt he had to put them at peace.
Now as we know about firing lines and firing squads the victims where sacks over there heads before they are shot.
I believe the Hunter couldn’t bare to look at his wife or child while he shot them to bring them peace or he didn’t want his family to see him while he shot them so he put a sack over there head with rope around the next so it could not be pulled off, until he shot them.
I believe the one hole in the sack is proof of this.
Furthermore once the Hunter had brought peace to his family I believe he couldn’t live with what he had done and he couldn’t bare to look at himself, thereby wearing the sack that was once but on his family members head when he shot them, 1. To serve as a constant reminder and 2. To hide his face so he wouldn’t have to see it and to also hide his pain/shame. This is further demonstrated by showing us the broken mirrors around the house so that he wouldn’t have to look at himself. I believe he tried to replicate his family so that he wouldn’t feel alone anymore or to try and fix what he had done.
Whether he is insane is to be debated, maybe he lost his sanity because of grief and isolation or maybe he isn’t insane, maybe he thinks everyone had been infected and he needs to rid the world of everyone that crosses his path to cleanse them of the broadcast towers evil.

that theory of the patients freezing because of the bright light makes me think that they were likely fully aware and able to move during whatever the doctor did to them, but they had to stay completely still for the experiments, or it would be more painful. otherwise, if they were unconscious, they wouldn't have such an immediate response to the light

I think the people were actually tied down, because there’s a scene where one of the bodies is tied down. I think it’s where you find the first hand monster.

I always found the Hunter to be the most interesting. He is the only big person that has no grotesque or supernatural abilities. Maybe he might be human but completely lost his sanity do to the broadcast.

The Teacher was the scariest one for me, hands down. Her screeching voice, her stiff walk, her slapped-on empty smile, her vacant eyes, her seemingly never-ending neck...the stuff of nightmares, right there. LITTLE nightmares, if you will.

I have a feeling that Hunter doesn't have a good eyesight. Because he easily misses Mono and Six when they hide behind the hill (even though it was on his very eyes).
Or he sometimes gets blinded by his own flashlight.
And also, about bullies. They die after you smash their head. But we can see clearly, that some bullies run around with their head shattered. Can it be that they don't die after you break their head?
Maybe they are just unconscious?

I think the creepiest thing about The Hunter is that he doesn’t speak. The others don’t speak either, but they scream or make loud noises. The Hunter just wheezes.

i think the reason he douse that is because his wife died in a prank with a sack he couldn't live without her so he taxidermized her he still felt lost so he killed himself but as we saw with the thin man the signal wont let them die so he struggled breathing due to the bullet that is forever lodged in his head trying to bring things back the way they where when he found six he found someone that has also lost someone dear to her (the raincoat kid from very little nightmares) he tried to befriend her but as she kept on running away he locked her in the basement when mono came along he was scared of losing six who wanted freedom more so tried to kill him.
at the end of the game when six let go of mono six was scared that mono would also use her so she let him fall

For anybody that dosent know, six betrayed mono because six recognized his face and knew he was going to be someone who hurt her in the future, so she let go, which is when mono sits in the chair, and becomes his older self, and (older) mono tries (and does) to take six, but (older) mono aggressively grabs six with no mercy at all, but he grabs (younger) mono being gentle, and also, after he grabs you he dosent do anything, he just holds you like a roblox player, no aggression, but being gentle, and thats because (older) mono was dropped by six when he was still a child, so hes seeking revenge on six, but also wants to help her in a way... though it is confusing.
But if for once, six WERE to save (younger) mono, she would break the paradox and have mono and six happy together, but (older) mono faces off with his younger self, always losing, losing, and failing, and in the first chapter, every television you see is every time (older) mono tried to save six from her trauma, and make his younger self never turn into him, but failed.
The very first time I played the game and did the final sequence and jumped to Six and she grabbed Mono’s hand, I was waiting for her to pull him up.
But I realized the moment was taking a lot longer to happen, and when she let go, my jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe that after everything they’d been through, she would just leave him.
But then after seeing that Mono was the Thin Man, it made sense.
Such a twisted, crazy awesome story.

