Eternal Rest Grant to them O Lord. Pray for the souls in purgatory. This is the Mass of all ages. This is the prayers that need to be said at the Mass for the poor departed souls. God bless you young man.
This is awesome. Your voice carries really well. and my favorite stanza is "Recordare, Iesu pie, quid sum causa tuae viae. Ne me perdas illa die." Thank you for posting this.
Sort of like English, Latin was the common language of Europe, due to the massive influence of Imperial Rome. English had not yet appeared, so this and all other "sacred" chants, texts, and official documents were written in Latin. He is singing in Gregorian Chant style. Very nice!
Such a beautiful voice you have been blessed with! I could listen to you sing all day 🙂 Teach me how to sing like this!! I want to praise the Lord through hymns like this!
Eric te agradezco de todo corazón por toda la serie tan instructiva de cantos que nos has mostrado. Esta es mi favorita. Bendigo la hora en que naciste
hahahaha some people will never understand the meaning of traditional prayers...they are lost in a "protestant" catholic way of faith. Cheers to you for posting these wonderful prayers.
@@hammaslanka69 I am Catholic, I believe in a true God, who is infinitely correct and just, as well as infinitely merciful. Catholics are no separation from anything, Protestantism came out of us and we hope they return to the church founded by Jesus Christ.
@@dawida1078 You hate Pope?! Love thy neighbor as yourself. I agree this Pope is one of the worst Popes of al time, but we need to love him and give reverence to him as he is head of our Church. He got this office from God.
Beautiful. I wish my Church offered EO Mass. But oh well, EO and NO Mass still carries that mysterious feeling that I love. Maybe it's because I'm a recent convert.
You can understand most of it if you 1) read the english translation 2) take a few classes in Latin, 3) make a point to learn the meaning of individual pieces--one at a time.
Requiem Aeternam as the introit, the Kyrie, the gradual Requiem Aeternam (different from the introit), tractus is Absolve, the sequence Dies Irae Dies Illa, Domine Jesu Christe is the offertorium, Sanctus, Agnus Dei (with the dona eis requiem and dona eis requiem instead of miserere nobis and dona nobis pacem) and then the Lux Aeterna as the communio. That is for the Mass. Well we sing the Libera Me at the absolution in the church, followed by the In Paradisum when the coffin is taken out.
Hello! I very much like this harmonization! And your voice follows well with the poetic sentiment and flow of the melody/tune! Where may I find (or buy) a copy of this harmonization/sheet music? Thank you very much for any help in this matter.
Thank you for this beautiful music. May I ask you which Latin songs are sung at a funeral Mass and in what order please? Thank you so much!!! God bless you!
I don't want to sound like an ass but, it sounded like you were rushing the whole song. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints. You voice is amazing and I'm having trouble typing this comment because there's a tear in my eye. :')

Excellent. You are a very talented singer. I am a Hindu from India but I love Gregorian chant. Is it in Italian or Latin language ??? Pls let me know. Love from India. Love to Christ.............I bow to the Holy Lord.
Pretty good. The only that I would recommend is that you should consider using your head voice. It seemed to me that you were 'pushing' your voice. Remember: Gregorian chant is based on your head voice, not your chest voice. :) Other than that, very well done!
He has a voice suiited to Gregorian Chant and a feat to play and sing. Beautiful!!
I'm still watching this video, brother. God bless you!
Thank you, your rendition helps to find a good melodic structure for this chant.

Then, if necessary, the Subvenite is sung after the In Paradisum at the grave.
*dona eis requiem and dona eis requiem sempiternam instead of....

This should sing this at The a church during mass
We do. As we go to traditional Latin Mass.
it's sang in requiem mass (and also in the all souls day) just after the tract, which is before the Gospel proclamation.
Pulcherrime cantare potes!
