  • Our 2017 Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 needed to have it's rear wheel bearings replaced. It's not a terribly complicated procedure, but it does take a lot of ugga-duggas to get those axle bolts off! The bearings are relatively expensive so doing it yourself would save a lot of money.
    This Lamborghini Huracan is for sale at NG Supercars and is VIN ZHWUC2ZF6HLA05722. www.ngsupercars.com

    Love this video. It is very relatable for anyone who does their own brakes. Crawling into the wheel well, knuckle buster hidden bolts, Jerry rigging a Pry bar with a kids scooter handlebar. Learned a new phrase too. DT

    Next upgrade for the shop is a proper torque bar - a 1000Nm should be good for you guys. They are usually about 2m long and will make light work of any hub nuts on normal cars. The ones I used to use were made by Norbar.

    • @colelje

      Get the ones we use in aviation. Its like 3m long with the cheater bar.

      @@normalguysupercar Should have used that one then. Sure it worked this time but when someone is using a cheater bar on top of a breaker bar it is a recipe for disaster. ie, when you're putting your body weight into it and the bar breaks and scratchs/dents your car.

    The brake rotors on this are even smaller than my RSQ8. That's not entirely surprising, considering the size and weight different, but steel brakes are a surprise at this price point and model year.

    I appreciate seeing the real struggles. It makes me feel better about any time I hit a snag and I’m just cursing to myself for a good 30 min about some dumb bolt. It’s good to know that I’m not the problem and I’m not alone. We need a support group for bad loctite and high torque moments.

    🎉Gotta love hubs and bearing installs! Get a harbor freight front end kit, otc hub tamer and an inductive heater for those bolts with thread compound. Always loosen the axle nut with wheel on ground. U will never get that final torque with that breaker bar.
    Great video.

    3/4" inch breaker bar is a must for axle nuts (bolts in this case). Despite being the next size up the difference between a 1/2" and 3/4" square drive is laugh out loud funny. Surprised yours didn't give way like mine did!

  • @keithflynn5651
    @keithflynn5651 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

    It's a torque to yield bolt, I highly doubt you'll snap one. One of the bolts that we use on the engine we build is 300NM then 90 degrees. We've been having issues with the rundown recently and the bolt has withstood over 700NM of torque.

    I'd avoid hitting a floating rotor with a mallet like that in the future, you can knock it out of alignment with the hub resulting in a vibration when braking

    Just a suggestion, I am certain you can get the torque values for these cars. Torque the wheel bearings to OEM factory specs. If you did you didn't show it, and if you didn't then you should really torque it properly. I am not being a smart ass or splitting hairs. Just the proper thing to do for your future customers.