Something I haven’t heard anyone mention yet is the fact that the teacher has jars upon jars with brains in them. The hollow heads of the bullies don’t seem like a coincidence do they? 👀
The teacher is trying to save his students even if it means turning the into dolls with no insides. Just like the hunter is trying to make stuffed dolls and the doctor is making mannequins. All of these include removal/alteration of the head to block the signal

What unnerves me about Monster Six is how her roars don't sound like a monster, but like angry child who's really just scared and confused.

Since this is a prequel, there is a chance that in the end of the first game, Six is returning to Mono, now with the incredible power from the Lady to hopefully break the paradox

Little Nightmares is my kind of horror game because I have a huge fear of distorted proportions when they're used in a horrific way
consider how many times Mono trips, he's the most clumsiest character in the Little Nightmares community.

Not covered in this, but there is a few things we do have actual confirmation on.
The way the bullies are described on the official website is they have no particular reason for wanting to kill and eat you. They really do just...like being jerks rather than having any deeper seated reasons to doing it. The implications are that while we do see a few who seem to be afraid of the rest of them and don't enjoy what their classmates are doing(When sneaking by a few of them, a couple are hiding or cowering from the rest), the ones that are trying to kill you, are evil simply because they want to be rather than forced or controlled.
The patients of the doctor that went to him are, in fact, completely voluntarily. They aren't forced or kidnapped. They are officially stated to have asked him to conduct experiments on them for no reason other than they were bored and thought mutilating their bodies would be interesting. There's a part where when their hands are reaching if you throw an item at them, they will throw it back to you, implying this is all part of a game.
While there isn't any confirmation on their reaction to the light, but my theory from what information we do have is that it's basically from their view point, just another game where they have to freeze in place in light and can only move when the light doesn't shine on them. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume that they don't really have an actual weakness to the light so much as just a game to play with children. That doesn't stop them from being perfectly willing to murder children just for the novelty value, but it's only my thoughts since if they are willing to have themselves mutilated for the novelty value, then playing freeze tag probably isn't too far beyond them.

Superhorrorbro has done videos before on LN2 and found out about the Patients voluntarily going to the Doctor because their lives are empty and they just keep going back for more! Definitely a metaphor for plastic surgery and how addicted some people get to it
As for the lights freezing the mannequin patients, there is an implication that they were brainwashed/hypnotised in the room with the chair and pictures on the wall in front with the light being able to flash on or off
The light may have a similar effect to the tvs that the patients recognize. Since they were volunteers and wanted to do this, they most likely had no fear of the light. Also since they still likely liked the tv’s, the light may remind them of the tv transmissions. Also I believe the hunter is still alive
@@yapyapthedestroyer2562 I agree with that interpretation being possible too. If they wanted to do it, they are probably staying still or trying too since it seems like they do it by choice. They don't look actually scared of the light so I don't think they're really all that traumatized by the experience. And it doesn't inflict pain on them like it did for the shadowlings of the lady, so it really seems as if it's not so much they are weak or afraid of the light, but simply choosing to stay still, willingly. I think the same for the hunter too. I know enough about horror games to know that if you don't ever find the body, then odds are, they are probably still alive.
@@auraicide4883 true. It’s never explained on why the patients do it, and since you said even in light their fingers can move, and when at the door, they don’t freeze, it seems they do it by choice, almost like they have child like personas in them.
The hunter as well most likl is alive as well, it’s the same deal with the janitor, we never see there corpse, and their wounds seem least fatale compared to the rest. The hunter was shot with a shotgun, but the door seemed to take in most of the blow, and it looks near his stomach or lower body parts. Also he lives in the woods with who knows what kinda monsters out for blood, this is probably a “normal” midnight for him

the part where the patients are reaching out through doors really reminds me of the scene in LN1 where the people are all reaching for you, always manage to creep me out

I mean the doctor, and literally every other creature they've encountered, had tried to kill them in one way or another. It's a bit morbid, but I get why six would relish in his death.

There’s an achievement that in order to do, you need to get compromised. Climb on the bookshelf and jump when it begins to fall. It will kill all 3 bullies.

