Kinda surprised that you didn't discuss Denver. In addition to being a cold winter city with a no-roof, very traditional stadium that people like, we also have the misfortune of being a mile above sea level, meaning it'll be nosebleeds galore for anyone from sea level coming here for the game.

Actually, at one point Kansas City was voting whether to put up a moving roof over Arrowhead and Kauffman. But voters said no. I think we would have gotten a Super Bowl by now had we gotten the roof. And the design plan for it look very cool. You could host a Super Bowl and no longer have postponed baseball games due to rain.

The dome idea was considered twice (once in 1985 and again when the Arrowhead renovation was put on the local ballots) but failed to get much traction either time. Honestly, I think it's for the best the dome never came to be. It wouldn't be Arrowhead with one.

I’m a Bills fan who has long accepted the fact that the super bowl is never coming to Buffalo. It’s literally the worst possible option: awful weather, tiny market, old stadium and one other thing you didn’t mention is that the NFL doesn’t want cities that would attend the game themselves. If ever they played the super bowl in Green Bay or Chicago or Buffalo or New England or Pittsburgh or Kansas City or Philadelphia and that team qualified, it would essentially be a home game for that team. The NFL is being proven right because the Buccaneers barely felt like a home game in part due to the pandemic and I bet the Rams will not feel like much of a home game either.

I wish Cleveland would build a retractible roof stadium. It's an amazing city. People are always surprised at how much they love the city when they visit. Plus it would be nice to have people in the front office build a team that doesn't focus so much on the run. The winter weather is why the Browns have been built as a running team lately.

I really feel like Charlotte and Bank of America Stadium could host a Super Bowl. The stadium is cared about and seems to get updates every two ish maybe three years. That could become even more frequent with the new MLS team Charlotte FC. Plus the Charlotte market is very rapidly growing along with the city of Rock Hill just down I-77. Plus the Panthers are building an all new practice and many other facilities there in Rock Hill. So the market is certainly there, TV and otherwise. The weather there in Charlotte is also pretty decent 9 times out of 10 so more than likely wouldn’t be too bad on the weather factor. Unfortunately I agree with Buffalo. I have been there, and it is my favorite place to go. The fans are amazing. The stadium feel like its away from the rest of the craziness. While the stadium itself isn't the best, there really are no bad seats there. Just a lot of fun. Been to Pitt, Cle, Philly, and Chi too. Buffalo is by far my favorite.

You can have a super bowl in a cold weather state only if they play in a dome just like they did when the super bowl was play in Minnesota and Detroit one time. Plus also if you realize they always have the super bowl in warm weather states and cites that are big market cuz it brings more business and gives people something to do and bring the city money etc.

Kansas City was awarded a Super Bowl during 2005 owners meetings as an NFL incentive (and contingent) to build a dome (or rolling roof) over Arrowhead Stadium. This was also a nod to Lamar Hunt, who sadly passed away shortly afterwards in 2006. IMHO, the problem was due to the fact that the bond issue was split between two teams, The Royals and The Chiefs and their respective stadiums. Along with the high costs of renovating not one but two stadiums they were asking for additional money for a rolling roof between the two stadiums. The issue was spilt into two separate initiatives and the voters viewed the rolling roof as optional, which led to its failure.

Denver is kind of the obvious one left out of this video. Our winter climate is milder than most people think, we have the infrastructure to support a large influx of visitors on Super Bowl week. However, the climate and an open air stadium isn’t enough to convince the NFL to host a Super Bowl here. On top of that, Denver isn’t going to build a domed stadium anytime soon. Our stadium, whatever it’s name happens to be this week, is only about 20 years old.

If Candlestick Park managed to host Superbowl 37 instead of Qualcomm Stadium. It would have made the How On Earth Did They Host tier. The stadium category tier list. If the Astrodome hosted the Superbowl it too along with the Edward Jones Dome would have made the Substandard tier.

When the Levi’s hosted the Super Bowl the festivities where in San Francisco and the game was in Santa Clara which is 40 miles away. The only reason I see the NFL giving Gillette the cold shoulder is because of their cold weather.
