Yeah the cabin product (seat and entertainment) are really nice, and loved the little touches like paper menus and amenity kits. Honestly, food was better out from MNL than on this flight. i am happy for PAL flying with them domestic and asia pacific routes....i fly EK Emirates from Copenhagen via Dubai to Manila flight...when I am in the Philippines with domestic and asia flights i fly with PR Philippine Airlines....as a mabuhay miles member too i hope they order more A350 modern aircraft and all aircrafts should have EVS/ ETV for every seats...
to be a 5 star airlines, all of their airplanes "must" have PTV installed in every seats just as when you experience boarding on airlines like Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Japan Airlines, ANA and Cathay Pacific.
PR need to get themselves into an alliance... Can see myself booking flights with them on mileage runs! They seem much better than initially perceived too! Thanks for the review!

Don't forget they have a mega oneworld carrier in the form of Cathay Pacific, operating from an established base barely 30 mins away from MNL. The best bet for PR in my opinion would be *A. Don't forget that alliances aren't meant to spark competition, and exist to allow airlines to focus on their various niche markets by eliminating direct, head-to-head competition. TG and SQ operate very different models from PR. Both *A stalwarts take advantage of their hubs' central locations (BKK and SIN) to allow for seamless connections through the base to all corners of the globe - Europe, NA, Australia etc. PR are not able to compete with SQ, TG or even NH due to the poor facilities in their hub. E.g. Europe-bound Aussie travelers are not likely to choose to transit through NAIA, given a choice between MNL or SIN. I find that PR's main niche and potential opportunities lie in connecting the numerous islands in their nation through a central hub (MNL), to regional destinations popular with Filipinos, e.g. HKG, TPE, CGK, KUL.

I fly rt from HNL to MNL yearly and sometimes the inflight WiFi doesn’t even work. Then when returning to HNL the plane sits on the tarmac for 2-3 hours. But I still choose to fly with PAL because of the non-stop flight and the cabin crew

Have flown from Vancouver to Manila with them, and back about four times, and their planes are always cold inside. Allways have to keep asking to turn up the heat. They are improving, and the food is good.
Mum and I have been flying with them since I was kid. In recollection, I only had 1 bad experience with them. That was when we were only wearing our comfy clothes and the FA's were a rude to us. It was 1995 and I was 5 years old.
You took off via 26L normally you would take off on 8R so if you take off in 26L the winds are in a rare direction but it’s common during the winter cause some storms
Ugh i know how this feels, pr 101 Honolulu to MLa, im always bored for this long flight! So touching whenever i land in manila miss my family and to see them again! Late afternoon na kasi lagi land ng Pal from HNL , gusto ko maaga nmn kasi parang depressing pag gumagabi na ang dating lagi theres no more connection flights to provinces due to late na :/ thanks god at meron airport hotel na sumusundo to spend overnight then balik again sa airport for a domestic flight the next morning! Before way back then, umaalis yung PaL from Honolulu at midnight so umaga dumadating sa manila ang plane. I miss going home! but I don’t like long flights!

Two hot meals and a cold snack service on a 10 hour flight as really good, PAL really have improved over the last few years. I do 10 hours Seoul - Dubai with only 2 hot meals, no additional snack service, Emirates are getting mean. You dropped your new intro music? ace video as always Gavin.
Clearly you have never flown long-haul, the portion sizes are small and the third meal would usually be just a sandwich, so its nothing really. While the flight might last 10 hours, your on an A380 for over 11 hours. Boarding about 45 minutes before departure and it take 20 minutes to get off the dam thing!

They DONT TURN THE AIRCON ON until thyre at CRUISING ALTITUDE of a certain level....I asked d stewardess why, and she said...".Were Trying to Conserve fuel" ..so our plane stayed in d Tarmac for 20 mins WITHOUT the AIRCON ON under the blazing heat of the Sun ( true to life experience when i flew to the US in 2017 )

OMG they got rid of the old air bus that had no screen and usb. You had to use your personal device to get the inflight entertainment. I could never figure out why you can get free WiFi on the bus to Baguio for 700 pesos but you spend close to $1000 and you still have to pay for WiFi on your flight.

I travel a lot and trust me if you are seating in an economy class you get a plastic cup for beverages unless you are travelling in business & 1st class accommodation.
I flew from Sydney to Honolulu via Hawaiian Airline. Hawaiian Airline & Philippine Airline services are exceptionallly very good!!!....I’ll put Virgin Airline to the bottom list because of its terrible international service from Sydney to Bali & return. No more Virgin Airline!

I travel a lot and trust me if you are seating in an economy class you get a plastic cup for beverages unless you are travelling in business & 1st class accommodation.
meal looks a bit better than the crappy stuff they offer along the SFO-MNL route.

I flew from Sydney to Honolulu via Hawaiian Airline. Hawaiian Airline & Philippine Airline services are exceptionallly very good!!!....I’ll put Virgin Airline to the bottom list because of its terrible international service from Sydney to Bali & return. No more Virgin Airline!