I love this! Great analysis of all the monster's, and I like your mannequin. theory. But, I am a stickler for details.
15:16, spiders don't actually have suction pads! It's more along the lines of tiny little claws they can use to climb about. Suction pads are for creatures like geckos.
Since you’re a stickler for details, geckos do not have suction pads or suction cups. They use tiny hairs that branch out into more hairs, which branch out again into hundreds more, and this creates a kind of adhesive tension (that’s the best I can describe it without actually looking up the technical term). And spiders do not use hairs, their feet have extremely small hooks on each tip.
Theory: Most of the enemy "bosses" are each trying to figure out ways to counter the signal. Every one of them is altering people somehow. Stuffing, surgery etc, all of these include removal/alteration of the head that seems to be most vulnerable to the signal
(Edit) All of them have a motive after losing something to the signal. Hunter his family, teacher his students and the doctor could have lost his colleagues or simply be upset that he can't cure these people
The doctor was likely someone who was very very devoted to his work, so the signal really affected his mental state
so the teacher is a he-

This theory does actually make sense in retrospect,especially when you consider in little nightmares 1 there is a distinct lack of TVs on the maw and the ones that are there are usually hidden away,plus all the monsters seem to where masks or hide themselves away almost like their hiding themselves.this could mean the maw was around not just to feed the gluttonous but to get them away from the TVs all around pale city,but hey this is just a theory
Consider visually that out of all the monsters, the Thin Man is the only one who doesnt look like a disgusting thing. It's telling of the intelligence he has over everyone else.

Yeah and plus with it being confirm that Mono is the thin man, it makes me realize something. You know how most of the adults are disfigured and wear masks to hide their deformities? This makes me think that every kid in the series(Six,Mono, runaway kid, girl in raincoat, and those kids trapped on the maw) are most likely not affected by the tower yet. Guarantee Mono is taken by the tower, but strangely enough he isn’t deform and looks like a normal human. So judging from that, I guess if any of the kids who aren’t affected by the Tower turns out to be normal looking in the future if they can avoid it, while most of the adults we see as monsters were affected by it.

I do believe that six betrayed Mono bc he had to break their comfort toy. In order to release the monster Six had on itself. The ending was so sad. I LOVED THE GAMEPLAY I HAS SO MANY MIXED EMOTIONS WATCHING IT AHAH
Well often times, in a world like this, it’s survival first. So Six’s betrayal doesn’t exactly surprise me. Sad? Yes. Unexpected? No.
That’s just how it is sometimes, and I haven’t seen many characters with a mindset like this in a while. So it just makes it all more interesting for me

Exactly. I really love how Six is portrayed as someone hardened by this cruel world. Mono is the sole reason she was trapped in the timeless void of the Signal Tower. It was Mono who let Thin Man out, despite Six repeatedly trying to pull Mono away and stop him. Without him, she has more control over her situation, and is more likely to survive, at least in her eyes.
yeah, thats why i dont really like the whole "six is evil" idea that a lot of people have adopted. i do get it, but i feel her just being "evil" is a lot less interesting. and might not even be true.
i mean, think about it. shes at most a nine-year-old little girl who likely has grown up around the absolute insanity of this world. of course she would be a bit mean and at times, cruel. its very likely all she knows.
not excusing it or anything, just saying that given her situation her being the way she is is, in a way, normal. after all, there are tons of children like her in _our_ world that are in their own little nightmare. children learn from their surroundings.

I find it sort of interesting how six is sort of okay and calculated with every other monster, but when the Thin Man appears, she absolutely freaks out.

Thin man never actually chased Mono, everytime he was with Six, and once he had Six, the only other time they faced each other, was when Mono tried to go to the tower to rescue Six and disable it, and also, he simply tries to stop you from repeating the cycle, he's not hostile to Mono, since he is Mono

Maybe its because the Thin Man had that happen to him, and the thin man is trying to stop it from happening to mono, aka getting thrown off by six.

Six was always the antagonist and the tall man was trying to stop mono from becoming him the tall man was the protagonist the whole time
Basically Mono is in a time loop where he gets betrayed by Six, becomes the Thin Man after being alone for so long, then tries to stop Mono from becoming the Thin Man by separating his past self from Six, which causes a series of events that makes Six lose trust in Mono leading to the betrayal, these being Mono hiding under the bed when she was taken and smashing her precious music box in the Signal Tower, all of which leads to the "Long Live the King" moment. If the Thin Man never took Six away from Mono, she wouldn't have dropped him.

Mono is only one who can really defeat the monsters, he even defeated his own monster, himself quiet poetically and freed Six from her monster form but when he needed help the most she betrayed him, I felt so bad for my little guy then.

