Manny did not do anything wrong. Game is game, doing it healthy is fine. Letting a person win just bc their personal life is a mess or is an orphan is not a reason😅
@@puri275 so what they get the upper hand in everything?? It's cus of them GETTING the upper hand benefits people start coming and taking away our houses and tax payer money for what cus they had a bad life hood and all that.
@@puri275it’s called competition. You think Martin St. Louis scored a goal after his mother passed away because the other team let him? No he had to fight for that goal. I’ll admit what this girl has gone through is tough but like he said game is game
That's a look of regret, Previously they told the son to fight the girl (the female patient they were staring at) to fight without mercy. But after hearing from the nurse Regarding their son's story, in the end they regretted telling their son to fight without mercy
Obviously this is made for TV to be entertaining, but there's a great deal wrong here: Men and Women don't compete against each other. (And this has to be a meaningful competition or they're giving away ridiculously huge trophies for an internal fun one) There's no director calling touches, starting and stopping the action, and generally running the bout. This is important because Manny turned has back to his opponent, which is a penalty. Also, without a referee calling halt, removing your mask before the call to halt is also a severe penalty and a major safety issue. In addition, in nearly 40 years of fencing, I have never heard a scoring box make a sound like a basketball buzzer. It should instead be a long tone with the accompanying light for the referee to see clearly before ruling on the touch. While there is someone standing off to the side and blowing a whistle (!?!), that's not how directing is done. The Director stands in a commanding position to correctly see and judge the action, not in a corner of the strip. Furthermore verbally making all calls in either English or French. After a touch is scored, they call halt, then explain the action that resulted and which side got the point. The stop and re-iteration also gives coaches time to complain and if necessary, replays to happen. Speaking of which, where's the coaches? Both sides should have coaches mentoring them, especially cadets (kids). The girl thoroughly deserved to lose. She made no parries and no lunges, she was a poorly moving target. How did she get this far if she never attacks and never defends? The touch at 4:22 really shows how terrible she is, Manny has no defenses, she closes to such a range that she could extend her arm and hit Manny and instead, Manny snaps the parry and the kid playing Manny can't even extend his arm to hit her because they're so close. Manny was scoring valid touches, but he's using an epee, where the whole body is target and instead focused on the torso, which is the target in foil; this isn't a problem given that she doesn't do anything, but it makes her poor showing all the more obvious. Manny could've gone for the torso, she could've made a basic parry, and Manny could've then changed his line of engagement to go for the arm, legs, or head. At least then beating her would require more than 2 lessons, or even just 1 depending on the length of the lessons.
Boys and Girls can compete together up to a certain age. It's generally up till they are 11-12 when the hormones start to kick in and boys develop a huge physical advantage over girls.
Are you showing off or pissed off i can't understand how can someone be so worked up on a part of the show where it just made so out of pure comedy thats why the scene was focusing on gloria and j not so much on manny and the match yh also lets not forget they are kids who are can make mistakes and cannot be penalised as adults
In this episode, the entire family supports Manny in his fencing. But Manny wanted to quit because his final opponent was a girl. But his mother motivated him to fight her. But then they realized that the opponent Caroline was an orphan. And they realized they made a mistake.
Manny emoted on her mid match 😂

Mannys win wasn’t pity
He's saying she would be happy with a loss rather than a win that she didn't deserve.

That would’ve been worth a yellow card. The fencing world takes sportsmanship very seriously.