If you’ve heard of The Mimic, then The Teacher is probably familiar to Megumi, Megumi is also called “The long neck Woman”. Instead of eating them whole, Megumi eats their lower part, but keep their head for her collection of skulls. There are some similar personalities here! And for the Patents…. well I think they’re audio was for Shaku and Tokiko. MUDICH used Little Nightmares audios for the game. In the past, Megumi’s old theme for her library was the Thin Man’s chase theme. But due to the revamp, those themes are gone.
What I find really creepy is that the Teacher is the only monster we didn’t have an option to kill

The designers of the game have said that the beings inhabiting the LN world are all motivated by one simple desire or instinct, and I think you can expand on that concept in interesting ways. I have the impression that these creatures are all determined to keep at their old routines in spite of the fact that the world has collapsed around them. The Teacher keeps teaching, even though there's nothing left to learn and no one to learn it. The Doctor keeps treating patients, even though there aren't any cures left. The Hunter keeps taxidermising, using people when no animals are available. It's the only thing that gives them a reason to keep living - which is why they react aggressively towards anything interfering with their routines, threatening the semblance of normality they've created for themselves.

I don't know about anyone else but I've always interpreted the amputee character in the hospital bed to be a son or another family member to the doctor. It's the only character we see that isn't a mannequin in the hospital (seen through thr fact that they need life support like a human body would) and it's clear there's a reason he's so distressed when the life support gets turned off. I always thought maybe it's his son and he's using these other people to find ways to keep him alive without direct life support or to find a way for him to inhibit another body (like in a mannequin)

I think the Thin Man wanted revenge and freedom, but the Tower wanted Mono. Taking Six was originally the Thin Man's idea, the Tower Thing took over from there, used her as a lure to capture its favorite asset in perpetuity.

And since Mono's story is always on a loop, you can say that he had the hat already even though the game didn't start yet.

i feel like the patient on life support .. was like the doctors own “lover” . She had her own room, and the doctor was EXTREMELY distressed over her death. I feel like he kept her in life support because he loved her. The way he treats his patients making them pet his head and stuff shows he is lacking any form of human interaction or affection

Mono was the Thin Man all along. Six knew that, and took the first opportunity she got to get rid of him. She did not betray him, she only sent him back to where he always belonged. Mono becoming the Thin Man was just him accepting who he really was all along, like saying: "Well, my plan failed. Back to the old routine."
And what makes that theory even better is that six is said to be (idk if it’s true) the lady/geisha and then her eating herself and fighting herself and torturing HERSELF 😅

He may have survived, also we don’t know if that family in the table is his family, or just random people he found in the woods dead, dragged back to his home, stuffed them and pretend they were a family
It's only conjecture that it might have been his family from what I can tell. It's entirely possible he's just a serial killer and those were the residents formerly living there. From all the gore and body parts in his forest, it shows he's murdered tons of his own species which leads to a lot of interpretations about him. Is he a paranoid survivalist who realizes the world has gone to shit and he's basically defending himself like he's a grizzled veteran in a horror movie? Is he just a serial killer murdering people for sport? Part of the fun of these minimal dialogue games is all the different interpretations people get from the characters. Though, it's important to remember that when hearing these theories including the ones I throw out, it's someone else's biased opinion because that's what they want to believe. Of course, they already have an idea of what they want to think so they use that evidence to support it. I don't think we have any actual proof confirmed yet about who the Hunter is or why he does what he does. But we can have fun guessing, can't we?
Quick correction. The doctor doesn’t have suction cups. He took out every other ceiling tile. There’s a sequence where you run along a full ceiling so he can’t grab on.
But at 15:13 he is just crawling on a ceiling with all tiles intact.

I think all of the monsters are backwords and twisted versions of their regular self, as in maybe the teacher had a very short neck? Maybe the doctor was worker of the month? Maybe even the hunter was more of a vigilante. But their reality still seeps through like when the teacher uses playing piano as a calming mechanism

Correction here, the hunter uses a shotgun, which doesn't use bullets, so it's not a bullet wound. Shotguns use a cartridge that is made out of plastic, when the gun powder is ignited, the explosion forces out small pellets. It could probably be called a bullet wound though, if slugs were used instead of pellets as a projectile.

Theory:after the teacher chased Mono in the vents when she tried to go back she got stuck cause her head was to big and that’s the reason why she played her keys “D E A” cause she knew mono was gonna get chased through the vents by her so she sacrificed herself
